hehe Thank You Gorab :)

After a long hiatus, i have just got back to my reading spree a few months back and I am loving the time I am spending with my books :)
I'm currently reading 1984, Teenage Diaries: The Days That Were, It Ends with Us and What Light :)
'It ends with us' is intense, 'Teenage diaries' is a hilarious romance (I've just started though), '1984' is thorough & disturbing and 'What life' is not great as of now! :)
Welcome Romil!
1984 is disturbing indeed. I tried but couldn't read more than 50 pages. It was too depressing.

Roberto here from Mexico. I have a "career" as a reader since I was 11 years old.
I love to read almost any genre.
Last year's Goodreads challenge was a little bit hard to comply but hopefully this year's will be easier, since I have scheduled more time a day for reading.
My favourite books:
-Never-ending Story (Michael Ende)
-Timeline (Michael Crichton)
-Ready Player One (Ernest Cline)
-Ser Feliz Era Esto (Eduardo Sacheri)/Being happy was this
-The Sherlock Holmes series
-The Lord of the Rings series
I enjoy mostly fiction works, novels, scifi and sometimes romance novels, provided they're not too "sappy".
I have a 2-year old boy, I'm happily married.
Hope to find similar tastes and comment on your previous readings, current and future ones as well
(I sometimes spoil books but that's not that often, promise to use the "spoiler" tag)
Good to be here!
-Roberto.

Romil, good to know you're back on the reading track :)
Robert, among your varied genre favorites I haven't read any. Have plans to read Timeline, Sherlock and Lotr.
Hope to discuss books and more with you guys.
Cheers :)

I am Prathima from Bangalore.
I love to read books mostly fiction, thrillers and few other genre.

Welcome to the group!
Welcome to the group!

I just joined your group :)
I am a thirty something, child-free, professional living in New Zealand with my fabulous husband of nearly 9 years. My interests include psychology, sociology, research, children's literature and spirituality (I am a loving liberal, feminist and a universalist).
I love doing yoga, meditating, spending time in nature and being creative.
I fell in love with reading when I stumbled upon Roald Dahl's 'Danny the Champion of the World' at the age of 11. I now find myself reading biographies, memoirs, self-help and spiritual books of authors often featured on Oprah's 'Super Soul Sunday' program and Tedtalks.
This year I aim to do more of what I love (reading) and connecting with those who are like-minded.
I just got Matilda, so will try and catch up with you all.

Hi Lucinda.
I remember Roald Dahl from my childhood. I was 9 and my parents had just gotten divorced and every Tuesday my mother had choir practice (or at least that's what she said). So every Tuesday was TV night. I watched this horrible gameshow with my grandfather and ate some slices of bread and whatnot. But when the gameshow ended we picked up THAT book. The Roald Dahl one. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (and later Charlie and the Glass Elevator). My grandfather read it to me. 10 minutes. Half an hour. An hour. I wouldn't go to sleep. I loved the story. I loved his voice. I loved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Can you imagine what that story did to a chubby 9 year old. A river of chocolate? Chocolate fountains? Oh, I remember those Tuesday night dreams.
Anyway. I'm rambling. I'm blaming the beers.
Welcome!

Matilda is the only Dahl I've read(thanks to members here for choosing it book of the month) and it's so simple and impressive that I'm going to try some more by the same author.
looking forward to catch up with you guys on books and more.
have fun.
cheers!

Welcome Hilary!
