Are coast guards independent of the military? I'll put them in. If they are part of the military, then I'd love a break down within the Services to make this harder ;)

Eg. perhaps the MCs are at a rodeo and a rodeo clown enters the ring... etc

Elise, Border Guard would be non-military - ie function of the government in the public service? I'll put it in :)
OK - Dee has confirmed the following:technically the Marines fall under the Dept of the Navy, and the Coast Guard under the Dept of Transport (except in a time of war, when they fall under the jurisdiction of the Navy)
...but for the purpose of this challenge we will separate them out :)

If you know that he is on the job and not responding out of hours, then I think you can take him to have his uniform on...

Mark off the uniforms as you read. You can only mark off one uniform per book. You must have read about that person actually wearing their designated uniform. They do not need to be main characters, and can even be no more than a cameo role in the storyline - BUT - they must be 'seen' by the reader in uniform!
Books read for this challenge may be used in other challenges. Rereads are fine. This challenge is not gender specific.
We've tried to make this pretty darn difficult to achieve the full list, but one of you crazy readers will no doubt manage it!
Feel free to mark this list off each quarter, as you go through your books. You could be surprised at how many you spot!
