Welcome to our newest members. We have some great book discussions going on right now and we're looking forward to our read-a-thon tomorrow. I hope you will join us!
Hello everyoneI'm history student from Bosnia and Herzegovina. My interests are: history (obviously), construction of identities, deconstruction, postcolonialism, postmodernism, postcolonial literature, post-structuralism, ancient Illyricum, early medieval Illyricum, nations, anthropology etc.
Welcome to The History Book Club, De. It's great to have you here. I've spent some time in the Baltimore area myself - it's a really lovely part of the country. Cultural history is one of my favorites as well, so we'll have plenty to discuss. Based on your interests, you may want to start getting comfortable here by taking a look at:
Historical Fiction
British History
Ancient History
There are many other folders where you can discuss topics that interest you as well.
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you comment. (There is a link on the top right of the comment box). It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them.
When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link at the very bottom of the post after your text. Because it is on the bottom, it calls the reader's attention to the book/author and increases the readability of your posts.

Hi Rose! I'm so glad to see a young person here. I hope you'll bring your friends along with you!
Hello all. I recently retired from a long career in communications. I was a reporter for awhile then got into financial reporting. I love history, especially from the 1800's and 20th century. I read a lot of historical fiction, if I can determine it accurately reflects a certain period in time. Look forward to hearing from others on good books.
Hello. My name is Kelley Eidem. I'm 64 and am semi retired. Long ago I worked in a library and saw more books that I wanted to read than would be humanly possible. I prefer nonfiction for the most part, especially history and biographies.Lately I've become addicted to the internet, so maybe this group will help me disconnect a little.
Hello everyone! I am Suparna & I love reading...be it newspapers, blogs, fiction, history, biography...the list seems quite long :-) I did my graduation in History. European (middle ages & architecture) & Modern Indian History (19th Century onwards) have been my favorite. White Mughals, The Last Mughal & The Argumentative Indian are some of my favorite books.
Looking forward to our interactions!
Hello History lovers. My name is Ray Johns .I come invited to this History Book Club by the kind recommendation of Kressel Housman to join it. I work as a merchant seaman so the long voyages at sea give me ample time for reading . My interest in History has mostly centered on between the World Wars and diplomatic history . Two of my favorite historians have been

Hi, I'm Will from Victoria in Canada. Though I don't currently have a lot of time to read, I'm interested in the local history (Victoria and BC), recent world history (especially European), historical exploration, social history, ... better stop there!
my favorite book is probably "The Rise OF The Indian Rope Trick" because; 1) it shows how gullible we all are 2)mass media ,Twitter ,Facebook feed the insanity 3)people are no smarter or dumber today than in the past.
Hello - My name is Kare and I work in the legal field in Florida, USA. I was born in Cuba, part of a family who experienced the Spanish - Cuban wars, the Spanish Civil War, and the October Missile Crisis. I grew up among piles of books that fluctuated from Smith to Marx, from Plato to Lenin, and I have come to the conclusion that you never really stop learning from history. Probably the only thing that allows you to appreciate our human character to the fullest. I am excited to be part of your group and thank you for accepting me!
hi I´m Lorena from Spain ,I like very much history sice I was a child ,about all I like Ancient Egypt ,The Second War World ,the History of Science .etcthank you by leave me enjoy this fantastic group of History

Hi to all History fans. This is by reading S.Zweig's Magellan that I decided to stop reading novels and concentrate on history, one of my early passions.
I am half French and half Spanish and read all three languages perfectly: with the realisation that actually few people DO read in multiple languages, I found myself an almost painful duty there. Not to let go, not to ever stop reading, even if it meant drowning into the beauty of someone else's prose.
Also going for German now.
Have a good day.
4 June/2015: And of course I CAN'T stop reading novels altogether :-) !!

Hello Mark. We have a topic on IndiaIndia
There are also many other folders where you can discuss topics that interest you.
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you comment. (There is a link on the top right of the comment box.) It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them.
When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link at the very bottom of the post after your text. Because it is on the bottom, it calls the reader's attention to the book/author and increases the readability of your posts.
This is how books should look:
