((Just a quick thing to say; I'm currently trying to balance my second year of high school, which is the most stressful year. On top of that I have drill team and art classes, cosplay outfits and work, along with various clubs I'm in. I only get on once a day during the weekdays, and when I do, I'm tired and drained, and am not enthusiastic about it. I don't read entire posts, so I'm just apologizing in advance for any mistakes I make. However stupid or silly they are, I'm telling you right now, they aren't done knowingly. I write and read far better on the weekend, so just lower your standards for me right now.))

((Ignore the stupid gun thing then.))

Sebastian just stood there, in the same stance. He waited for whatever move Sabine was going to throw at him. He knew she wasn't experienced, and neither was himself, but at least Sebastian had largely increased endurance. But he supposed her banshee form would provide that. He was going to assume Fredrick wouldn't allow her to transform at the moment.

message 403: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) ((Gah. Sorry guys that I've been on and off like a light. Oh, and she's already in her banshee form. But I can sort that out.))

When she saw Sebastian ready himself for attack, Sabine felt hurt. One of her friends was willing to attack her, and she felt betrayed. Well, she finally thought. If he’s going to be like that... Staying to Fredrick’s rule, she shifted out of her banshee form and started to move her cane in her fingers as she moved forwards. It was an unthreatening approach – as if she were strolling. Suddenly, the cane’s snake-headed tip struck out and smacked Sebastian right across the face. Guilt washed over her, but Sabine did not show this guilt.

message 404: by [deleted user] (new)

Seb smirked wildly. Although he only felt a mild sting, his flesh did redden a lot, leaving a rose-colored mark, slowly turning purple. He loved being a demon.
Though damage to his vessel could harm him, too. Complete destruction of it would leave him useless, but his soul was really the direct way to harm him.

message 405: by Kendra (last edited Sep 13, 2013 09:13PM) (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Wow, smirking. In a fight. And not hitting back. There's lots to teach you, Fredrick whispered into the Lesser's head. Sabine, press your advantage, he's not even taken his weapon out. Don't use your cane, cut him up and disable him. Aim for his joints or nerve clusters.

Just to give Tara something to do:

Tesir's voice reverbarated in Skyra's mind.
You cannot trust the Nephilim. Get him three-on-one, you can take him.

message 406: by [deleted user] (new)

He rolled his eyes comically, whipping out his new knife. He was skeptical about it, though. Whereas Sebastian could fashion a new body to inhabit with ease, Sabine was very much sliceable. He honestly didn't like fighting someone he would call an acquaintance, but he weaved around her, sneakers skidding in the dirt.

message 407: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Sebastian, you need to get her off-balance and get to your gun.
Sabine, keep Sebastian at a distance and away from the handgun. You have the advantage of range and you also have two weapons. Use your cane to intercept his arm and force him to withdraw with stabs keep up the pressure and pin him againt something.

Since Fredrick is critiqueing, I'd like you guys to include things like footwork, where the tip of their weapon is vs where their hand is, wrist movement, whether they're backing up or advancing.

tara wolfprism (tarawolfprism) | 1061 comments Mod
Skyra didn't flinch as her enemy's voice whispered in her mind. She had been expecting it sooner or later. For your information, she allowed herself a yawn, I don't trust either of you. Her eyes glanced at Sebastian who really needed to move and adjust his footwork, no doubt what Fredrick was trying to do.

message 409: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Sabine flinched when she saw Sebastian whip out his knife. She had been stabbed before by Fredrick and it was not a nice experience – and now she was determined not to get stabbed again by an absolute douche-bag that was once was her comrade. So, using Fredrick’s advice, the banshee snapped out the cane and smacked the knife right out of his hands. It fell a few feet away, but before he could lurch for it, she blocked his way. With a quick flick, she unsheathed her sword and pointed the thin but sharp end to his throat. Her eyes scanned for the gun, but she couldn’t see it.

message 410: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments She's stepped out of your way, dive for the gun. Speed is your best shot, Fredrick told Seb.
To Sab:
Watch his body language. You may have lost track of the handgun, but that's his surest way of winning, so he hasn't unless he continues to be the inept fighter he has been, Fredrick added to himself. Where he lurches, block.
To Sebastian:
I would definitely make a feint toward the knife before going to the handgun, get her off guard. Also, despite popular belief, the movies do NOT teach proper fighting techniques. It had taken a long time to explain that to David, who had kept trying to perform physical impossibilities.

