Welcome, Jorge. You might be interested in our Medieval History folder:

As you get started please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you comment. It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link after all of the text of your post at the bottom of the post. Placement at the bottom of the post calls the reader's attention to the book and/or author and increases the readability of your post. This is how books you mention should look:

So glad you joined us, Jorge. There is much to see here so please join in the discussions/book recommendations in the areas of your interest. Enjoy!!!!
Thanks a lot folks. Great topics, I will probably follow several. I notice that there is no topic on medieval "science", or knowledge, or even technology. This is a fascinating subject, do you think people would be interested in it?
Thank you, Jorge. I think that is something that will be seriously entertained by our lead moderator and group founder, Bentley. Please put up your suggestion for his consideration on our Suggestions topic in the Medieval History thread. The link is:https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Welcome, Lisa, to the place for the history lover. Vicki gave you the links necessary to become an active participant. We look forward to your comments.......and enjoy!!
I just recently started on Goodreads, and enjoy listening to audiobooks. I like to listen to them when I ride my cycle bike for ling rides. I also listen to them at home and in the car as well. When I ride I can usually get thorough a fairly short book on one ride.I currently live in Reno, NV an work as a radiology instructor at the local community college.
I have listened to a lot of novels on audio, but I have always enjoyed listening to books of the historical type. I recently changed my listening habits to more of the history type. I am finding out there is a lot of them. I liked because, I can learn about events in history that mean something or have meant something instead of fiction that leads not where.
I do have some on my list that I like in the fiction, but for the most part, most of my to read list is historical related.
There is so much to listen to, and so little time, that is the reason for the switch.
Looking to follow others and see what others are reading as well.

Hi everyone. My name is Jerry and I live in Toronto. I have long had a fascination with historical subjects. These include all these Roman, Egyptian, and other ancient civilizations. I am also keen on pretty well anything involving World War II and the Holocaust, and a pet peeve of mind is how little the current generation seems to know about basic history, which I believe is a problem that originates in our schools. I look forward to the dialogue

Hello, Everyone! I'm Skeetor and I live in the U.S.A.(originally from Cleveland, Ohio but currently living in New Orleans, Louisiana). I love to read just about everything, but history is one of my favorites so I was glad to find this group.
* Happy New Year! *
Hello all, I cannot remember if I did this or not, so here goes.
My name is Stormie and I am a History geek/buff...whichever you prefer. ;) I am fascinated by all types of history and have mostly studied The American Civil War. I am sorry I did not get to this earlier, but was in the midst of moving and am still not totally settled. But anyway, enough to get back to my reading groups/clubs. I am glanced over the guidelines and will go back over them again. I am hoping to participate more this year, and especially for the Japan challenge. I have requested the Rag Quartet from the library and hope to get caught up on that as well.
As of now, I am unemployed, disabled, looking for work, scrapbooking, and other hobbies. Anyway, looking forward to a lot of reading for the new year!

Hi All,Although a fairly omnivorous reader, I often enjoy histories. Histories of technological innovation interest me most. So here I am. Have already enjoyed reading several book reviews, written my members of this group. Accordingly, my 'To-Read' bookshelf is now groaning. Such a problem to have :)
Am already enjoying the friendly and thoughtful vibe of this group. Once I get the 'lay of the land,' look forward to participating productively, not just receptively.

Hi, I've been looking for a place to discuss non-fiction books on goodreads for the past two years. I read more non-fiction than fiction and most of that non-fiction is historical in nature. So far I haven't had much luck finding good non-fiction discussions on goodreaeds and I was thrilled to stumble upon this group.
We are thrilled that you found us, Rosella. It is a great group and if you browse our home page at the following link, I'm sure you will find much to catch your attention.https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you are ready to cite a book. (There is a link on the top right of the reply box.) It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link at the very bottom of the post after your text. Because it is on the bottom, it calls the reader's attention to the book/author and increases the readability of your posts.

Hi! My name is Sharon Scott. I love reading anything on history. I am married to an artist. I am trying to go back to school for my MA in English/creative writing with a concentration in non-fiction writing. I am applying to SNHU. Hopefully will get in by February. I love reading. It is a passion of mine. I like non-fiction mostly. History, biography, true crime. Looking forward to participating in this group.

Hi!My name is Kirsten and I'm from Australia.
I started reading historical fiction novels when I was 14, my first historical novel being When Christ and His Saints Slept by Sharon Penman and I've been reading them ever since!
My favourite historical fiction series is the Masters of Rome Series by Colleen McCullough.
