Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Fredrick Black hides everything here. Enough weapons to equip an army, food stored up for years, magical items of various use and worth, even a few revolutionary inventions that could make one a billionaire.
There are rules in this home.
1. No guests
2. No thieves
3. Arriving at all puts your life on forfeit.
Fredrick can tell when you come in, and being bound to time he can be there in less than a second. Most of the things in here are rigged, so one good push and you're dead, really.

((Awwww man this is so awesomeee))

message 3: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments ((I wanted to do more, so I will.))
Most of the items were invented by Fredrick's father, whom he has met four times, battled to the death with three times, and hugged once.

message 4: by Kendra (last edited Jun 06, 2013 10:39AM) (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Fredrick Black pulled himself from the mini-abyss, the only way in here. The tunnel had no entrances but teleportation or portals. The demoness probably knows nothing about the Golden Demon. Predator, though...
"Hello, 'brother,'" Darkness formed from the shadows, pistol cocked and aimed at Fredrick's head.
Fredrick calmly sat on a bench that had a secret container in it holding firedragons (dragons made of fire that circle around whoever opens the jar, protecting them).
"What a way to prove you're better than someone, Darkness. Shooting them without giving them a chance to get to their weapon." That wasn't how Darkness was going to kill him. It was personal for the demon that he be the best son their father could want. He didn't want to kill Fredrick until he'd outdone him.
Darkness kept the pistol aimed, though. An instant's loss of his guard and he had a knife in his head, and he wasn't going to give Fredrick the opportunity.
"One on one, then. In two days by the lake."
"I'll be there," Fredrick lied. I've got bigger fish to fry than demons with daddy issues, he communicated with his eyes to Darkness, who was too thick to pick up on it.
Fredrick snapped his fingers, opening up a mini-abyss near Darkness.
"There's the door."
"I'll leave with the shadows, thanks," Darkness snarled, dissolving into the shadows.

message 5: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Deciding that Darkness had most likely stopped waiting at the lake and given up now, Fredrick decided that it was time to stop poring over his father's noted.
"Bring me to a demon who intends harm," he told his magic.
And he was swallowed up by a mini-abyss.

message 6: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Fredrick was belched up by the earth and came face to face with Darkness again.
"You didn't show," his half-brother snarled.
A knife hit Darkness in the stomach, then caught fire before it flew back into Fredrick's hand at the same time as Blacksblade cutting into four of Darkness's major arteries. Fredrick whirled beneath Darkness's arms, stabbed him in the back with the flaming knife, and pushed him into the mini-abyss, withdrawing his knife with the fire-makes-it-fly-at-his-command move.
Then he closed the mini-abyss.

message 7: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Daisy stopped dead at the mouth of the dark, gaping tunnel. Henry leaped off her back and stood by her side, peering in. “Is anyone there?” he called, and his voice bounced off the empty walls. No one seemed to be home, but just in case he pulled out his whip.
Daisy shuffled on her hoofs, feeling that they shouldn’t be here.

message 8: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments ((There is no entrance. You have have to be able to...))
A mini-abyss, a hole, seemed to come into existence beneath them, sliding them under a shelf of rock into a base described above. Before they could blink they were surrounded by flaming, floating blades.
"Any redeemable qualities that would make you useful to keep around?" Fredrick asked.
Then:
"Why do you have a pumpkin for a head?"

message 9: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) ((*shrugs* What could I do?))

