Hello, I believe this is the wrong thread for that sort of request. Even so, I added the books to the series for you.

"Resplendence Gems - Stand Alone Short Stories series"
Not entirely, sure but I think "Resplendence" refers to the publisher?
And if they are stand-alone, do they even need a series?
Someone added (Stand Alone Short Stories #) to all the titles too, which will probably have to be edited. :0/
If they're going to be listed in a series and if they are stand-alone, they shouldn't be #ed, IMO.

They are all by a single author, but there doesn't seem to be a series that corresponds to these. (I thought at first they mighty be non-sequence shorts in a shared world from a series, but it seems like that is not the case.)

It seems to apply to all editions of each work, and be ok for a non-fiction series. They have more than just a theme in common, as the series description outlines.

So, should it be deleted? And the titles edited to removed the Series/#?
Or should they stay in a series, but remove the #ing and keep them bunched together?

Edit: Done - series deleted and tiles have series/# removed.

The names of the series (collection) also implies they are different than a series.

Someone familiar with the author should be able to clarify whether those have common characters, etc.

All of the editions of Anya Seton's "Katherine" list it as being part of a series called Katherine #1.1. If you look at the description of the series itself, this appears to apply ONLY to the Croatian language edition.
What is the correct way to proceed on fixing this?
Thanks (newbee)

Re: #264
Arenda,
As much as I would love to keep these as series, they really aren't. The one closest to a Goodreads series is the Louisiana History collection. I will delete them, but I am going to add static lists for them before I do so it may take some time.

264 has now been handled and the series are deleted
Thank you.

It looks like Arabic translations of various Harlequin romances.

I would have to agree with you.

On the other hand, it's probably in the title anyway, and the HQN horror project has kind of run out of steam, so deleting the series won't hurt much.
(NVM All that anyway, I found the old posts, and it was a different series - but that's likely why there's still a lot of those HQN ones floating around.)

Maybe we should keep it around a bit then and add a note to it about how it is being used and that it will be deleted when we're done. At least we should combine these editions with the other editions of the same work.
Just a thought.

But as I said, the numbers should be in the titles (or moved to the edition field where they belong) so I don't think deleting the series will do any harm.

Also, there are a ton of titles on the list that need to be decapitalized.

The link in the description is to a French Wikipedia page: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voyages..., from which I gather that Jules Verne suggested his publisher create a collection* of his works called Voyages extraordinaires. There have been republications of this collection with similar bindings and there is also one in MMP format, but as far as I can tell only in French.
*Personally I think a collection is not a series and AFAIK these books only have a common theme, not a shared universe or shared characters (but I'm not that familiar with Verne's books).
If it is deemed a series, at the very least the series title should be in French.
ETA I found this description in English (not an approved site for info, I know): https://www.epubbooks.com/series/1-vo...

"The Pulp Friction 2014 Collection. Four authors. Four Series. Twenty books. One fiery finale. Spend a year with an eclectic group of strangers brought together through circumstances, as they are tested by life, and emerge as more than friends.
The strongest bonds are forged by fire, cooled in air, smoothed by water, grounded in earth.
Although each series can stand alone, we believe reading the books in the order they are released will increase your enjoyment. "
It seems like it might be, but I am not 100% sure.
Also, the series are listed incorrect (or so they show up incorrectly):
Firestorm (Fighting Fire #1) (Pulp Friction 2014 #1)
Not: Firestorm (Fighting Fire #1; Pulp Friction 2014 #1) - so they don't do that weird incomplete series linkage thing.
I was going to fix them, but wanted to make sure Pulp Friction was a series before I bothered editing everything and wasting my time.
Also found one for "Pulp Friction 2013"
https://www.goodreads.com/series/1493...
And "Pulp Friction 2015"
https://www.goodreads.com/series/1489...
Also with the incorrect multi-series labeling in the titles.
So if anyone can let me know if these are series, I'll start fixing their titles so they show up properly.
If not, I'll delete the Pulp Friction series and edit those out of the titles.
Unless someone else wants to (also) do that out as well.

Starting a new thread is always fine, and is preferred in many instanced.
It sounds like it has characters in common, so that would be a series.

Okay, thanks! I'll keep that in mind for any future questions.
And I will work on fixing the series names in the titles, so they're listed properly.

They're nothing to do with one another except that they appeared in the same collection.

Even worse, it looks as if the stories themselves shouldn't have been added as separate book records.
