I'm David, living in New Jersey and Pennsylvania as a literature student/devotee and aspiring writer. I make it a personal effort to work on reading all books of the Western Canon. I'm also big on history and philosophy. I typically veer back and forth between modern/post-modern literature and the classics.

Hi Friends, My name is Shivkumar from Pondicherry, India. I have recently published a book of short stories EMPTY FISTS".
Hi All!! I joined couple of weeks ago and I thought it was finally high time that I introduce myself with the group. I am a certified Bookworm and proud of it. I started Winter by Marissa Meyer (The last book of The Lunar Chronicles - or so they say) last night. I take my Kindle everywhere I go and I make sure that I have 2 - 5 books readily available for reading. At the moment I am at the office suppose to be working however I am on Goodreads and hopefully I will be able to sneak some reading it. (It's easier to do when the boss isn't in. HA!!!) Happy Reading!!!

Hello all, my name is Ivan, I am 21 and I am from Bulgaria. Before last year I would tipically read books that are in the crime or horror genre, but since then I have started reading every book that sounds promising. My focus this year was more on classics such as "War and peace", "All quiet on the Western Front", "The phantom of the opera" , "To kill a mockingbird" and others. But when it comes to short stories, I don't think I have a favorite genre. In the following days I will be reading short stories.

What I don't love? Any sport other than football. I really hate other sports, especially cricket. Non fiction. I don't read non fiction at all. Except when its in my interest and seemingly a superb work. I don't like Bollywood either. Would you believe if I told you that I saw a total of 214 movies last year, only 4-5 being Indian movies? There are a lot of things. You only just need to start counting :)
Thats very rare to see a movie lover in India skipping Bollywood! Fair enough.Happy Reading :)
Hi everyone! I'm Marie, I live in Canada (Montréal) (so sorry if my writing is not perfect!) and I'm 28.
What I love:
-The smell of books!
-My work as a caregiver.
-Having a conversation about books and movies.
-Going for a walk and lost myself in my thoughts in the woods.
-David's tea!
-Writing! (In french, for now. I'm not confident enough to write in english yet!)
What I dislike:
-When it's too crowded in the bus/metro (so I can't read properly!)
-Sheperd's pie. Yes. Not good. Not for me. I like everything but separate!
- When people doesn't understand that yes, crying while you reading is okay. It's normal. You feel emotions. You are human. It's okay to cry!
My favorites books of all time:
- The Harry Potter's serie.
- Me before you (Ugly cryied like never before.)
- The fault in our stars (Also ugly cried like never before)
- Cloud Atlas
- Girl with a pearl earing
- Le mur
- The pianist
- Aliss

Hello, everyone! My name is Krislyn, I am nineteen years old, and I am from California. I'm currently studying to become an English and History teacher. My hobbies include gaming, cooking, reading (duh!), writing, binge-watching Netflix, and studying whatever subject catches my eye. I love anything horror-related, anything Greek or Roman related, animals, warm fuzzy socks, and anything with caffeine. I'll read whatever catches my eye--I'm not very picky about my books.

Hi, my name is Mary and I just discovered Goodreads. I am a nurse and haven't read as much as I would like in recent years. I was raising a grandchild who went to live with her Air Force dad (my son) when school started so you would think I would have a little more time on my hands. Last year I challenged myself to read classics. I have read about 5 on that list and now want to do the 2016 reading challenge and will incorporate classics where they fit . I love reading, cross-stich and embroidery, growing flowers, and my granchilden-6 under the age of 8 and 1 on the way!

Live closeto the beach and its one of my favorite places to read. I read mostly UrbanFantsy. Im stuch in the genre but I like what I like. Ill read other things, I just lean heavily to the UF.
