Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Who would you save that died in Harry Potter?
I'm torn between Sirius, Remus, Tonks, Dobby, Fred, Dumbledore, Snape, James, Lily, Hedwig...You know what? I can't choose whom I'll bring back. That's cruel, there are so many awesome characters that have died. I'm still not over their deaths, so right now I'm going to go and dream myself into a world where they're still alive.
Hopefully I won't break down crying before then. Hopefully.

Dobby is a favorite, but I tried to think of people that would make a huge difference for the survivors. Fred's death devastated George; Sirius would have been the father that Harry never had; and Teddy was orphaned.
So, while it would have been nice to save Dobby, there are others I would have saved first.
Fred, Sirius, and Remus. Fred's death was unnecessary.
Fred, Sirius, Remus, Tonks, James, Lily, DOBBY... I'd have saved so many people that Harry Potter would become a Disney money, seriously
Sirius, Lupin and Tonks. And Fred.Sirius was my favourite and he definitely needed to live. Lupin needed to survive, especially for Teddy and he was just so cool. What's the point of Lupin surviving if Tonks is dead? Fred Weasley was just awesome and you can't have George without Fred.
Lupin, Tonks, DumbledoreThree of the coolest characters in the series, as well as important role models for the surviving characters.
EVERY BODY!!!! lolzzz... okay let me lower my numbers. Dumbledore, Lupin, Snape, Fred, Mad eye, Hedwig, Dobby, Tonks, Sirius.......
Fred, Remus, and Tonks. I would keep Fred alive for Molly, George, and all the Weasleys. Also, how will George run Weasley's Wizarding Weazes without his partner?? :( I would save Remus and Tonks because of little Teddy. He should have been able to grow up with the family that Harry never had. Also, Lupin could still have been there for Harry as a kind of uncle-figure. I know lots of people think Sirius or Dumbledore should have lived, but I think their deaths were really important to the storyline and to Harry's development. It was really those two deaths that forced Harry to grow up and that eventually led to him being able to sacrifice himself to save the lives of everyone inside Hogwarts. Of course, I'd love to save Dobby or Hedwig too, but can't bring myself to do it at the expense of human beings with families and people who cared for them and even were dependent on them.

While I loved all the characters in the books, I don't think you can really bring back Sirius, Dumbledore, or Snape. Remus, Tonks, and Fred really didn't need to die, and out of all the characters, they should be saved. However, I think their deaths add more to the story. It makes the whole battle against Voldemort more realistic. Otherwise, like Kinny said, it would be a Disney movie. Throughout the series they always talk about how many lives were affected by Voldemort. It only makes sense that some of the main characters are also directly affected.
Remus, Tonks, Fred. Teddy needed Remus and Tonks- as did Harry. And really didn't Remus deserve some happiness in life? And Fred was just too much... Dumbledore would have gotten in the way as it were. They would need to form a new way of life, with new leaders. Sirius' death was awful but a must for Harry's development as a character. The same can be said for Snape. And no matter what Harry said/ did Snape would have been unhappy and left out in the end.
Noone. lol I wouldnt save any of the characters. If i did it would change the story and I think that the people who died added so much to the series that if any of them were saved it would take away from the books.
Dobby, Remus and Tonks. Dumbledore and Sirius sort of had to die because it impacted Harry so much. I fell soooo bad for little Teddy. All orphaned and alone.
Sirius Fred Dumbledore - they each had someone (Harry, George, the whole wizarding world) that desperately needed them to stay in this world
Overall, I would like to have saved Cedric Diggory. He was a kid, and he was the best of Hogwarts. He had so much room to grow and so many dreams that went forever unrealized. Remus/Tonks. At least one of them. Teddy needs parents.

When Sirius died, it broke my heart, but there was no way Harry could have done all that he did, with Sirius alive. No death was unnecessary.
Sirius, Fred, and Lupin I picked Lupin instead of Tonks because having his son was finally something that he could love and be proud of his life that was fully his life had a lot of hardships and struggle, but raising and loving his son would have been happy and something I think that he deserved to have

I agree with you so much on that one especially about sirius because harry deserved at least some family even if they werent related they were close.

The moment in which Harry sees the whole family gathered around Fred's body, he realizes that he is (and should be) alone in fighting Voldemort. This is the point when he becomes aware that if he would take his friends any further, he would kill them. I think that only the death of a family member could have really stopped Ron from following Harry. That's why Fred had to die.
I would save Lily, James, and Ariana Dumbledore. Saving Lily and James would mean Harry still had his parents, who could work with him to stop Voldemort, thus changing the course of events. Saving Ariana before she was attacked by those Muggle boys would save her having such a sad life and save her family from a lot of grief. I would drop several heavy rocks on the Muggle boys' heads before they even came near Ariana.
