Team Maxon or Aspen

I wish you all the luck in the world to attain your wish to be a writer I too wish to be one. If I offended you I meant no insult. I truly am sorry if I offended you.

What??? That was so not an insult. I was actually flattered in every possible way. *no sarcasm*

Oh Ok. I was just worried. I hope I get the chance to review one of your books!

Thank you! :)
Thank you! :)

No problem.

Just because he's allowed to do that doesn't mean he should. Besides, if he really loved America, or if he was a SANE person, he wouldn't have kissed anyone else, ESPECIALLY CELESTE.
Maxon's doing the same thing they whipped Marlee for. Actually, he was cheating so that is a lot worse. At least Marlee was loyal to Woodwork.
And now that you think about it, America is the one being kissed, not the one doing the action. She never asked Maxon to kiss her and she couldn't say no because... well, duh... he's a prince. She allowed Aspen to do it because Aspen was the one that broke up with her and he can take it back since he was the one that took it away.
Sorry to all fans of Maxon, but its kinda wrong if you ask me. :)

What do you think would've hurt America more?
The whip hitting her hands repeatedly if she and Aspen were ever caught (if she chooses him), leaving millions of scars that WILL heal, or the broken heart that she would get if she did fall in love with Maxon, but Maxon, being a heartless idiot, chose Kriss or Celeste instead?
At least the wounds on her hands will heal and America and Aspen will still be together. Though Aspen's family will lose their supporter, yeah that's the only real problem but we're talking about America's feelings so we'll deal with that later.
But do you think America could handle a broken heart? She could barely handle her break up with Aspen. Maxon could've played with her and suddenly makes her hit the ground of reality... hard.

it does; so far more than chapter 2

I know right. In one of The ONe teasers it says:
#1: "I apologize for being out of uniform, sir."
#2: "Come out, Mer, it's Max."
#9: "Are you scared?" he asked. "No." "Me neither." But I was pretty sure we were both lying.
I think this is leading to Maxon knowing about Aspen or they get busted together
But #9 could mean before America and Maxon's wedding (hopefully)

I'm not so sure

I think #9 is, not trying to be negative (just realistic), when America and Aspen are going to be whipped because they were caught? It could happen. The king, who hates America, will not tolerate her having a 2nd relationship with a guard especially since she wasn't supposed to even stay.

Nice anger maybe not but betrayal yeah thats going to sting!

It shouldn't be legal. We all want Maxon and America to end up together, and Kiera Cass just freak everyone out by putting Aspen to f**k everything. That's NOT. COOL.
**Sorry for the spelling mistakes, I don't speak English very well:')

It is annoying. Love triangles really work. except when a character is likable. I felt that we didn't see the "Great Love" Aspen has for America HOWEVER we time and again see Maxon prove it. BUT he is cast as the villain in the Elite.

Yeah, I totally agree. Aspen was just put there to create love triangle drama. Ugh!
P.S. Your English is really good :)
Night wrote: "Mathilde wrote: "Seriously, did someone in this world is Team Aspen? I mean, this is supposed to be a "love triangle", but one of the two guys is freaking hot and cool and smart, and the other one ..."
Wait, who was the villain? Aspen or Maxon?

Maxon was TECHNICALLY the villain in the Elite because he was kind of a big jerk EVEN IF he got whipped for America.
And I'm partly Team Maxon now, courtesy of my very annoying and "persuasive" friend (who is Team Maxon of course) but she didn't revvert me completely because I still love Aspen. HAH! to her

I'm on Maxon side but making out with Celeste was a jack ass move. But how can Aspen say "He's a fake" does he know Maxon? NO. Hey judges him much like America did. "That suit" I mean could he really be threatened by him? If America really loved Aspen as she claims would she start to fall for Maxon. If someones your "Great love" you don't just fall for another guy.

I just have to point it out. Sorry but,
Love is different from PHYSICAL ATTRACTION

both guys are the same!

