I'd like Sirius to be alive too, but I think, he'd be much happier with his bestfriend James, and then Lupin too.
Fred has to be alive cause well, its supposed to be the TWINS! Not one! >.< And Dobby. Cause Dobby's got to get more socks on Christmas! Hedwig because she was his only connection to his real magical world, even when he was alone with the Dursleys. She was the most reliable =(
Snape and Dumbledore did their part (brilliantly), so I think they've already lived to their full extent =)

I get why Remus and Tonks had to die. It brings the story full circle. Teddy is Harry and Neville in one. Orphaned in a fight against Voldemort, to be raised by his grandmother, and now Harry is the Godfather. With Teddy, it will all be done right instead of terribly wrong like Harry's life.
As sad as I was for Sirius to go, would have liked Harry to have at least one parental type figure left, I agree Harry wouldn't have developed the way he needed to with him still alive. The rest were also necessary for his development as a character.

Thats true! Nice logic!

I agree with you, more or less. I wouldn't want to change them from the way they were written. They died how and when they died for their own individual reasons, and though each pulled on my heartstrings, that was the entire point.

Not to mention the other two fantastic charecters that sadly got killed by the wands of Voldemort. Hedwig and Mad Eye Moody.
I for one was more sad that Hedwig (an owl!!)sacraficed his life then Dobby the annoying elf.

Hermione????? Hagrid????? They didn't die.

I wanted something happy to come out of Sirius' tragic life.

As much as I really want to say Snape, Dumbledore and Sirius, the truth is that they had to. The story would not have progressed the way it did with out those deaths.
But those three, they didn't HAVE to happen. They were there only to show the horrors of war, not to motivate Harry along his path.

you mean LUPIN ('U' not 'I')
anyway.... I would save FRED, DOBBY, JAMES AND LILY, TONKS, LUPIN.... have i missed anyone?
Snape, lupin, tonks, dobby, regulus black

THANK YOU!

What do you think about Dobby?"
Dobby is a favorite, but I tried to think of people that would make a huge difference for the survivors. Fred's death devastated Georg..."
I agree. I would save the characters that really would've made a difference (in a good way) and save their loved ones their despair.

Fred's death was kind of useless, maybe if there was a little more elaboration around his character it would have mattered. I am not saying that Fred didn't matter, only that his death didn't bring anything to the story except more drama and sadness for Harry.
Dobby died a martyr, that part was so beautiful and touching despite the sadness, with Harry burying him without using magic.
I think I would save Hedwig, as her death symbolized not only the loss of innocence for Harry but also the end of an era.

I would not save Sirius, to be honest. Because i don't understand the love for him and James. If i had people like that in my school/life, i'd probably hate them (or not like them at the very least...)

the second one would have to be Snape and i don't know why i chose him maybe the reason why is because of his sarcastic dry humour.
i think the last one would be Fred because he's part of the Weasley family and he was so funny.