Daisy tried to block Henry’s body from the man now in front of them. She gave a great huff that very clearly told him that if he went near Henry, he would be sorry.
Henry meanwhile, touched his head defensively. “It’s comes with being a dulahan,” he said.

message 10: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments "The Headless Horseman never did that."
Fredrick then drew Blacksblade and cut into Daisy's leg while kicking Henry's skeletal legs from under him.
"Why should I let you live?"

message 11: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Daisy shrieked at the man’s attack, and stumbled to the ground.
Not saying anything to the man, Henry roared, “Run for it, Daisy!” With a flick of his wrist, the whip slashed forward and wrapped around the swords hilt. He gave it an almighty tug so that the sword escaped the man’s hand. It clattered to the floor next to Henry, and he picked it up and pointed it at his opponent.

message 12: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments ((Did I mention Blacksblade can only be wielded by his family? I really should'v.))
The hilt scalded Henry's hand, nearly burning off the flesh.
Fredrick threw a tomahawk into Henry's arm and a knife into his chest.
No one touched Blacksblade but him.
No one.

message 13: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) ((Flesh?))

Henry gave a yelp and dropped the sword when it burned him. He quickly got to see that his glove was melted, revelling his skeletal hand. Just then, the tomahawk sliced into his arm and the man dug the knife into his chest. It slipped and missed any ribs.
He kicked the man square in the chest using his two feet, and made him stumble backwards. At the same time, Daisy launched herself behind him and wrapped her fang-like teeth into his shoulder. No one – NO ONE – has the right to hurt her rider.

message 14: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments ((Whatever.))
((Mhm. Fredrick never STUMBLES.))
What he did instead was a controlled launch off the wall using Henry's force to his advantage, hammering both feet into Daisy's injured leg with his own and Henry's force.
Then he engaged the knives that had just been floating there, flaming, useless, calling on them to cut Henry and Daisy's legs and (in Henry's case) arms at the joints, rendering them helpless.

message 15: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments ((The last time he stumbled, he was eleven. Sorry, I've out his entire backstory, get really sensitive when people make him seem weak. And I know, I made the perfect soldier, I made a killing machine, he has lots of internal weaknesses due to a scarring past.))

message 16: by Jasmine (last edited Jun 06, 2013 01:05PM) (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Daisy reeled back with pain, and let go of the man.
Henry had just gotten to his feet when the swords and daggers around him started to aim themselves towards him. The shot at him like arrows, but he managed to dodge a few of them. But he still got one in the shoulder blade and in the ankle joint. He had no choice – he had to lean on his uninjured leg. We aren’t going to win, was his only thought. Another flick of the wrist allowed the whip to smack the man on his back. The crack the whip made was loud and painful sounding.
Daisy, unfortunately, was not as quick with the swords and daggers, and they sunk into her flesh. Blood spilled from her wounds, but she wasn’t going down.

message 17: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Fredrick internalized the pain, not letting a single iota of it out.
Yes, just toss the pain in the pile of broken dreams, the human in him said. That won't destroy your humanity any more than it already is.
Fredrick then surged forward with Blacksblade in hand and stabbed Henry in the pumpkin. Then he threw the pumpkin into his chest, which would logically collapse him.
But this was a magical creature, and Fredrick in no way expected logic to win.
"Why are you here?"

message 18: by Jasmine (last edited Jun 06, 2013 12:12PM) (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Henry threw the pumpkin away and off his chest, not needing it. He might have not been able to see or talk, but he could still sense things, and could still fight and hear.
With his other hand, Henry reached into his cloak to unsheathed his own sword. He swung it towards Black’s scarred neck.

message 19: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments ((How'd you know it was scarred?))
Fredrick caught both of the swords by the hilt intentionally, stopping both from using weapons. Then he aimed his hand at Henry's chest before launching a green lightning bolt into it.
((Fredrick's going easy on him.))

message 20: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) ((It was on his profile. I need to go now - dinner. Be back in a few!))

message 21: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments ((Wow. Lunch time here.))

message 22: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Henry flew backwards with the force of the green light hitting his chest. He hit the ground with a thud! He tried to sit up, but couldn’t. This time, one of his ribs where most defiantly broken.

((It's actually only 5, but I always have my dinner early.))

message 23: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments ((And quickly.))
I am a rib! I am defiant in my brokenness!

