Drat! I have to review two books for the blog next week and none fit the shelf (I so wished we had gotten a more generic shelf!)No clue what I'll read...and unless I can find a #2 in the series audiobook that's also in the shelf, I won't be able to finish it this next week (the two other books I have to read are in ebook so I could fit an audio easier and I need to read a #2 in series for another challenge.)
CONGRATULATIONS, Moonlight Furies! You now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'assassins'.

Good Job!! :D
I have had a hellish week and not had any time to read, I'll most likely be catching up over the weekend & next week. The joys of sick kids, being sick yourself & running about silly with all the end of year school stuff going on.
I started my strong heroines book this morning and am hoping to play catch up this week or so on my free space, book boyfriends, and the yet to be announced shelf this week books.
Thanks ladies, I am starting to feel better, just the lasting icky feeling you get as a migraine starts to pass. My 3 little lovelies are on the mend & I am a proud Mummy after yesterdays awards ceremonies :D
Caleb graduated nursery yesterday, he starts school in August (scarily). Finlay, my eldest took part in a presentation (actually stood on stage & spoke - which is huge for an 8yr old with Autism), he received his record of achievement for the year which included numerous certificates for participating in tasks, overcoming challenges, stepping out of his comfort zone etc. The stuff that kids usually do without any problems but takes us months to prepare him to just consider it and he got an attendance award. He's also being moved up a class this year as he's doing so well, so yeah... Proud Mummy! :)

Review: OMG, what an ending! I'm so freaking glad I have the ARC of the last book ready to go. The first half was a bit slow with lots of machinations but the second half more than made up for it. It made me cry and my heart was pounding. At the beginning I was wondering why Elisa was bothering with all the Queen crap (seemed like a huge headache) but by the end you can definitely see her taking the reigns.
And Hector! **swoons**
I can't wait to see how it all ends!

So far i have enjoyed myself quite a bit with this series. I like the Romeo & Juliet thing that is going on in the book and, also that it's not all about teen love drama, but more adventure :) It was great book with amazing story!
My two weeks from hell are finally over and as soon as I've rested a bit I'll get right on updating our lists and catching up with my books. I've already finished one of them but have yet to write a review for it so that's on my to-do list as well.Happy reading everyone and sorry for being MIA lately..
Well, the two books I want/need to read
are in the cover love shelf (only one person but still.) Now I need to decide which one I'll read.

Whitney, My Love by Judith McNaught - ★★★★ (6/21/2013)
Shelf: Book Boyfriends
A bit drawn out, but definitely worth reading.
Whitney and Clayton have a long way to go before they reach their happily ever after and they take quite a few wrong turns along the way as well.
A young hellion, Whitney is sent off to France to live with her aunt and uncle by her father, in hopes to grow up and out of her wildness and into a lovely young lady who would not constantly scandalize with her behavior. Whitney, nursing a crush on a young man who's seen her at her worst vows to make the most of the situation and takes her lessons seriously and soon starts seeing the results.
A lot less wild and grown into a beautifully poised woman, Whitney makes an impression and has scores of admirers in France, yet she still longs to return and show her childhood crush how much she's changed, in hopes of finally being with him. She refuses several wedding proposals and becomes friends with a Nicholas DuVille, who I found myself rooting for at some points, but still she persists hoping to be reunited with her childhood crush.
Things don't exactly go as she wants them, though, and she catches the eye of the Duke of Claymore, who uses strange methods to get her to become his wife.
The couple fights a lot and let misunderstandings get between them, but they somehow find their way back to one another every time. Whitney was manipulative and her roundabout ways were frustrating at some points, and so were Clayton's assumptions that led to conclusions he didn't bother verifying and turned him into a vindictive bastard.
I suppose that they fact that both the characters and the story gave me strong feelings is a sign of a well written book, but they did tire me when they were at their worst. Still, the book is well written, the story is long and well thought out and the characters layered, if not always likable, and I enjoyed reading about them.
Next, comes the third book in the Westmoreland saga, Until You.