I wouldn't trust me either, drake, Tesir agreed. Trust is stupid and blind. But you can know that I only wanted to get to your race to get him out of the way. Once he's gone, I have no need of you and you can continue your life. I will even open a gateway back to your home world. The first part, of course, was a blatant lie. He will open a gateway to her home world once he figures out where it is, but he won't take her unless he's already enslaved her by then (it would be totally awesome if he temporarily enslaved her before someone *cough* Sebastian *cough* interrupted the runes Tesir was using to enslave her with the power of having a Mohawk).

May I be the first to say to you that your explanation is... What do the humans say? Bullshit. Never you fear, if you two ever battle it out, I won't get in the way. It's petty really... her thoughts took on a cold regal tone, that one of you simply haven't killed the other just yet. Skyra had a regal posture now and a gleam in her eye as she watched the fight but it wasn't the battle she was amused and interested about...

message 412: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Not utter. I will open a gateway to your homeworld. Half-truths, Skyra. They're very powerful. The Serpent tempted one-third of The Sons of The Almighty with half-truths, eventually leading to our pitiable existence, the existence with the knowledge that we had lost everything. Tesir's emotion was barely contained in his words, and for the first time the possibility came up that he was just doing this to find someone to talk to.

tara wolfprism (tarawolfprism) | 1061 comments Mod
Skyra's head tilted t the very possibility, it flashing through her mind but to quick for Tesir to grasp. Half-truths are powerful but they have the most dangerous consequence. Glimpses of the past run through my mind Tesir, her tone hadn't softened but she said his name with equality, showing to him she regarded him as a challenge, I have seen what half-truths have done to magnanimous men who just want to do right for their people.

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Who just want to do right? Lucifer promised me freedom. He told me of the humans thaf The Almighty had created. Our new brothers. He told me that despite how me and my angelic brothers had served The Almighty for 13.8 billion years, the human, made of dust, would be made lord and master over me and my angels. That much was true. The Almighty would have seen fit to bring in his new children at our expense, let them claim OUR inheritance. That much was true. Then he asked me if I was content to spend an eternity serving dust. He challenged the existance of free will and whether or not our existance had a point, serving either the One who is completely self-sufficient and dust beasts. He convinced me... He told me that my father did not love me. And I had no answer. Then, we are cast down to earth and Lucifer goes mad. We all do, mad with loss. Loss of the perfect lives and perfect father and perfect brothers we once had. Whatever inheritance the humans would have left for us, Lucifer gad talked us out of. And that is when I saw that I had been played for a fool. Lucifer had tricked me and now we were his slaves. I could no longer call him a friend after that, even if I had wanted to. He was insane, and a cruel master. And he was to blame for everything. I would rather serve dirt than him, for he had lowered himself far below the position of the human. I took my first opportunity and faked my death to escape his tyranny. But I will still burn in the Lake, when the trumpet sounds. I need a new world for refuge, a world where I can start over, beholden to none. I need your world. I need to find the New Dimension. And I will, if I have to slaughter q universe. If I have to fight an ARMY of Nephilim, I will come out on top.

Skyra listened passively till she heard the last part of her world. I have witnessed what you speak yet never heard it from a view such as yours, she admitted. But I must ask, Skyra's voice naturally sounded like a royal request, Why did you target myself when there are many unique creatures to choose from? Many universes and realms to be explored. The way she made it out sounded like it would have been ok if he didn't answer but a sense of disappointment from a royal would probably reside in him if he didn't answer.