Fredrick did not think this as he used a similar trick to throw the horse to the ground, crippled.
His blade began slowly peeling away layers on another of Henry's ribs.
"Who are you? Why are you here? Who told you about me? Why shouldn't I tear your soul in half?"

message 24: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Henry desperately wanted to scream with the pain. The man – who was now certainly Black – ripped his shirt and started to peel his ribs like he was carving into wood. But no matter what he did, he couldn’t say anything.
Daisy lay crumpled on the ground. Broken and useless. She knew as little as the man did about Henry’s actions to come here – he probably didn’t know himself.

message 25: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments One of the ribs caved under Blacksblade's tip and Fredrick moved on to the next, calmly continuing to apply the screwdriver-like method of carving through the bone.
He would have said something, but he figured that the setup was self-explanatory: Answer and it stops.

message 26: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Henry tried to squirm away from Black – to try and stop this agonizing pain.
From the way, Henry was tossing about, Daisy knew how much pain he must have been in. Raising her head, she screamed at the man, “Stop it! I’ll tell you, OK! Just stop it!”

message 27: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Fredrick sheathed Blacksblade, but the knives were ready to spring onto Henry and Daisy at any second.
I can't support the knives for more than ten minutes, he knew he was bluffing right then. But he could still torture without magic. He let all but two knives fall.
"Talk."

message 28: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Daisy nodded to Henry. “He is Henry Headless – the next Headless Horseman. I am his horse, Daisy. You might have heard of me in some war stories.”

message 29: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments "Go on," Fredrick said, not caring. "Why are you here, who told you about me, should I let you live and why? If you say I shouldn't, I'll just take your word for it, though."

message 30: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) “I don’t know who told Henry about you,” she said, truthfully. “But it must have been a fellow demon. It told him about his father joining the demons in the eighteenth century – only a demon can know that.
As for why we were here, the only explanation I can give is that Henry wanted to find you, and judging from how intent Henry was to slice your head off, I’d say he wanted to kill you. For his own reasons or orders, I can't say.”

message 31: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments "That would be why I was asking him," Fredrick was a bit put off by this turn of events.
It would be much simpler to kill them both, he decided, and snapped his fingers.
The two knives surged toward the two crippled fighters.

message 32: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Daisy eyed the incoming knife, but did not flinch. Instead, she said very loudly, “Ever accord to you that he can’t speak without a head? Or that I have information about how you can win the war?”

message 33: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments "I've never had trouble at winning wars, but..." the knives impaled the pumpkin and dumped it onto Henry's neck.
"Talk."

message 34: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) “Take us out of here first,” she demanded, “or else take a devil’s oath that you will let us escape.”
Henry lay still, begging Daisy not to do this. This was exactly the opposite of what he was trying to do.

message 35: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments "How about instead, I swear on my power, meaning I explode if I back out, that I will let you live if Henry answers my questions? Will that work for you?"

message 36: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) ((Sorry for the long gap – shower. Hey, your not actually going to kill my characters, are you?))

“Ask all you like,” Henry told him, “I’m willing to suffer if it means others can live.”
“Stop being stupid,” Daisy said. “Just tell him what he wants!”
“No.”

message 37: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments ((See the rules above.))
"I'm flexible," Fredrick decided, and sliced through the last of Henry's ribs.

message 38: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) ((But... *pupy eyes* you can't just kill my characters...))

Henry roared with the agony was his last rib was sliced. It was then Henry took matters into his own hands. He grabbed the knife in his shoulder and stabbed it into Black’s side.

message 39: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments ((He will if Henry doesn't talk))
Except that instead Fredrick caught Henry's wrist and stabbed the knife into his collarbone before tossing it away. Then he began pouring hellfire, the fire that consumes souls, onto Henry. No matter how invincible Henry was, he couldn't take much of this.

message 40: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Ash walked around Fredrick's home, unaware of what was going on in what seemed like a world away. He shouted, hoping the owner would hear, "We need to talk."

message 41: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments ((How'd he get in?))

message 42: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) ((He's in the area before Fred opens his mini-abyss. Please don't kill this one.))

message 43: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments ((Henry still has a few seconds.))
Fredrick broke off the torrent of hellish flames, leaving Henry barely alive.
He reached for his bow and notched an arrow.
"Come to me slowly," he called to Ash.

message 44: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Ash saw as a mini abyss opened up. He had no intention on going through, and just to be careful, he stepped to the side of it. "I'm just here to tell you," he said, "All Hunters need to meet up somewhere. I think I have a place, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I heard you were a Hunter, and came to tell you." With that, Ash bid farewell to Fredrick, and went away.

