I'm currently reading Dressing the Dragon by Rinelle Grey - it's a novella; when I'm done I'm going to start The Natural Way of Things by Charlotte Wood

message 14952: by Ryan (new)

Ryan I finished Sandkings. It was very good and very short and now I'm reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. I hope it's as good as the movie it inspired.

Virginia | 39 comments I reading a quirky crime novel set in Kiribati in the Pacific. Food of Ghosts by Marianne Wheelaghan So far there's a great sense of place, some weird superstition around the grisly murder and a female protagonist with unusual flaws.

K | 1143 comments I am flying through Backstage Pass (Sinners on Tour, #1) by Olivia Cunning right now. I don't usually read erotica- I always think of it as super trashy garbage- but this one actually has a good story and characters behind it too! It's a good little freebie I got iBooks.

MaryG2E (goodreadscommaryg2e) | 934 comments Currently reading Red Queen by Honey Brown Red Queen by Honey Brown. Talk about a psychological thriller! I'm really, seriously tense at the moment. Have to put down the book and take a little breather! Remarkable.

K | 1143 comments I finished Backstage Pass (Sinners on Tour, #1) by Olivia Cunning in 24 hours and I gave it 5 stars. Wow, I actually loved this! And not because of its more gratuitous parts, but because I could really relate to Myrna's situation with her ex and I think it's so cool that she found someone like Brian to heal her. I feel like he helped me to heal a little, too!

message 14964: by Neko (new)

Neko i also started reading Risk by Fleur Ferris tonight..3 books on the go.

message 14965: by B the BookAddict (new)

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) I have just picked up my brand new hardcover copy of Infinite Home by Kathleen Alcott. I can tell from the very first paragraph that this is going to be an exceptional novel. The reviews of Diane S, Larry and Terri in AAB lead me to purchase the book. All the library books on my coffee table have taken a back seat, I'm starting my new book today.

Ryan I just started Shirley Jackson's The Lottery.

message 14981: by Kate (new)

Kate Murdoch (tall-and-tan) | 5 comments I've recently finished 'Song Bird' by Christine M Knight. It was a most engaging read. I loved every reading minute. I have also read its sequel 'Life Song', another wonderful character-driven story.

On a related matter, I continue to be amazed that books purchased through the Book Depository UK cost less including postage than one ordered in Australia. Australia Post needs to seriously review their price structure - lower prices mean more users.

message 14982: by Ryan (new)

Ryan You can only lower your prices so far before you're operating a charity rather than a business.

Sally906 | 86 comments Getting stuck into Palace of Tears by Julian Leatherdale Palace of Tears by Aussie writer Julian Leatherdale

He is slowly setting up the story but his writing is beautiful. set in 2013 but recalling history from 1903 onwards with flashbacks I am really enjoying it - despite the fact that it is almost 600 pages long.

Actually it is a testimony to how well he writes that he is sustaining my interest. I'm loving it, and berating myself for keeping putting it off!

The print is quite large (although not a large print book, if that makes sense) which I think contributes to its size - but also contributes to its ease of reading :)
