I think you might have been reading wrong :D.
The next one won't go up, until the signups for May closes :).

Since reopening the threads to continue the days, I've been adding a new one every several/few days or so. I'm so glad you're enjoying that challenge, Rachel! I've really been enjoying reading people's answers, I have to say :)

I have as well enjoyed reading people's responses. There are some great suggestions out there on those threads.

I agree, there really are.

My pleasure :)
I use it myself, to get to the various challenges :D

For me personally it would be better if the Collecting Dust challenge would be for the current month, not for the next one. This is because I would first rather see what's get picked for the group reads and then choose something else entirely. If someone gets picked Jane Eyre and the group is reading Wuthering Heights, well, there might be a problem. At least if they are like me and like to read different genres. (Or both/all books are either long or short ones.)
If you need to get it from the library, well you have a couple of weeks to do that, too, if you are among the first (though I believe many of us own the books). Also my problem sometimes is what to read next, I have no idea what I want/need/have to be reading next month.

The group read and the dusty challenge are staggered, Tytti. Right now, nominations for the group reads are choosing September books, and Dusty challenge is choosing August book :). So the group book is chosen before the Dusty challenge signups start.

Me too. That's why I sign up on the last day ;-). I snuck in under the wire almost every time I signed up :D
Sorry if I'm being stupid here, I really like the idea of working my way through one of the lists you've posted links to ('Amazon's 100 books to read in a lifetime' or 'BBC's Big Read' maybe) but don't know where to actually create my list to keep track? Can you point me in the right direction please? Thank you :)

I don't think there is an easy solution for that... There probably is a listopia list already made that you might want to check them. They also say how many (of the first hundred books) you have read. Or you can copy them all to one of your own shelves. Or maybe join some group that reads them or allows you to make your own challenge (or somethink like that). Those are the choices I have come up. (I made my own secret group to try that challenge thing but it's not very convenient...)

the Amazon list you mentioned is here:
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/7...
BBCs is here:
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/2...
There was a folder somewhere around here where you could create a thread for your own challenges but that's not a very good way to keep track of a long list like the ones you've mentioned.
Your personal bookshelves are also a possibility. If you shelved all the books on a list and tagged them as that particular list, then pulled up the read shelf and the list tag together, that would show a count of how many you've read.
Thanks for the replies and suggestions, I was thinking there was a folder/thread for it (like the 'A-Z' or 'Around The World' challenges and I was just being stupid not being able to find it!

Caroline I don't know if this will fit your need, but in the Games and Challenges folder there is the thread Personal Classics Challenge. You can create you own post and list or maybe copy and past a book list you want to work on and strike off reads as you complete them.

That would definitely work. Thanks very much Bob :)

It goes like this:
First you choose a novel that you want to read. Then you choose a next book that is either
a) a parody,
b) a pastiche,
c) an imitation (is it a right word?),
d) a sequal of the previous book or
e) written from a different perspective.
My own suggestion for a challenge is a bit easier. I often seem to have a theme in the books I read so it might be funny to see how far you can go with that. So in order to add a book to you list, it would have to have some connection to the previous one (and I think they should be read in order). I think it should be something pretty clear like a country, a character or a theme or something like that. Maybe something to do with the titles, too. And you couldn't use the same connection (like an author) two times in a row but you could use another author later on. Anyone interested? I'm not sure I would be playing but it just occured to me.
