Is this a series?

I'm inclined to delete"
It looks like it is being used to group parts of a book together, which is allowed. It should not have the whole book attached
rivka wrote: "Paula wrote: " It should not have the whole book attached"Agreed. Removed the full book."
Has the book numbering been removed on purpose?
Currently it says "book part x of n" on all books and parts. Also this seems to be more then one book separated in parts, Are all full books to be removed? Are we making separate series now for series that contain different numbers of books?
Ellie, this is not a typical series, but a way to collect a book that was broken into parts for foreign publication. Therefore, the full book is not part of the series, and the parts are broken up that way.
Just so I understand better which books are in a series, and which are an imprint, would this collection of books (as an example I came across) be considered a series or an imprint ? Why?
Angela wrote: "Just so I understand better which books are in a series, and which are an imprint, would this collection of books (as an example I came across) be considered a series or an imprint ? Why?"I would say imprint.
The books do not share character(s) or location. The theme is only thing that connects the books, and that would be more imprint by GR standards.
Are imprints notated somehow differently than a series? For instance, if the above is really an imprint, would there be a way to tell, as it looks like a series to my untrained eye.
Another example that I would think would be an imprint, but seems to be a series:
My Name is America
Thanks!

One major difference: if an imprint is incorrectly added as a series, librarians who notice will delete it.

This doesn't seem to be a series, but an imprint: https://www.goodreads.com/series/9449...Is it as simple as putting them on a Listopia (since I'm a nice guy) and deleting the series, or does something more need to be done to make it go away?

It looks like a magazine anthology series like Analog or Fantasy & Science Fiction Magazine.

Yup.
Yup.
I am not sure if this book: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...is part of this series: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
or not. If it is I don't know what number it is. Any advice? :)

Since it is a compilation of the books in the series, think of it as an omnibus edition. I went ahead and added this one.
For the future:
Yes to adding it to the series
It would be numbered with the volumes in the book (1-3 in this case)
Uncheck the primary work box
More series questions sorry! These two books
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
that I am about to edit are both (supposedly) book two in a series. What do I do about that? They were both published on the same dates so I don't know which one to put first. :)

I would label them both as book 2 (doesn't really matter which is which, though I'm partial to alphabetical). But make sure you add a series description, so that users understand that there what amounts to 2 options for book 2.
Here is the author's webpage about the books:

I would just copy what she wrote.
Rachel wrote: "Thanks again! I am a little hopeless at this. :)"Practice makes perfect :)
Those of us answering questions have asked our fair share, and still do.
@Amanda I have to agree with that! The more edits I make, the more I learn about the manual and what + how to do what I need to. :)
Is "Les Miserables" a series? Or maybe the "series" is useful for some editions separated in many volumes?https://www.goodreads.com/series/1025...
If it's ok, maybe at least the complete novel should be deleted from the series? At the moment it's "book #1", so that EVERY edition, even if it's the complete work, it's "Les Miserables #1"...
The complete edition should not be there, it is fine to use series functions to group together volumes
Paula wrote: "The complete edition should not be there, it is fine to use series functions to group together volumes"Ok, I removed the complete editions from the series, now I don't about the order (book 3, 4, ect)
No, definitely an imprint. Someone probably wants to remove the "series" data from titles and maybe create a listopia before it gets zapped though.

Also I think that here single volumes are combined with editions with all the tragedies together
There are two series for the Mordecai books. https://www.goodreads.com/series/1445...
https://www.goodreads.com/series/6753...
Neither reflected the publication order, which, from Worldcat and Wikipedia was:
1) Don't Point That Thing At Me
2) Something Nasty In The Woodshed
3) After You With The Pistol
But I believe that stemmed from the fact that the first date of publication was listed incorrectly for #2 and #3. I've corrected those, and left one series in the order they "should be read in" according to the note that was there (and which matches the trilogy omnibus order) and the other at date of publication. But my question is, do we normally allow two series with the exact same books, or make a decision on the "correct" order?

What exactly is your question ?

This one I think is ok, it appears to be linking vols of one work together which is allowed, although I edited the description as that implied an imprint series
The other was not - it appeared to be collecting specific imprint books together that where not vols of the same work
The first volume however is still combined with 100+ other editions that have likely nothing to do with the series: should it be separated?
Anyone able to answer my question in #89: Do we normally allow two series with the exact same books, or make a decision on the "correct" order?
In such cases there can be more than one series. The Chronicles of Narnia has also two series, Publication Order and Chronological Order
Should this be a series? There is no mention of a series title in the copies I have, but this book: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6...is the follow-up to this book: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
and they were later published together in one volume:

Have tidied up the ordering, but does anyone want to take it over to Listopia if it's to be deleted?
