TEAM MAXON!! after reading the prince, you can really see that Maxon had feelings for America from the beginning (when he met her). And I think Lucy and Aspen are going to end up together. Because when America catches Lucy crying, and Lucy tells her that all she wants is a husband and someone to love her. and from the beginning the author shows that Lucy thinks Aspen is handsome.

Because ..."If anyone of have read the 0.5 version of the selection called 'the Prince' which is in Maxon's point of view, you would know that Maxon had been against the selection in the first place but when he met America he had said that he had a reason to continue the competition. And that would most definitely work, I hadn't thought of Lucy, of course that would happen. Anyway can't wait for the book. TEAM MAXON
I'm team Maxon, because I just think that he's better. He also loves her and she loves him. It's just that she's not sure about Aspen and what he is in her heart. I would truly be disappointed if she didn't end up with Maxon because the entire thing is about The Selection and from her POV, so it would make sense for her to be with Maxon in the end. :)
You know that preview for The One that says "Come out, Mer, it's Max"? Well, it doesn't feel like that's how Maxon would say that sentence. I don't know, it sounds more like something Aspen would say. If it were Maxon saying that sentence, I think it'd go more like "Come out, America, it's Maxon." Plus, I don't think Maxon ever called America "Mer."
I cant even right now the amount of love i share for these books and the love i feel there is between America and Maxon is completely unbearable. I swear i did a little happy dance when aspen realized america still wanted maxon(: though i am so very hopeful that true love defeats all and America and Maxon end up together the amount of sadness and anger i will feel if things turn out different will be crazy. I actually don't think i will survive until may, come faster i need to read that book>.< Long live Maxon and America<3

Okay so i sorta liked aspen but they way he acted towards America about Maxon made me hate him. He had no right to get upset that America didnt want to marry him because she didnt feel the same way anymore, i still believe in maxon winning America's heart
Lol people are saying that they don't like Aspen because he broke things off with America in the first book and then they say that while Maxon's thing with Celeste was wrong, "he's still human." Right because it's ok for Maxon to be excused, yet Aspen can't catch a break. People need to stop being so harsh on him.
I just need to say this. WHO ISN'T TEAM MAXON??? I'm team Maxon myself(obviously, who wouldn't love Maxon?) and so is pretty much everybody else. I just want to know if they're are ANY Aspen supporters. (Really I don't think there is.)I like Aspen but I LOVE Maxon! For some reason unknown to me I really don't like Aspen all that much. He seems pushy and annoying. Did the author do this on purpose? Did she make us all love Maxon and think Aspen is an idiot? Did she somehow hypnotize us into loving Maxon? Because in all those scenes in The Elite were he was all aloof and and I just wanted to cry... :( Or every time she was with Aspen I just wanted to punch her in the face... ;) Even America loves Maxon more... =D =D =D =D
I really can't say I'm team Maxon or Aspen because Prince Maxon has made some terrible decisions, for example making out with a half-naked Celeste(WHAT? I know, maybe Maxon is on crack, haha). That would have been fine because they would both foret about it after a while, but what enrage me was that he actually had feelings for Kriss? So apparently he wasn't that loyal/faithful to America, which isn't exactly his fault because America is two-timing too(ha!) On the other hand, Aspen's decision of breaking up with America was stupid as well and nearly unforgivable, but if you think about it, wasn't he the one to support her and be there for her the whole time, while Prince Maxon continuously hurts America's feelings, overwhelming her with jealousy?
Aspen deserves better. With a similar personality of two-timing, maybe Maxon should be with America! They're both pretty terrible :( If Maxon focuses more on America and vice versa, i would root for Maxon, which we'll see about in the last book of the triology! If not...well too bad :P

I really didn't want to be Maxon and I just kept thinking, 'Maybe Maxon has a secret twin brother.' Obviously he doesn't. I also agree with you about Aspen. He deserves better. She's leading him on, acting like she didn't agree earlier on that she would marry Maxon. At first when Maxon started hanging out with Kriss I thought he was doing it to make America jealous. I was completly wrong(sadly so.)
I was really sad about little there was of Maxon/America and scenes there were in The Elite.
I really hate books with love triangles.
I always end up loving both boys(it's not their fault they love a girl who can't decide who she loves) and hating the bitch heroine and wanting to punch her in the face. (Sorry for the violence.'
I know she's gonna end up hurting one of them. The there are those rare occasions were I like the girl and love just one of the boys. Sadly that isn't the case for these books... :(
To be perfectly honest, I HATE Aspen. Every time a scene with him comes up, I completely skip over it. If he dies or is so sad/angry about losing America to Maxon in The One, I honestly won't care; I feel nothing for this character, just like Primrose from The Hunger Games. Unlike Maxon, Aspen is honestly not that likable -- at least to me.

The One`s cover is America in a wedding dress. Who is that wedding dress for? Maxon did say that he would rather be in Americas arms but she has barely spoken to him. Now since she knows that she is probably going to do everything she can to win.

Team MAXON!!! I was so not happy when Aspen reappeared.. like really? seriously? And America starts secretly seeing him? It pissed me off....I really hate love triangles. Just pick ONE and MOVE ON...stringing them both along is just cruel. Aspen is a nice guy I guess...but he should have left her alone like freaking hell...what if they get caught? But I guess it made the book interesting... i was anxious the whole time. I realised while reading the comments...there aren't many Aspen fans so if she does end up with him there will be A LOT of dissapointed fans. So please let her be with Maxon.

Didn't give him a chance? Aspen got all the chances. Did America throw Aspen out of her room without explanation? Did she blame him for something that was out of his control? Did she shut him out? the answer NO she didn't If Aspen said something she wholeheartedly believed him. Aspen got every chance ALSO HE PUT HER AT RISK.
I'm with everyone on this. TEAM MAXON!!! If America and Maxon aren't together I am just going to be so angry. I am upset with Maxon though because of the things he did and I get it we're all human, but still if you really like someone then no that's the person you will choose. You will make sure that person understands that if your fighting for me I will do the same.

I feel like I am America every time I pick up one of these books I don't know who I want too. Sometimes Maxon says something that makes me believe America should end up with him and then Aspen does something to make me want him to be with America. But one thing that makes me want aspen to win is something America said in The Elite "I remembered suddenly that Aspen has always been this way. He sacrificed sleep for me, he risked getting caught after curfew for me, he scrounged together pennies for me. Aspen's generosity was hard to see because it wasn't as grand as Maxon's , but the heart behind what he gave was so much bigger." To me when I read that I believed truly that she loves what he sacrifices and what he does for her. But I also love the charming visits Maxon gives to America. So I guess I'm not really on a team! I cant wait for The One to come out!

I'm not assuming anything! I'm well aware Aspen can afford a wedding for america. I was just saying is it Maxon's or Aspen's wedding she's at? that was the question I was asking.
if she doesn't end up with Maxon i think i'll flip my shit! i cant freaking stand aspen and kriss seems so bloody fake its not even funny. The end will be disappointing and dull if she ends up with aspen and the whole book will be completely pointless.

Anyway, not only is Aspen confusing America's feelings, but he is also endangering her life. Because, what if they get caught together? America and Aspen would be charged with treason and could get hung or something (which I doubt Maxon would allow)!
