Thanks for moderating, Zara!
I have read 6/10. Update to Msg #313. The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America. Why did it take me so long to read this book?
Lorelei, do you mean that it took you a long time to get through or a long time for it to make it to the top of your "to read" pile? What did you think of the book? It's on my to-read list.

You're not the only one I'm sure Cassandra. I have a feeling I may be there with you as well.
Hi,I've updated message 295.
I've read
as a bonus book and
as one of the planned books.I don't think I'll be able to read the two other planned books this year, but since I've read the amount of books I was supposed to read as bonus books, I'll consider this challenge a succes.
I do expect to read at least one more bonus book of this list, though.
I completed two of my lists. All of these books were great. I'll be reading more from both these lists.

Well done Candiss
Hi,I've added two more books to my challenge
Siddhartha and The Handmaid's Tale and I noticed that I have forgotten to mention El coronel no tiene quien le escriba, so I've added that too.
17/8
The Truth About Lord Stoneville - Sabrina Jeffries (12/8/14).5/5 That completes my Listopia challenge for the year.
I've finished Like Water for Chocolate, which is also on my list. Updated msg 295.I'm now going to try and finish the two books that I originally planned and haven't read yet.

Cassandra wrote: "What did you think of Like Water for Chocolate, Angelique?"I liked it! It was fun to see how the author managed to incorporate a few recipes. And I loved how Tita managed to get back on top of things every time life put her down. Didn't think Pedro deserved to eat her food though, what a whimp.
I missed some great books published this year (I read a lot of great books too) so I thought I'd try this list. Best Books of 2014

The Invention of Wings
An Unnecessary Woman
The Paying Guests
To Rise Again at a Decent Hour
Henna House
The Hundred-Year House
Alias Hook
The Shadow Queen

WooHoo Candiss. Only one more to go. You can do it.
Sadly I won't be able to finish this challenge. Thanks Zara for your positive comments and for moderating this challenge.
Lorelei wrote: "Sadly I won't be able to finish this challenge. Thanks Zara for your positive comments and for moderating this challenge."That's OK Lorelei. Did you have fun with it anyway?
I've completed my challenge of 40 books (just in the nick of time)! I'm not going to update my original message because I ended up changing a lot of my original plan, but if you're interested in seeing what I read you can check out my member's corner. Thank you for leading this challenge, Zara. It was so much fun and I'm looking forward to doing it again next year!
