And I entirely agree that Kate & the Beast Lord can certainly ruin anybody. LOL.

I have to say though that the audio voice for Bones is simply horrible so I'm not surprised you didn't find him sexy!"
You are so right D.G. That heavy Cockney accent is just killing off any sexiness Bones might have. Where's Phil Gigante when you need him?!
I read the two Night Huntress books first and there was no problem understanding the world. I think Spade and Denise are my favorite couple in the series.

I just love this series! For me this book was the darkest and saddest in the series so far. In this book Harry gets really close to the Black Council also he has to deal with skinwalker and prove that Morgan is not guilty of murder.

The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting - ★★★★ (6/6/2013)
Shelf: Free Space
Violet has had the ability to sense the dead all her life. She has learned to manage it and lead a pretty normal life with normal problems, one of them being her attraction to her childhood best friend, Jay.
When girls around her age start disappearing and then turn up dead, Violet is determined to use her gift to help find the serial killer before he strikes again.
Combining romance with mystery, this is a very interesting, fast paced book. I have become weary of young adult books, having almost no patience for the teenage girl mentality. Fortunately, Violet managed to avoid being stupid most of the time, showing symptoms of the condition only a couple of times by being careless and while dealing with her crush on Jay.
The romance was sweet and realistic, and I really liked Jay and envied Violet for having him. We witness things mostly through Violet's eyes and know what she knows, which means a lot of details are not provided, leaving out gruesome details and keeping the mystery vague, even when it's solved.
Well written, with solid characters and an original and realistic enough plot considering the nature of Violet's gift, I really enjoyed reading this book. I'm curious to see if the sequel, Desires of the Dead, is as engaging.

A Spy in the House by Y.S. Lee - ★★★★ (6/7/2013)
Shelf: Assassins
I really enjoyed reading Mary's story!
We first meet Mary as an orphan thief that's been sentenced to death by hanging. Having been noticed by a few influential and forward thinking women who are in charge of a boarding school for unfortunate girls, Mary has a chance for a better future.
Years later, her restlessness compels her to seek a different role that would suit her more than teaching at the boarding school and her benefactresses have the perfect position in mind.
The mystery Mary's supposed to solve in her first mission as a spy is interesting and early on she meets James Easton, who will become her partner in crime, with an agenda of his own. Their exchanges are very amusing and I hope we'll see more of them in future books.
I liked Mary as a character, with her tenacity and strong will, and I'm looking forward to seeing her evolve and grow accustomed to her new role. Next comes The Body at the Tower, where Mary disguises as a man to investigate a suspicious death.

Title/Author: Heart of Obsidian by Nalini Singh
Read for shelf: Free Space
Date finished: 6/6/13
Rating: ★★★★★
Review: Heart of Obsidian was simply amazing. The romantic component was emotionally powerful and the overall conflict that has been brewing in the series came to a head. Even though I should have known it was coming, I was still in shock at the end. It moved me so much that I woke up in the middle of the night thinking of the Psy and found my face full of tears.
Just in case you don't want to know who's the couple in this book (the author kept it very vague in the blurb), I'm not saying more. ;) But if you want to read my full review, please check out the blog: http://badassbookreviews.com/new-rele...
I haven't had time to post it in GR yet.

I'm still unable to read anything so I'm looking forward to this afternoon's shelf. :)

The second book in this series was much more interesting and catchy then the first one. I was hooked from the first page. The story went on much faster for me and it ended a little ironically. In the beginning Kaylar has all most everything he wants, but still there is something a miss. The story goes on and Kaylar goes back for is old ways.

Michelle, would you like me to change your Free Space book to Heart of Obsidian?
I've updated our lists and we're doing well so far - we're 2 books away from both stamps for the current shelves and everyone's given an update of their progress but Amy. How are you doing, Amy? Having trouble finishing your books? Let me know if you want to change your picks anytime. ;)
Apart from that, looking forward to the new shelf!

It's entirely your choice! Read, rate and review whichever you decide and I'll update the lists... ;)

I also noticed that some books in that shelf are less than 200 pgs. so double check the number of pages before you start reading!

I'm so moody lately! Don't worry ladies. Once I get my groove back, I'll catch up quickly. :)

I'm reading book two in that series from the assassins shelf. I remember it took me forever to read Grave Mercy and I ended up giving it 3 stars because it was an okay read overall in my opinion.

I think I'll just give up on it. If I have problems with a premise from the beginning, I just won't force myself to read it.
I'm reading

This was an okay read overall. I did find some parts boring and some parts that kept me interested to keep reading. I'm glad the bad guy got his just desserts in the end!

My Review:
I loved the majority of this book, so much happened and long awaited secrets were finally unravelled along with a couple of surprises. I had no idea of the pairing going in and was pleasantly surprised, also by the combination.
The two characters worked really well together, they have a past that added more than depth to their characters - I was quickly invested in them and their journey was a highly emotional one. Things have really changed now an the conclusion has opened up a lot of avenues to be explored. I can't wait to see where Nalini takes us next. The only thing I ask is - (view spoiler) ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Now I'm working on the Assassins book. :)

2 starts 06.12
Well honestly this book does nothing for me. I don't have any emotions with the story or characters. they don't even annoy me, so it's quite hard for me to write any review for it. So here we go :) Clary is getting more and more sucked into the Shadowhunters world. There is some killing and drama and in the end there is big showdown with her father (who is a bad guy). That's pretty much it ;)

I started the first book and couldn't take it. I didn't dnf it because I thought I was in a mood but I'm just thinking now I should just give up on the whole thing.

Title/Author: Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry
Read for shelf: Book Boyfriends
Date finished: 6/11/13
Rating: ★★★★
Review: Very good read about two damaged people who that find each other and deal with some really difficult stuff in their lives. When it started, I couldn't help but make some comparisons with Perfect Chemistry but the similarities faded away soon.
My favorite quote:
"Growing up means making tough choices, and doing the right thing doesn't necessarily mean doing the thing that feels good."
Not very poetic but very true!
I liked that even though they are happy at the end, they both had to make changes and very difficult decisions in their lives.
Definitely reading the next book!

Luckily, I'm off on Friday!

I started the first book and couldn't take it. I didn't dnf it because I thought I was in a mood but I'm just thinking now I should just give up on the wh..."
I might continue like in a year or so, just because i have the books.

SHELF: Assassins

Title/Author: Lover Avenged by J.R. Ward
Read for shelf: Assassins
Date finished: 6/13/13
Rating: ★★★★
Review: Definitely an improvement from the last book. I love some of the tropes that happened here (view spoiler) so I enjoyed it a lot. There are still too many POVs but I know from other reviews that Ward still does it in further books. I'll definitely read the next one although I'm not too happy about the recycled plot (view spoiler) but I enjoyed this one enough that I'll give #8 a try, specially when I'm in a mood for sexy PNR.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

2 of the 5 books are done for the Book Boyfriends shelf so far and all of our lists are updated. I'm still in the middle of finals so I'm a bit behind but I'll catch up soon.
