Amy, the time frame for moving a thread into "Query Abandoned" is two years from the most recent activity of the OP in the thread. Also the thread needs to contain a post from the moderator asking if the OP is still looking.

Example: OP posts in June 2014. Moderator posts in August 2015 "Are you still looking?" This is not ready to be moved to Abandoned because two years have not passed. It could be moved to Abandoned in June 2016, assuming the OP hasn't made any new posts in the thread.

Or: OP posts in 2012. OP bumps thread in 2013, January 2014. Moderator posts in March 2015 "Are you still looking?" No responses. This could be moved to Abandoned in January 2016 since that's 2 years from the last time the OP posted in the thread.

Regarding Possibly Solved, I never move a thread into Possibly Solved - I leave that up to the OP. If a mod asks the OP if they want it moved into Possibly Solved and they say yes, then we would move it.

None of these have reached the 2 year mark yet, so they can stay in Unsolved.

Sorry, I thought I read somewhere in the informational topics that Abandoned Query was two years of inactivity or one week after not responding to a moderator. Good to know.

Amy, I think we've all shared the frustration of not being able to solve a book request. Sometimes it's just a matter of timing and luck.

The only reason we didn't move that to NWNK is because the deleted member created a new thread (Felicia) here:

That's too bad. I was curious what the book was. However, depending on how detailed the book query is, sometimes we're able to call something Solved even without OP confirmation (we occasionally do this for Abandoned requests). I moved it to Now we'll never know which is what we do with deleted user threads.