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Those Dimensions were created from Dark Energy (I finally named it!). Yours is made of a type of magic that no one has encountered before, which is why I can't find it. It's also why I will not be sent to the Lake of Fire. I will be out of sight, out of mind. The young, impressionable Darkness is helping me if I can get him the Nephilim and though I would much rather have Fredrick's help, a son of Belial will be needed to cast the spell to tranmit my own base structure into this New Energy (I've named that, too!).

Skyra mentally shrugged. It wasn't a good enough explanation why he was interested in her race. There were different unexplainable races Skyra knew of... Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Fredrick threw a knife into the handgun, knocking the pistol out of Seb's hand again. His throwing knife returned to him, though not before knocking Seb's knife toward him. Fair is fair, and fights are not. "Cut him up," Fredrick told Sabine, this time verbally. Mentally,
Aim for his fingers. Take those out of the play and he can't fight back.

"Enough," Skyra's voice rang out. Something raw inside of her was flickering, she couldn't take any more of this type of training. It reminded her too much... of her past. Of the lessons she had grown up with. Standing up, she strode over to Sabine, plucking the knife out of her hands and tucking it into her other boot, so now she had two. "I know them Fredrick and if you want them to be smart and good fighters, this isn't the way to do it." For once, she was taking initiative verbally. She couldn't seem naive in this situation. Assured strides in her walk, she went over to Fredrick. Skyra grabbed his arm to turn him around so she could telepathically speak to him strong. They only will get paralyzed in a real fight by this. They haven't grown up to violence of this raw sort. You need to teach them basics, like a class. It will register in their minds better and most of all, they will actually remember it.

message 429: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments If we waste time with the basics, they will be using basic techniques against fully trained soldiers. I'm teaching them shortcuts, because that is their best bet. If you think you can train them batter, be my guest. He gestured for her to go ahead and teach.

Gladly, her eyes flared with her temper as she turned sharpy and headed to her friends, or for now, poor pupils. "You guys don't have to worry about fighting each other for now." As she spoke the next instructions, she helped them into a position of knees bent, arms flexed, and equal weight on each foot. "This is the basic fighting stance, what I'll give you a crash course in. It's the best shot you guys have of mastering each move I'm about to teach you. Once you two know how, I'll just test how you can do them in fluid movement. In a real fight, you'll have your powers accessible."

Sebastian shuffled slightly, not exactly loving these fighting lessons. He was more of an improv guy, however risky it may be. He knew he'd totally forget any fighting moves once he was thrown into the thick of a battle, with the balance of life and death hung over his shoulders.
But if it would get the two "masters" to shut up, he was cool with it.

Under the disguise that she was fixing his posture of his arms, Skyra projected her voice into his mind, something that felt familiar. Whether that was positive or pejorative was still undecided. Deal with me here. Yet Skyra had some sort of power in her eye that didn't make it sound like a plea the words suggestion.

message 435: by [deleted user] (new)

His mis-colored eyes rolled in his head before he straightened up, showing that he would take it seriously. He still silently longed to return to his new journal. But, then again, Fredrick would probably turn his insides out if he walked away from the lesson.

((I'm sure.))

Skyra gritted her teeth in a flicker of annoyance. Sebastian, the demon arse who could always get on her nerve. She was sure it was displayed in her eyes as she finished adjusting his stance and checked Sabine's. Skyra spared a glance of, "Just you wait", to Fredrick. Coming back to the front, she stood tall and regal as she went over the mundane procedure. Like crud she would give them her techniques.
"You always need a steady mind, if you are going to get through fast action." To make sure Sebastian was paying attention...
"Like this," she gave an uppercut in his pure stomach below his ribs, but not to hard that it would damage his vessel... permanently. In her leather clothing, she truly looked dangerous.

