Sara | 1294 comments Let me grab the penguin too. Found some in Balthazar Jones and the Tower of London Zoo by Julia Stuart, which I'm going to start soon ;)

message 152: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) That's a good/great news. I thought that restrictions were stricter. This way we have much bigger choice of books. I wish I knew that before, but at least the challenge is not over yet.
Thanks for clarifying it Sonia. And sorry for causing confusion Sara. :)

Apoorv Moghe (goodreadscomapoorv) | 1267 comments Sorry, I have been sorta MIA for the last couple of days. Have been unwell and havent touched a book in that time.
Feels ugh !

Hope you guys are doing great. You all are awesome.. and doing fantastic on the challenge. :D

Apoorv Moghe (goodreadscomapoorv) | 1267 comments Kate S wrote: "It appears there are balls and dancing in Mr. Darcy's Daughters read by Angel."

Yes, just a quick check on the word 'dance' for the book gave me a lot of options of the characters going to dancing, Mr. Sidney asking someone (Camilla?) for a dance and so on.

So, I am assuming it should work.
Now, should I wait for Angel to confirm or go ahead and post it ? Cant wait to see a new goal ! :p

Apoorv Moghe (goodreadscomapoorv) | 1267 comments On a side note (sorry if I am talking too much :P), just a kind request to everyone, that every once and often, please double check all the three spreadsheets (or spreadsheets as applicable) to see if all your books have been logged in correctly.

I know the captains and co-captains are making a great effort to keep everything on point. But just to be sure, that nothing gets missed.. kindly peep in sometime.

More the points.. merrier it is, right ? :P :D

On page 259: "How hot it was, how glaring the lights and colors of the ballroom."

The rest of that page certainly sounds like a ball to me. I say go for it!

Apoorv Moghe (goodreadscomapoorv) | 1267 comments Quick Question, team !

Do you think this is 'pink' enough for a pink cover goal ?
Yes Please by Amy Poehler
This is the only book amongst the ones that we have read and are unclaimed for a goal.

Thoughts ? :)

message 168: by Kate S (new)

Kate S | 1998 comments Oh I want to say yes so badly! Pink covers are a difficult thing for me. But I don't think there is enough pink on that cover to qualify for a pink cover. If all we need is a pink object, then yes. But I don't think we have 50% there. :(

Seems like we are on a roll about getting weird goals... :/

message 179: by Sonia (new)

Curious enough, I have one book that applies... and it's a quicker read than zero at the bone

message 181: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments I'll snatch that one for now. IF someone else reads something that fits.. I'll gladly give it to them.

message 183: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) I love it when a lot of goals go down while I am asleep. :)
I am almost finished with dinosaurs (at 93%) and since no one claimed it I am targeting pink goal next. I think Blame It on Chocolate by Jennifer Greene will do. :)

message 184: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) And dinosaurs are done (details here), pink cover here I come. :)

message 185: by Sara (new)

Sara | 1294 comments Way to go Dragana! How did you like it?
I started my penguin book today as well and hopefully it will be finished tomorrow.
And no doubt that it's a pink cover ;)

I must (shamefully) admit I am spoiled by modern books and a lot of times I wanted the narration to go way faster than it did. It has a slow start and they spend very little time with actual dinosaurs. But when you think that it was written more than 100 years ago, it's pretty well done.

Where did you find penguins in the end? (sorry if you said it already and I missed it)

I have my reservations about that pink book since heroine eats too much chocolate and slips with her boss, but it's the only pink book I own, so...

message 187: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Both Neanderthal Seeks Human (Knitting in the City, #1) by Penny Reid and Love Handles (A Romantic Comedy) by Gretchen Galway are free on amazon.

I heard very good things about neanderthal

message 188: by Sara (new)

Sara | 1294 comments I've never read anything by Conan Doyle except for Sherlock Holmes, so I'm actually rather curious.
I found penguins in Balthazar Jones and the Tower of London (thanks to Amazon search option) but I'm around page 50 so far and haven't met them yet :)

message 192: by Dragana (last edited Aug 21, 2015 05:53AM) (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) @Sonia: I actually own Neanderthal Seeks Human too. I didn't think it's pink enough, but if you say it is, I will switch to it, since I also heard a lot of good things about it and I am intrigued to find out if they are right.

@Sara: I have read only one Sherlock novel, although I have watched all the movies new and old ones. I especially like the modern version the BBC is doing. The Lost World does not really compare to it. The book most reminded me of A Natural History of Dragons.

message 193: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments I thought it had a soft pink hue, so I ran it through a color extract tool and the result is:

#f9ebde 51.1 %Bridal Heath(Pink)
#fc8bbf 22.9 %Tea Rose(Pink)

So yeah, it is pink enough.

It's a fantasy novel written in a style of classic novels in journal form. Not bad if you like that sort of books.
