Now I'm tempted to re-read it with you guys but it depends where I am with Malazan. It'd be cool to catch up with the Fallen group but that's kind of a tall order.

So you guys do know that Guy Gavriel Kay wrote a lot of other books besides Tigana too. How about reading or even dare I say it discussing those books too?
I'm going off the list. Plus I own it and haven't read it. Most of the people who plan to participate haven't read it either.
You're welcome to try to organize a read for one of his other books, but so long as I'm the only one organizing I'm going to pick what I want assuming others are interested.

I'm guess all of you missed it when Sword and Laser did back in May of 2012.
I joined in October, started reading in November. Read Tigana in November and plan to read more Kay. Just don't know when.
I'm going to be busy the next week or so, but I could do between the 20th and the 30th or so. After that I'm probably busy until late November or December.
Alright. I'll add it to the shelf and create a section, but I'm leaving it up to you for the rest :)
Have any of the rest of you read Zero Sight? I see all the Dresden love and can't help but think that this one would be very well received.
Rob wrote: "I'm going to be busy the next week or so, but I could do between the 20th and the 30th or so. After that I'm probably busy until late November or December."Thats ok with me, means I can a couple of quick reads done.
Alex wrote: "OK sections added! This should be an interesting read since I can read it off my phone too...I've never tried that, so I'll see if I like it or not. I hope it syncs across all my devices."Using the Kindle app? If so, it does, and syncs to Audible as well. Though I have a Kindle, I do almost all of my reading/listening on my phone. I think it's because I secretly hate my eyes...
Sky wrote: "Have any of the rest of you read Zero Sight? I see all the Dresden love and can't help but think that this one would be very well received."I have that buried in my TBR somewhere.

Me too apparently.

Alex wrote: "Aye. (context isn't important, right?)"Ah, now everything is clear. I honestly have no idea, but I'd be interested to know if that's the case.
I have Unfettered to read, and I plan to get Dangerous Woman in December, but in general I don't do a lot of anthologies or short stories.
Dangerous Woman sounds like a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to that one - but god knows when i'll get around reading it so best not plan for me.ps: finally got republic of thieves! so i'll start that one this week
I want to read Unfettered but I feel so pressed to reach my goal this year because it's taking me so long to read each Malazan book.

Simple. No one organized it, and I'm not about to since I'm too busy & would rather wait.
Even if I bought the ebook or something, the earliest I'd participate the end of November I think between the November S&L pick and The Dragon Keeper.
MPauli is supposed to be reading Tigana with us starting 11/10, though he seems to be overbooked lately.

I'm still up for Blood Song but I am kind of booked (haha) until January. If you read before then I will try to squeeze it in.
I'm still (im)patiently waiting for my library to get a copy of Republic of Thieves. I could put in a purchase request but it took them about 1.5 years the last time I did that.
So I put Skin Game on the group shelf for next month based on a tentative release date of 12/3 despite no idea if anyone wanted to discuss it or not because that's a drop what I'm doing and read kind of book. And I'll drag as many of you along as I can.
It just gives you late adapters some extra time to catch up...
Anyways it's not looking like that date is going to be a good one. There still is no cover art and Mr. Butcher's official site has yet to even hint at a date.
Sooo..is there any interest in something in December?
The Black Prism maybe?

I would suggest The Ghost Brigades since it seemed like everyone who read Old Man's War really enjoyed the book.

I'd do that one too. Although I just got Fuzzy Nation from the Audible Daily Deal so I might be listening to that after I finish Hounded.
Back to Back Scalzi wouldn't be awful though.

I was pretty underwhelmed by dirty streets, I may read more eventually, but likely only if I can get the audio from the library.
I'm in for Skin Game whenever it comes out, it's a 'drop everything and read' book for me too.Planning to read Old Man's War in the next few months, would be up for The Ghost Brigades after probably...or I could just read the comments you've all made if you read it before I'm ready :)
I would be in for Ghost Brigade, Thousand Names or The Black Prism. All are on my to-read list.As I've only read the first Dresden Files novel so far, Skin Game is way off for me.

Slacker. I obviously haven't expressed to you how much better the series gets because there is no good reason for you to have only read the first book..

Rob wrote: "...there is no good reason for you to have only read the first book."Well, the first book was a little underwhelming. It took me a few months to try the second, then maybe another month for the third, and then it was straight through to the 8th so I could begin waiting with the masses...
I'll throw Zero Sight back in there, because it's very good, even though B. Justin Shier is probably too busy saving lives to finish the trilogy.
Lindsay Buroker recently finished her series starting with The Emperor's Edge, which is free and also pretty good.
I was also not especially impressed with The Dirty Streets, but The Thousand Names sounds interesting.
Sounds like thousand names has decent interest. Since you suggested it Alex, do you want to be discussion leader?
Also, what dates work for everyone? I'm planning to read the s&l pick at the start of December, and hopefully rain wild #2 as well, but no real date for that yet.

Rob wrote: "Mpauli wrote: "Slacker. I'm just thinking about listening to them as my good night audiobooks, cause I'm sold on James Masters and UF works better for me in a audio format than Epic Fantasy or Space Opera.
I still plan to read the new books rather than listen. I'm too impatient to do audio. I'll do an audio reread at some point though.
Alex wrote: "I will set up the topics for The Thousand Names when I get to my copy at home. What time does everyone want to start? Is the Monday after American Thanksgiving (December 2) OK?"
Sounds good to me. :)
