I don't come across many hardcore readers in my daily life, and it is terrific to see this many at one place! Hope to have a good time here :)

message 307: by Abhipsa (new)

Abhipsa Mohanty Hi...this is Abhipsa.I am 16 and I am from Bhubaneswar,Odisha.I am a typical bookworm and I read every genre I can get my hands on.Everything except non-fiction.
I started reading with the odia novels and short story collections lying around my place when I was 6.Then my cousin introduced me to Harry Potter Collection and I feel like I didn't stop reading after that.I have read Harry Potter like a numerous times but it still feels fresh and new everytime I open it.Okay, enough of fangirling..
My favourite books are:
1.The Beast's Garden by Kate Forsyth
2.Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge
And a lot others.
Basically I like to read High Fantasy Romances but that's not a mandatory thing. As long as its written on pages and is dark and intense,I would read it.
I guess that's all about me.Thanks.

message 341: by Gorab (new)

Gorab (itsgorab) | 3110 comments You've found your way to the perfect group Alok.
So far this group was dominated by classics, but its shifting towards non-fiction :)
Welcome once again.

How the group works?
Well, you can browse through what goes around in this group in its various threads here - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/list_...

Then we have a monthly group read where the members vote from a list of nominated books and the winning book is read as a group. For instance this month we're reading Matilda here - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

And you can nominate the book to be read in February here - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

You'll also get email notifications of planned monthly group activities at the start of each month.

There are various challenges, buddy reads, chit-chats (non-books too) but books and reading is what connects us all here.
Hope you'll have a good time here :)

message 345: by Jatin (new)

Jatin | 2 comments Hello everyone!
My name is Jatin and I'm from Kolkata, India.
I love to read (quite obvious). My other interests are playing football, listen to songs, playing the piano and thinking.
My favourite authors are Rick Riordan, Jeffrey Archer, Durjoy Dutta, Stepehn Hawking and Dan Brown!!
I mostly read fiction, fantasy and adventure, but I'm open to all suggestions.
I love science. Physics to be specific. Space, time, dimensions, black holes and all.
My favourite series is the Heroes of Olympus and I staunchly believe that Percy Jackson is better than Harry Potter (and people hate me for that)

Guess I've said quite a lot. I'm new here at Goodreads and I'm looking forward to having a good time.
I'm glad I found this group.
