Post #157 modified to include tangerine (orange).

IN ADDITION:

Since Atomic Tangerine is such a difficulty color to find, even in the title of a book, we will allow Orange Prize books to be counted for this color.

Orange Prize for Fiction Winners
The Orange Prize for Fiction is one of the United Kingdom's most prestigious literary prizes, awarded annually for the best original full-length novel by a female author of any nationality, written in English and published in the UK in the preceding year.

Two listopias are:
Orange Prize for Fiction Winners
Orange Prize for Fiction Longlist

NOTICE: For "Behind Enemy Lines

Since Lindy (Cadet Blue) is legally blind, she posts her books from a different media device; therefore, her books are NOT viewable.

You can go to her bookshelf; make sure any books you choose are 'tagged' "read." The name of it is tower-team-cadet-blue

Her count is off.

If you are in doubt, check with Teresa, the Captain of Cadet Blue.

~ “Buddy Reads” and the 7% Solution Challenge ~

With regards to the 7% Solution Challenge taking place within the Tower Teams Reading Challenge, the Mods have decided that you do NOT need to create a day’s worth of DQs to satisfy Category #4 - Books of the Month or any impromptu “buddy reads.”

As far as the current BOMs, the Mods would appreciate any help (and there might be a cupcake or two in it for your Team, if you do a set).

Note: We added start dates to the threads’ titles.

Requirement for 7% Completion
Nevertheless, we stipulate that members participating in that challenge need to give more than a two sentence statement. Something more than, “I loved it. But hated the cliffhanger at the end...” repeatedly, member after member.

One example we liked was a comment or two at the end of every chapter or two where people put these under “view spoiler” (view spoiler). This is fine with us, though that makes it difficult to access for members reading on their phones.

Therefore, there needs to be some kind of designated stopping points for discussion - by chapters with view spoilers, as mentioned, or defined sections - agreed upon or defined by someone willing to make the suggestion.

If you like, you may reserve a post that refers the Mods to your comments.

Example (For this example, they all go to the same post; hopefully, you get the idea.)
Steven - link to my comments 6/10 on The Hobbit
Steven - link to my comments 6/12 on The Hobbit
Steven - link to my comments 6/14 on The Hobbit

Rhonda | 550 comments I need a little favor and wasn't sure where to ask. I've switched my profile from private so mods and helpers would be able to see my shelf. Would someone I haven't had the pleasure of befriending look at my profile for me and tell me whether or not I was successful in making it public?

ShoSho (shoshost) | 446 comments Hey Rhonda , it's still private :)

Rhonda | 550 comments I think if we post on the 1st it won't show the date correctly. I'm wondering if books that are finished on the 1st should not be posted until the 2nd...please advise

Yes, you are talking about the GoodReads coding that, when you post a book on the first day of the month, it shows it just as a generic "June, 2013." For our purposes, we'll be able to tell, Rhonda; however, others might not what to do that if they don't like that GRs does it that way.

I'm happy to hear that. I had wanted to finish a couple of books I've had in progress and it's good to know I can actually post them on the day they're finished without any confusion. Posting on a day that's not actually the finish day was causing me some anxiety - I must have a little OCD.

Start Time: Universal Countdown - Showing Your Time Zone. At Midnight, N.Y, U.S.A., Saturday, June 1st, 2013.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments Eeeeek!!! Wait... that's 15 minutes from now. And I'm about to go to bed! Not that it matters because I'm already in a book but still! What if there are cupcake games? Or fun talks somewhere? Or something??!?! And I miss out on it all because I am sleeping??? It's bad enough to miss out on reading because i'm sleeping!

LOL! I know, I know, there's like...7 more weeks of this but STILL! First day is always kinda sweet, has that new car smell and all, hahahaha.

I am TIRED! Can you tell? Maybe not... you'd have to know me really well to see how spazzy I can get when I'm super sleepy, hehe.

LOL! Soooooo fun you should mention "car."

Neat that you're excited, Teresa. ☺

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments Wait..why is that funny??? I feel like this is something I need to stay awake for!!

Oh you tease me so! *debates how long she should sit here before finally succumbing to the tempting bed*

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments Well, I look forward to finding out what it is, whenever I find out!

Think I'm going to get into bed very soon. I'm just not sure I can last the 4 minutes until the thingy starts, LOL. Four little minutes..maybe if I refresh my notifications a few more times...

I'm not even sure why I'm *so* excited to be here at the o'clock mark. I mean... I'm not DOING anything special at that time, LOL. Just going to get into bed and read some more of the book I started earlier.

Vi, where do you live? If it is not midnight of the 31st, then I'd wait, or GRs will read it differently.

message 197: by Logan (new)

Logan (loganturner) | 1643 comments Now that the DQ requirement no longer exists, can we answer older BOM DQs and have that count? Or do we still need to set it up as a new buddy read in the author last name threads?

For example: I want to read Firelight. Can I read it and post a series of responses on the existing BOM thread?
