Maryline M's Bookshelf (msbookshelf_reviews) Hello everyone, my name is Maryline ("Marilyn" in English). I'm 21 years old and I'm from Belgium, where I study History at the University of Ghent, which probably already explains a lot about me wanting to join this group. I've been a huge bookworm since.. well, since I could read. I love love love historical fiction, but I really enjoy other genres too. Next to that I'm a vegetarian, tea-addict and cat lover... Nice to meet you!

Alisa (mstaz) Hello Maryline, and welcome, we are glad to have you as a member. Here is a convenient list of focus areas for your browsing pleasure: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...

As you get started please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you comment. It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link after all of the text of your post at the bottom of the post. Placement at the bottom of the post calls the reader's attention to the book and/or author and increases the readability of your post. This is how books you mention should look:

Alexis (kheleyr) Hi. My name is Alexis. I am a recent law school graduate, and I am currently working as a research attorney for the Los Angeles Superior Court. I am an avid reader, and I enjoy learning about a variety of subjects. In college, I took overview courses on African-American History, World History, and Western Civilization, among others. In law school, I developed an interest in legal history. Lately, I have been particularly interested in learning about Henry II's development of the jury system. I look forward to the discussions. It looks like a great group!

Wes Whalberg | 1 comments Hello,
My name is Wes. I am a project manager who always wanted to read more but rarely found time until I discovered audiobooks a couple years ago, and now I try to read about a book every 2 weeks. Three subjects that fascinate me are history, psychology, and science. From what I gather I hope to gain insight to what history books are quality and what members have to say about them. In time I hope to give back the same. Thank you welcoming me.

Hi, I'm John, an active community pharmacist and history buff. I have my home in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St Paul in the USA. I have been a member of WW2 and Civil War Roundtables. I have visited many Civil War battlefields, in fact I have visited Gettysburg many times.

I focus my reading on WW2 and the American Civil War. I enjoy personal accounts of veterans war experiences, but recently, I have focused on discovering the strategy of major decision makers.

I am also an active fiction reader, my average in 2 fiction books to one non-fiction volume.

My latest reading has focused on Fleet Admiral William D. Leahy and I was able to obtain 2 out of print books, one actually written by the author. I have just finished I Was There and Witness to Power arrived a few days ago. Interesting reading and insight abound filling in a multitude of details.

I Was There The Personal Story of the Chief of Staff to Presidents Roosevelt and Truman Based on His Notes and Diaries Made at the Time by Fleet Admirial William D. LeahyWitness to Power The Life of Fleet Admiral William D. Leahy by Henry H. Adams

Meryl (crossconnect) | 8 comments Hi! I am Meryl from India, Asia. I come from a country of vast cultural heritage and history, History fascinated me in high school. My teacher was simply amazing and her style of teaching invited me to feast on the intrigue and beauty of history.

Historical fiction has always been my favourite genre. I aim to read more and gain greater understanding on World History. Apart from that, I enjoy reading Indian and medieval history. Currently reading David McCullough's '1776' which is an account of the American fight for Independence under Gen George Washington.

I am more than excited to join this group and glad that you are doing a project on India. I hope to gain a lot of knowledge and exposure.

Besides that I guess I need a lot of help in finding good books:) I look forward to more interaction, discussions and reading. Cheers :)

We actually have a historical fiction read coming up September 16th that is set in India. You might be interested in joining us. Check it out here: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_...

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you comment. (There is a link on the top right of the comment box.) It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them.

When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link at the very bottom of the post after your text. Because it is on the bottom, it calls the reader's attention to the book/author and increases the readability of your posts.

This is how the book you mentioned should look:

1776 by David McCullough by David McCullough David McCullough

Katy (kathy_h) Welcome, Taylor from Ohio. Glad you could join us.

I love my local librarian, she is such a part of our small community. And how fun to be in college too - I always love learning new things.
