It does, except if the remaining thread only contains a post which has no real content. So if the OP posts, and a mod or someone else asks a follow up question like "when did you read it, remember the cover?" etc., it doesn't make a lot of sense to have that post just sitting by itself, so we'll delete the thread.

Hmm. That topic/thread was created on Jun 29, 2007, around two weeks after this group was created (Jun 12, 2007, I think). Goodreads was still very new - it launched in Jan 2007. So I'm guessing that thread was "misfiled" due to a mix-up or bug.
