Sorry, I haven't see this before.
Um, I'm not sure. Obsidian isn't really a color. They usually say dark as obsidian or black as obsidian, but I don't think I've ever encountered something obsidian colored.
Anyway, since it's you who's reading a book and trying to finish this challenge, I'll let you decide if you want to use it or not. ☺

It's an open ended challenge so you can take as long as you need.

Welcome to the challenge :)

TerryJane Megan wrote: I guess I could always do more than one challenge at a time and alternate every other book I read for every other challenge."

I take a different approach, Megan. I'll use the same book toward multiple challenges. For example, last month I read Landline by Rainbow Rowell. I applied it to several challenges:
New to U Author Challenge
50 States Challenge (California)
It's All In the Title (One Word Titles)
Goodreads Choice Awards 2014 (Fiction)

It's a bit like a game sometimes, finding titles to meet multiple challenges. I especially love it when one of the 1001 Books applies to other challenges. Just have fun with it, no matter what your approach. Right? :)

TerryJane

As TerryJane said, you can use your read book in multiple challenges so there is really no limit on how many challenges you do at the same time. (except time spent on updating all of them instead of reading. Yes, speaking from experience :P)

Beside, fitting one book in as many as possible challenges is challenge itself, right? :)
