I was born in Cuba, part of a family who experienced the Spanish - Cuban wars, the Spanish Civil War, and the October Missile Crisis. I grew up among piles of books that fluctuated from Smith to Marx, from Plato to Lenin, and I have come to the conclusion that you never really stop learning from history. Probably the only thing that allows you to appreciate our human character to the fullest.

Eisenhower sided with Nasser against European imperialism.

Hi to all History fans.
This is by reading S.Zweig's Magellan that I decided to stop reading novels and concentrate on history, one of my early passions.

I am half French and half Spanish and read all three languages perfectly: with the realisation that actually few people DO read in multiple languages, I found myself an almost painful duty there. Not to let go, not to ever stop reading, even if it meant drowning into the beauty of someone else's prose.

Also going for German now.