Then America should choose no one. No really, if both guys are just lustful jerks then America should choose herself and move on with her life. Find a new boyfriend after a few years or so.
:)

Could work. IF written correctly.

A really big "IF" there my friend.

(I didn't consider Maxon as the "villain" in the second book, for me, he gave chances to America, she didn't take them, so it was his right to kiss the girl he wanted! I mean, his goal is to find a princess for the crown. He can't just stay there and wait for America!)

I know. I agree with you. Maxon has to choose a bride. I feel as though America is letting herself and Him down. I read the selection stories and I was amazed that the selection was YET AGAIN DRAGGED OUT FOR THE FIRST THREE CHAPTERS. I feel for Maxon in the Elite. America is allowed to blatantly throw the rules out the window. By hooking up with Aspen and we're supposed to turn the other way. Then she accuses him of cheating ON HER.

Well you can't really expect the Selection to end abruptly in the first three chapters. I think the Selection will be done midway through the book.

I feel it should have ended in Book 2

I don't want America to just fall head over heels in love with some new guy just like that. The love has to be earned.
And if it DID end in book 2, America would've been kicked out. Remember the final events of the Elite?

Yes, I remember but then she could stay because of the Talk.

I think seeing that he'd bare any amount of scars for her forced her to realise Maxon is worth fighting for. I personally believe that this should have been a saga not a trilogy

That may be but Celeste definitely doesn't deserve him.

Is it just me, or does this review heavily emphasize that Maxon and America are going to get together?

I think so.

So... does Kriss deserve Maxon? I mean, she's nice... well, not in the first chapters of the One but that's just out of jealousy.
What if no one deserves Maxon? Or is it vice versa?

I don't like obvious endings... I like a lot of plot twists and unexpected turns and surprises. I hope Cass doesn't deprive us of that.

I guess your right but seriously, I dont know what it is but I dont like Aspen, I mean seriously dude get lost. Maxon and America have to be together, because who else could Maxon end up with? Kriss....I don't think so.

KIera seems to be too pro Aspen.

That's just the advantage of being neutral. :)

Yet I believe Aspen is no good for America. He told her she probably wouldn't have the skills to be a good princess. He spends time with her even when he knows he's risking their lives. He seems selfish to me.
However, Maxon tells America she CAN be a princess. He believes in her and she is her best around him. He wants to be with her even though he knows his father does not approve - and you've seen what his father has done - nor will the public. Of course he has explored other options because America did not give him the assurance he needed to have no doubt she would say yes to a proposal. To be fair, it did break my heart with the Celeste thing but Maxon redeemed himself at the end and I am fully supporting him.
Needless to say, I'm Team Maxon.
I'm just dreading The One because I'm scared that;
1. Maxon will find out about Aspen and America (that he's her ex)
2. Maxon won't choose America (it's obvious America wants Maxon now).
and/or 3. The rebels/America will tear down the monarchy so Maxon won't be a prince anymore and he'll hate America forever ;;;AAA;;;
I just want endless supplies of my Maxon <333

You probably haven't read the Guard yet. This whole "Aspen told America that she can't be a princess and he's bringing her down, etc. etc." is just a complete misunderstanding.
In truth, Aspen thinks that America is much too good to rule over a messed-up country such as Illea. (You have to admit that the country is pretty suckish when it comes to laws and equality and principles) He's afraid the system and monarchy might ruin her and she deserves better. Aspen always makes sure that America realizes that, even though she probably won't unless she becomes more confident in herself.
Actually, America's dad completely agrees with that idea.
Oh yeah, and I'm 100% sure that Maxon will find out about Aspen and America. So like what, Maxerica wedding at the end but he doesn't know that America was "technically" cheating on him? The story won't progress smoothly if Maxon doesn't find out.

Why thank you, night, for laughing. I really
appreciate that because i fancy myself as a writer one day. most of my teachers think i add pretty good voice in my writing. you probably have no idea what that means to me to have someone enjoy even my tiniest comment. (TEAM MAXON!!)
