Mike,I finally saw the Sound of Music last year. I know, we didn't have a lot of TV as kids, and only really saw movies if they were the Sunday Night Disney variety. But, I loved the Sound of Music and do need to get a copy of it.
I have seen The Quiet Man and loved it. I may have seen Big Country and/or Twelve O'Clock High, but they have likely blended into the one big western in my brain from childhood. I'll look them up! As for guy flicks, I most likely watch more of those than chick flicks.
I'm looking up the rest! I think I'm going to create a list that I keep next to the TV, and every week or so, do a search on TCM to see if they're coming up. I've got to luck out sometime!
"Another Thin Man" (that's the second or third movie) is on TCM Thursday I think. The Thin Man is on On Demand here for $2.99 I think.
I know I'm showing my "country background" but I just had a favorite meal. My daughter is going to be out late tonight (helping a friend drive vehicles back and forth) so I made an "early dinner". "Garden stuff" is just coming in so we had green beans, coleslaw, tomato and onion... I love that meal.
Yall are mostly talking about classics but I just want to toss this out there: The movie El Mariachi: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Mari...It's the first movie by the guy who did Desperado. It's 100% subtitled but I found that I really enjoyed the movie. Like Desperado it's part action flick part western.
I love love love El Mariachi! Desperado is actually the sequel to EM, and the third is Once Upon a Time in Mexico. They're set up in a similar style as Sergio Leone's trilogy, as a tribute.
Robert Rodriguez is the director. You might have heard of his other films too: Machete & Machete Kills, The Faculty, Sin City, Grindhouse (Planet Terror), Spy Kids series, and From Dusk til Dawn.
Yes, I guess I'm a fan.

Robe..."
I've watched all three. And I really enjoyed From Dusk to Dawn. I've seen Sin City but not the rest of them.
Chris wrote: "Oh wow. Just saw an alert that Peter Marquardt died. He played the drug-lord Moco in El Mariachi."O_o
Wow. It's almost like we talked it up. :(

:)

Bruce Campbell is the awesome! Even though, technically, I only know him from Burn Notice.
Laurel wrote: "We're you talking about his starring in the new Evil Dead TV show? Excited?!"Actually, I mentioned him 'cause the training guy for a new system we're learning reminds me of him - but I did just read the possibility of the TV show. I'm curious, but a bit trepidatious - not sure how they'll sustain the story for a series.
Bruce Campbell has confirmed he's in, as is Sam Raimi. I've got to hope that will result in good things :)
I don't want to turn autocorrect off. I want to be able to train it to recognize when words are actual words.
DOESN'T KNOW BRUCE CAMPBELL?!?!?!?!?!?!?!Bruce Campbell, the greatest actor of all times, the man I've patterned my life after, my hero, my role model!?
Barbarians!
My neighbour's house is under a huge remodel. The houses are quite close together and debris has been hitting our house all morning. I went out to look. The construction worker came out to question why I was there. I said things had been hitting my house and was looking for damage. He bolted. There is some damage to the front corner. The foundation has a crack and is a bit crumbled. It wasn't there a few days ago. I can't prove anything, but we have someone coming to look at it. It appears to be more like a hit than ground shifting. The noise has tried my patience. Picking debris out of my yard has tried my patience. The workers sitting on my lawn to eat their lunch has tried my patience. The guy who lives there being a world class Darwin Award candidate has driven us insane. But this is beyond the pale. I'm waiting to hear what the expert says before I start a war. However, I'm furious!
Must admit i didn't know who Bruce Campbell was, so i checked out imdb and lo and behold i still haven't a clue.
Laurel, hang in there and try to be patient. But have the damage checked out.Gerard...you are dead to me. Only the truly evil, don't know the great Bruce Campbell.
Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way

Laurel - You should totally go take pics of your house, so that if there's any damage you can have before and after pics.
Gerard,Bruce Campbell could out swagger Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Tom Cruise. Not one of them can hold a candle to his chin.
I am currently sitting in the Susquehanna Bank Center waiting for the NIN and Soundgarden concert to start. Boo-yah.
Pals?I'm prepping for my pitch sessions at the writers convention next weekend, and I've written a synopsis/pitch that's like the back cover of a book. Would it be okay for me to post it somewhere for some feedback?
Had a good time last night - the show was great, but it sucks being short.Had to come home and drink lots of water. Not 'cause I was drunk or anything, just 'cause I didn't drink anything for fear of having to pee constantly. o_O

Felina, I'm gonna start calling you Felina Snow, 'cause you know nothing. ;)