Review:
There is not much to say in this review since it's the final book without giving any spoilers away except that I really liked the ending to the Darkness Rising trilogy! It was nostalgic seeing some familiar faces from the Darkest Powers trilogy!
I'll probably change my choice for the cover love shelf to
. I started it on Sunday and I'm almost done with it while I'm barely 7% into
.
I have finished both Wicked Beat & Tiger Magic, I'll get my reviews written up tomorrow. Only 1 book behind now & I should get it read & reviewed this week. The kids stop for their summer holidays tomorrow so things will calm down a bit.

Review: This is one of those books that went from cute, to full of drama and hysterics, to maudlin, to tiresome. It really needed some editing because I think the author has some talent but she just beat some jokes to death. Who wants to repeatedly read long winded metaphors about cliffs when people are getting it on? Seriously?
The sexing happened WAY after there was any sexual tension left. By the time they did it, there was no spark between them. I just wanted it to be over.
Not recommend the audio which for some reason is WAY longer than the printed book should be.

Something Strange and Deadly - Susan Dennard - ★★★★ (6/26/2013)
Shelf: Strong Heroines
Surprisingly good!
Eleanor Fitt, our heroine, is very brave and loyal to a fault. She gets mixed in things she knows nothing about and despite being in over her head she is determined to do whatever she can to get her beloved brother back.
She meets some interesting people, uncovers nefarious plots from the past that affected her family and learns things about herself that she would never have imagined were true.
The story is multilayered and unexpectedly realistic, with complicated characters facing hard decisions that lead to a bittersweet ending. (view spoiler) Our heroes are far from their "happy ever after" future at this point, but, as in real life, no matter how bad things may seem there is always hope.
Looking forward to the next book of the series, A Darkness Strange and Lovely.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Okay, team, quick update! We're 1 book away from our Free Space and Strong Heroine stamps,
2 books away from our Book Boyfriends stamp
and 4 books away from our Cover Love one.
On a side note, D.G.'s the only one who's read all of her books - WTG D.G.! (The wait for the next self must suck though...)
Come on Furies, get reading (and rating and reviewing)!
I'm just posting the Street Team missions to a few teams & I'll get my reviews written up after that. I only have Book Boyfriends still to read.

My Review: This is the 5th book in Jennifer's Shifter's Unbound series and it's definitely one for the keeper shelf! Tiger is different from the other shifters and not just because of his origins. The normal rules and magic that explain the existence of Shifters don't apply to him, this novel isn't just about him finding his other half it's also a journey of self discovery. Carly was an interesting addition to the series, I liked how strong she was yet still feminine. Her growing relationship with Tiger and her ability to see past what everyone else can, had me firmly in her corner. I enjoyed seeing her initial interactions and impressions of the Shiftertown regulars, I always forget just how intimidating they can be initially. Olaf was his regular cute little self :)
Although not my favourite book, I did enjoy the plot development and the added elements to the overall story arc.
Thenia wrote: "On a side note, D.G.'s the only one who's read all of her books - WTG D.G.! (The wait for the next self must suck though...)"Thanks, Thenia. ;) The wait is not too bad, the worst part is having books I want to read but I'm 'saving' for the shelves, LOL!

My Review: This is the 4th Sinners book chronologically although it is the 5th book published. I highly recommend reading them in chronological order or you will be confused and some of the major storylines will be spoiled.
Eric Sticks plays drums for the rock band Sinners, he's often overshadowed by the other band members and often overlooked by the 'groupies'. As a result he has taken a more voyeuristic approach to his romantic endeavours, often joining his bandmates in the bedroom. When Rebekah enters his life and shows an immediate appreciation for Trey he starts to get a little jealous an that's when the fun begins! Rebekah has been hurt in the not so distant past and although she is lusting after Trey she can't help but become attracted to Eric, with his quirky sense of humour and uncanny ability to make her laugh.
I enjoyed Eric and Rebekah together, I wondered how Olivia was going to get Eric from being a voyeur to being an active participant and I wasn't disappointed. Their antics often had me giggling out loud.
My only issue with this one was that I found it predictable at times, whether it was because I read them in published order and therefore I knew what was coming - I can't say. I will say that I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and if you've ever wanted a sexy Rockstar or five in your life then give them a try! I am still waiting patiently on the first Exodus End book. Olivia has definitely catapulted onto my auto-buy author list & I am currently listening to this series on Audio :)

So far it's the gloomiest book in the series. Promise of war and changes that will shape new Never Never. That's what Meghan hast to stand up against in this book.
