I think Celeste was one of the most tactical girls in the selection. She was there at perfect moments and was horrible to everyone EXCEPT when she could get in trouble. Plus she is there to win over the prince not be nice. I don't blame her at all. I do think it wasn't right for Maxon to kiss her like that, but I think Aspen's wrongs outweigh Maxon's. For one Maxon didn't break up with America for his ego. Aspen is so cagey. There relationship isn't going anywhere either. Plus even if America chose Aspen then nothing would happen. The series would finish with a boring ending. If she chose Maxon, she would have the potential to do such great things. The series would end with a bang.

Team Maxon all the way... Except when I was reading the part where he goes kissing other girls. The nerve! I hope Aspen would make a move, so Maxon would be jealous. Surprised that he still didn't find out about Aspen. In the first book, the ending, I was angry because if only America would just accept Maxon. The whole competition will just end. They would marry and live happily ever after, but that would mean the book will end there. I really wouldn't want this book to be the one with the ending that I hate since I adore the first book and am reading the second one now.

It is full of plot twists that I found infuriatingly addictive. Might I point out that it is expected of Maxon to be as close as he is to America.

okay time for me to rant. i am all or team maxon. they are perfect for each other. aspen on the other hand is soooo selfish!!! he SAW what happened to Marlee and the other guard yet he continues to risk his and americas life to sneek around!! that does not sound like someone who truly loves her. at any moment they could be caught and her life would be ruined. and thats what really makes me angry about him, he has no regard for her saftey or reputation.

I couldn't agree more! I feel like america loves maxon in a more genuine way than aspen. I think the only reason she is still keeping aspen as an option us she doesn't know if she wants the crown or can be a good princess, but it is keeping aspen that is keeping her from loving maxon whole heartedly. Team Maxon all the way! I liked his character the moment he saw America. I was all smiles while I read the scene where America was so frantic to go outside. About the trust thing, I can understand because they were both unsure of each other since no one said "i love you" til the very end. The Celeste make-out session and Kriss fling (or whatever it is) were understandable since Maxon didn't know where he stands in America's heart but still had to find a wife. Kriss was his safety net just as Aspen was America's. I think that makes them even.

Overall, I don't hate aspen but I feel like if he actually loved America like he said, he would respect whatever choice she made which he doesn't seem like he would do, so far. In the elite, when america said she needed time he simply would not give her space. I feel like maxon knows better for america and loves he way more than aspen ever would. There were moments when I wanted to slap America even though I love her. For example, in the Elite when Maxon kissed celeste I wish she could have gotten over it because America would go behind Maxon's back to be with aspen almost every other day. And when Maxon kisses celeste once america gets so mad at him it's stupid. Anyways I love the selection series, but the only character I actually liked throughout the wholes series was Maxon. Aspen would put America down and discourage her just to be with her. And america, would just get mad over the silliest things. But I loved this series and I'm going to start reading the novellas

From the start I wanted America to be with Maxon, I don't know why. However on the last book I really took a time to think, Aspen's love for America was beautiful, the sky is blue, the sun is hot, Aspen endlessly loves America. But when Aspen finally moves on, when America lets Aspen go, that's where the beauty of the book is, the grown of the characters, that´s what happens in real life and it's amazing. In a nutshell, I don´t think that this conversation can be simplified by Team Aspen vs Team Maxon. It is so much more
