That's really a tough question to answer! I just wrote a confused/confusing review of it - confused because what I ended up saying was not what I started out with. I think the concept of what was done to Ender and the others was both scary and potentially true-to-life; remove a child from the real world, make him totally dependent on you, and then mold and manipulate. There's much more to the story than that, but that aspect hit me pretty viscerally. I rated it as a 4*, mainly because the author made me care about Ender without judging the actions of others (that was left to the reader), and because of what happened 'after the war'. I'm glad I read it, but can't say I enjoyed it, if that makes sense. It is very thought-provoking, and I plan on continuing the series.
How's that for a long answer to a short question?!