((I needed to somehow tell you that. I thought that while I have you, I'd squeeze that in there.))

Henry meanwhile, said to Black with the last energy he had, "I don't know who told me about you. He spoke to me... in my mind."

message 45: by Kendra (last edited Jun 07, 2013 08:21AM) (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Fredrick was not that sort of Hunter. He was only hunting demons.
Fredrick was going to let Henry die right there. Then his conscience, with Mat's voice, started needling him.
Who are you to decide who deserves to live or die?
"Gah!" Fredrick told Mat. "Fine!"
He pulled out a vial of experimental potions that should heal. Fortunately, they worked perfectly, and half each fixed the horse and horseman and even pumpkin up to fitness.
"Leave," he told them.

message 46: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Henry was gobsmacked, as Black healed both him and Daisy. He was there, not ten seconds ago, ready to rip Henry’s very soul from him, and all of a sudden he saved them. Of course, he didn’t question it. He just got onto Daisy’s back, nodded to him - thankful that his pumpkin and body were now fully healed – and left through the abyss without a word.

((Thank you for that, Manic. That was a great battle; very refreshing.))

message 47: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments The reanimated corpse fell to its knees, armless, before Fredrick Black.
"Reset," he told it, and it stood, once again, in perfect fighting condition.
"Oberhau attack," he commanded.
The bound-to-be-a-training-dummy skeleton began a strong horizontal slice at Fredrick, but never got farther than that because the half-demon had stepped into the path of the blow, grabbed the skeleton's arm, spun the combatant around and threw him on the ground, scattering his bones.
Fredrick stepped back into position. "Reset," he commanded.
"Lunge."
The reformed skeleton lunged at Fredrick, who was too quick for it. The skeleton lost its fingers just before Blacksblade pierced right through the skull of the skeleton before swiveling around, carrying the skull with it, and bashing into the spinal column of the aforementioned skeleton, sending it toppling in a clatter of bones.
"Reset."

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

Smoke billowed in an undisturbed area, evaporating away to leave three very misplaced creatures.
Sebastian coughed a bit, having left his mouth gaping open during the trip.
"Alright, so we should all just stand here until Fredrick finds us. Agreed?" He couldn't help but whisper, in fear a voice-activated alarm would go off.
"Oh and lets not move at all." He added as an afterthought, staying in the same position he was in.

message 49: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Fredrick had disabled the skeleton a few times more before he told it to shut down, which it did by fading into nothing until he needed it again.
His eyes saw the magic of a banshee, a Possessor, and something similar to a Daurum and he knew they were there.
He casually popped the lid off of a jar of dragons made entirely of green energy. They were each twelve feet long and about five inches thick, with no wings. They were chaotic creatures, barely controlled by Fredrick's stronger willpower. A dozen of them got into position and Fredrick summoned the mini-abysses, in the shapes of slides, delivering the SSS.
Once in the room, the dragons tied their own tails around them and pulled them into a spread-eagle position, suspended six inches off of the ground.
Fredrick then began sprinkling golden dust on all of them.
"If you try to cast magic, the dust will tell the dragons and they will explode. Why are you here?"

Skyra limply lay in Sabine's arms. Her body was light, given her muscle and wings. It was easiest that way. Her wings, speaking of them, had disappeared into her skin, making her disguise as a mundane perfect. Though her mind thought otherwise, her body sensed the power in the room from all of them.
