message 354: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Thank you. I will. :) It should be fun. This is the first time they are making it, so I don't know what to expect except for description: fencing lessons for kids, knight tournaments, medieval village replica etc.

Have a nice working day!

message 360: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) I've just run a search on my Kindle and there are 11 books containing word 'parsley' on it. In fact I've got book for each of the available goals, I just don't have time to read it. :/
I hope I will have time to finish at least one until the end of the round. Is the end on this Sunday evening or Saturday?

Well, It's sunday 1 AM for me, I think, so it will be your 2 AM, if I'm not mistaken. I think you're on the same timezone as Tea.

message 364: by Sara (new)

Sara | 1294 comments Finished the book with a palindrome ( details here ).
I have books both for parsley and South America but I prefer to wait for our new goal first ;) -- Not really in the mood for the one set in South America and guess that I couldn't finish the parsley book before the end of this Round...

message 365: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Spreadsheet updated, waiting for goal

message 366: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Read a novel with a song in it

As Apoorv said "kill me now"

message 367: by Camilla (new)

Camilla | 1885 comments Do you have any idea why the goal states "novel"? Doesn't a short story collection work for this task? I'm not 100% sure but the book I'm currently reading The Lottery and Other Stories might have had a song in it. I'm just about to go out for a walk, will check when I return.

message 368: by Apoorv (last edited Aug 26, 2015 08:32AM) (new)

Apoorv Moghe (goodreadscomapoorv) | 1267 comments The Sky is Everywhere, that I finished the other day, has poems/sonnets at the beginning and the end of literally every chapter.

You can turn poems into songs !
If not, then kill me ! :P

message 380: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Okay, after knocking 6 goals in a row (Apoorv & I were almost squealing in glee) here's the current goals:

Gannicus
- Read a book with the phrase "Whole nine yards" in a book [Tentatively Vicky]
- Read a book whose author (first or last) starts with I
- Read a book which has the main location (setting) as South America

Crixus
- Read a book with the word hot, love or steam (plurals are acceptable) in the title
- Read a book that contains the word parsley
- Read a book that is in the Amazon 2011 bestsellers (http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/...)

message 381: by Kate S (new)

Kate S | 1998 comments Whoo-hoo! Goal cascades are the best. Go Achilles!

I am almost finished listening to Cutting for Stone which is on the Amazon list.

I need to finish a couple of books I am currently reading. But I could probably fit in Love in Excess for the love task, Near to the Wild Heart set in Brazil, or The Nightingale which contains the word parsley.

I am going to the library this afternoon, so I could even do the 'I' goal if that is what we really need. I will finish Cutting for Stone soon. I have just two sections left and should get to them while making dinner.

message 382: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Cool.

I'm reading Reliquary at the moment.. but Kate Daniels keeps whispering that it is time for a re-read... that I goal doesn't help to my case :)

message 384: by Kate S (last edited Aug 26, 2015 02:46PM) (new)

Kate S | 1998 comments So, I was mistaken, I do not have "parsley" in my possession. My plan is to read the following in order, but I can certainly move things around if others have books planned or get to a goal before I. No big deal.

Cutting for Stone-#23 on the 2011 Amazon list. <- I am almost finished with this one.

Near to the Wild Heart-Set in Brazil for South America goal

Fairway to Heaven by Roberta Isleib for author name beginning with an I

Love in Excess for book with the 'love', 'heat' or 'steam' in the title.

Will update as I finish.

Happy reading all!
