I think more rebel attacks, someone important will probably die, Maxon will end up kicking everyone but America and Kriss out and have to make a hard decision. I think Aspen is going to keep bugging America until she gives up and tells Mason, oooor Aspen will die during an attack. America will continue to stand up for herself.

it was from his father. I think Maxon should stand up to his father about it and in front of his mom so she knows what's up. then the King gets like kicked out or something
yes! America is right about that. honestly i wouldnt be able to live in a world where i had alimited amout of options of what i could do. I think America and Maxon would be able to slowly make the changes eeded to get rid of the castes and they would end up being the best rulers. i also think they would be the ones to rebel against all rules. like they wouldnt sell their daughts (if they had some) to another country they would probably let them choose. and they would let their son pick the ladies from start to finish.
definetly, America is making Maxon a better person, i can only assume she would do the same for the world
I think after the stunt Aspen pulled on America at the end of The Elite, she will try and put lots of distance b/w them, or at least I'm hoping because Maxon is to good to deny!!
yes, i want to be able to figure out their motives and what they are looking for. but i think America is right about them looking for books
I have to re-write a part of a book for a project in my english class and i was thinking of re-writing the part when America dumps the pennies into Aspen's hands and the one gets stuck so she keeps it and the jar and packs them. any ideas on how to word that well?!?
maybe just describe it as the pennies comimg out of the jar as if rushing water. a stream that would not be satisfied. it poured out all her old dreams, hopes, every old and torn memory of love. other than that, not really

It's good to talk about this because after reading the entire Selection series up to this point, including the two novellas, I really needed to get my thoughts together. And I agree with you 100%, Karla.
Team Maxon totally. I know she liked Aspen before, but Maxon has sacrificed so much for her. Also the fact that if she gets caught with Aspen she could potentially get him and herself killed. I feel like the elements between her and Maxon are better than her relationship with Aspen.
**DISCLAIMER** Because I don't know how to do that "hide/spoiler alert" thing, here's my disclaimer. SPOILER ALERT!And now I'm back with time to answer this question better than my first reply.
For starters, I like both Aspen and Maxon. They both have good hearts and I feel they both love America. At this point, I'll be okay with whomever America chooses because I feel they will take care of her in their own ways.
With that said, I will be lying if I didn't mention I'm really, really hoping she'll choose Maxon and vice versa.
I know Aspen loves America and always has an probably always will. I also understand that Aspen encouraged her to enter the Selection because he wanted what was best for her. However, I feel he didn't respect America enough to let her make her own decision. She loved him wholly and completely. She was more than ready to give up her present lifestyle if that meant she could be happy with Aspen. He didn't consider this or he considered it, but to put his mind at ease, he chose to let her go.
Because he chose to let her go, I think he should see his decision through. He was, more or less, prepared to live the rest of his life without her if that meant she would be happy and well taken cared of. Knowing she cares for Maxon and quite possibly loves him, he should do everything he can to make sure she's happy. He should be helping her win him, even though it hurts him because that's what he hoped for, America and a better life.
Now, Maxon. I see that he cares for and loves her. I see that he's trying to give her time to come to grips with what would be her new life and responsibilities. I understand that if America cannot show faith and trust in Maxon, he's forced to marry someone who will. I just hope--really, really hope--that he chooses America. At the end of Elite, America seems to choose Maxon and therefore will be fighting to show him she can do it. I just hope he doesn't crush her and choose Kriss. America has gone through a lot and has already suffered heartache and lost. I just hope Maxon doesn't make her go through that again because she was scared and didn't adjust fast enough for him.
I am scared and excited to read The One. I just caught up with this series and May is still far too long a wait. I feel for those of you who have been waiting over a year!
I want to be team Maxton so badly but I was disappointed with the last book and his every growing interest in not America!
@Kylia I know what you mean. I've reasoned that he's trying to give America and himself time. Like he said, she already has his heart, she needs his trust. If she can show him he can trust her, win! In the mean time, if America decides not to be with Maxon and refuses to be a Princess, he still needs to pick someone.
That's the life preserver I'm hanging on to in terms of Maxon & America. I really hope they come out on top.
I want Aspen to end up with Lucy soooo badly but I have a sinking feeling that Maxon is going to find out about Aspen and that will be the end of her and Maxon and I will cry buckets of angry anguished tears if that happens.
I'm totally into Maxon, even after his behaiviour! I just don't get the whole Aspen thing, maybe they would be great as best friends or something.... And I do think the King is going to die in the next book, otherwise Maxon will never be free from his Father and his cruelty. Do you guys think the Queen knows about it?
Yeah, I think the Queen knows about it and I think in the end, the Queen will help America, Maxon and the rebells in some way to kill/get rid of the king. And I think, too, that Maxon will find out about America an Aspen: big fight first but then, after a while, there will be a happy End for Mer&Max :-)

Good point!!! He says he loves her, but he is being selfish by the way he acts.

MAXON MAXON MAXON MAXON MAXON!!! Even though there was that little disappointing but with Celeste, but who really cares! Celeste will be out in no time! But really, come on people, Aspen is so selfish and really isn't nearly as nice as Maxon.
TEAM MAXON ALL THE WAY. HE MIGHT OF HAD A FLING WITH CELESTE( WHO I HATE) HE IS STILL WAY BETTER THAN HEART BREAKING THAN WANTING YOU BACK ASPEN!CANT WAIT TILL THE ONE COMES OUT AMERICA NEEDS TO PICK MAXON IN THE END AND MAXON NEEDS HER. ALSO IS IT JUST ME BUT I MISS MARLEE

For me, everyone in this book is frustrating, and i'm fifty fifty between maxon and aspen, to be honest. Like, Aspen should have showed up earlier and not made her choice hard, or America could have just stuck to Maxon anyways. I'm dissapointed, like, of all the people for maxon to kiss, it had to be Celeste, who hates america's guts, and i hate her guts- Celeste, that is, not America. Like, at least make it another girl instead of Celeste. I am so dissapointed in Maxon. And America does have something to offer- alliance with Italy- she forgot when the king told her she has nothing to give. Wasn't Italy tough to ally, hasn't the king been trying to ally with them forever? Well, America's his way in. When I found out about the abuse, i was shocked. And, I cannot wait to read the third book- i don't know who i want america to pick.
If you read the last few chapters where MAXON and america we're making out everything is fine in thier love story

Erin wrote: "I can't wait for the 3rd and last book"Same. I will probably finish it the same day i get it, when i get caught up in a book, i practically inhale it. I just hope it's a good finale.
TEAM MAXON!. Aspen just left America even though she said she would wait. MAXON is so sweet. You know he loves America and would do anything for her. I hope she goes for MAXON in the end. :)
I never liked Aspen from the start, how he put America in danger and cared way more about being with her than about her actual self and her safety. But now I don't like Maxon either.
The whole kissing Celeste thing was explained and justified but, really, just no. If you really love someone, like he supposedly loves America, you would be perfectly okay with NOT getting to kiss anyone else while they're confused. He's also using Celeste. And yes, she's doing the same to him, but that doesn't really justify going behind America's back and kissing another girl because he's too impatient and selfish to wait for her to sort things out. (Also, all of this stuff is pretty psychologically understandable considering the life Maxon's had, and doesn't make him a bad person. It just makes the book not romantic or sweet at all anymore.)
The Kriss thing was fine in my opinion because those were genuine feelings, all it means is that America isn't The only One for him like he says, which while it ruined their relationship for me, is not actually a character flaw or Maxon's fault or anything.
