30.4 Cindy AL’s Wedding

Option B. White Dress for Purity.
Read a book whose cover is at least 50% white. I read The Oxford Book of Gothic Tales by Chris Baldick The Oxford Book of Gothic Tales, ed. by Chris Baldick.

Option C. The Dress. Read a book with a dress on the cover. I read Orchard by Larry Watson Orchard by Larry Watson. Though she’s decapitated and half hidden by the guy embracing her, the girl on the cover wears a dress, most of which you can clearly see.

30.5 Sandy’s Historical Dialogue

Book 1. “Historical Fiction” as a GR genre: I read Rose by Martin Cruz Smith, 416 pages.

Book 2. Non-fiction dealing with the subject matter of book 1: I read Coal: A Human History by Barbara Freese, 320 pages. Rose is a mystery set in the coal mining camps of Victorian England. Coal is a history of the importance of coal and how humans have used it, with special attention to its use in Britain where it was once called “the Best Stone in Britain.” 320 pages

30.7 Dee Dee’s Scattegories

I “rolled” the letter “D.” Then I rolled a 3 and a 4.
Roll of 3: Male author one of his names begins with D. I read Ranting Again by Dennis Miller.
Roll of 4: Female author one of her names begins with D. I read Final Harvest by Emily Dickinson.

CLAIM ONE BIG BOOK for Oxford Book of Gothic Tales, 533 pages. This is the book I started in the week before the challenge began. I didn’t get far into it then, but I’ve been reading stories from it, little by little, ever since. I may not have plowed through it, but it’s a Five-Star collection.

I rolled a 1,4.

1. Read the next book in a series you like. I read Dirty Laundry: A Tucker Springs Novel by Heidi Cullinan. *GR Author. This book is #3 in a series.

4.Read a book by an author (living or dead) that you'd love to meet. I read Being Me by Lisa Renee Jones *GR Author. I am really enjoying this series and would love to meet the author. I follow her on twitter and enjoy her upbeat attitude and relationship with her fans.

*These two books are interchangeable. Being Me is the second in a series and can be used for #1 and Heidi Cullinan is an author I would love to meet (#4). I am enjoying her Tucker Springs series very much.