message 439: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Sabine let out the breath she was holding once the demon let the barrel of the gun fall. She was eternally grateful for Skyra suddenly stopping the fight – she wasn’t in favour of being shot at by Sebastian. She had enough injuries for one banshee to last her a lifetime. As she shuffled into a ready stance, she heard the sound of a punch. Her head shot up to see Skyra’s fist draw away from Sebastian’s stomach. “OW!” she gasped, her eyes wincing and her hand covering her mouth. That had got to hurt.

message 440: by [deleted user] (new)

Sebastian would admit it- it had hurt. More so than it would in a broken-in vessel, but still. His breathe was knocked out of him as he crouched over slightly, glaring up defiantly at Skyra.
"Bitch," He muttered, standing up straight and wiping his forehead on his sleeve. He kept one hand resting gingerly on his tender tummy, knowing it would leave a horrendous bruise.
"Don't come crying to me next time you want to hug me for warmth. Feel free to freeze yourself." He added, face icy-cold. He truly wasn't in the mood for her stupid hormones. He wanted to leave and go home, where his home was. Hell, probably. He thought with an inward chuckle, though his face portrayed nothing.

Skyra's eyes went ice gold, the purity in the gesture disappearing. She whispered in his ear, "Just trying to see if your mind wasn't in the books." Her hiss sounded like a warning. She couldn't believe he brought that moment of weakness of hers in her face. Then, her face transforming again, amusement lit her face as her eyes laid on Sabine, "You didn't even feel it," a smirk hinted Skyra's dark lips.
Skyra Ryder was finally ready to make progress with these two. She stood in front of Sabine, holding the girl's fist close firmly. "Hit me. As hard as you can into my palm." Stepping back, Skyra took a stance with a palm in front of her, ready to experience a little force.
"Paying attention Sebastian?" Her cold voice directed throughout the air, again with a callous regal quality that would chill humans to the bone. Even supernaturals now that I think about it.

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments (( Fredrick's was too friendly. ))
(( Would you want Fredrick's birthday presents?
Other than the sweet skinning knife, of course. ))

Fredrick lifted an eyebrow that said,
my methods are questionable?
And he left them there while he began to break camp, sending unneeded supplies back into his secret base, dividing up camping equipment to who would carry what, began planning out their route, and other things that the people in the background do while the lead protagonist steals the show.

message 443: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Sabine was still wincing at Sebastian. Oh, she most defiantly did feel that. She would have asked was he okay, but he was fine with fighting her and she didn't want to get a punch from Skyra for stalling the lesson. So she turned to the dragon, her fists raised. She was Irish - she was a natural born boxer. Or, that's what she hoped, anyway. Whenever she punched someone, she never stopped to ask if it was good. She just ran for her life.
As hard as she could - without hurting her - Sabine hit her rolled up fist into Skyra's palm. When the blow was finished, the banshee looked at her exactingly, clearly asking what her punch was like.

Skyra simply rotated Sabine's wrist, so the pressure would be more in her own palm. "Try again," her stern voice commanded but her eyes were slightly proud. Encouraging really. Skyra knew Sabine could do this easily, but not because she knew Sabine was Irish.

message 445: by [deleted user] (new)

((All my pardons, friends. I've been incredibly busy this week. >_< ))

Sebastian watched, though not closely. His attention was fleeting, and although he did really try, he found himself wandering fairly quickly. He was currently picking at his nails, tending to them in a rather harsh matter. He'd only had his vessel for a day and his once pretty nails had already been bitten to the nub.

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) ((It’s okay, Tea. I’ve been pretty busy myself. The joys of September... XD
Oh, and Tara, that song for Sabine on Skyra’s playlist? Absolutely perfect. It suits their friendship down to a T.))

Sabine gave a curt nod and raised her fists once more, her face stern but her eyes still gleamed with that comical gleam of hers. She held a strong yet comfortable stance; she kept firmly on her toes. She threw another punch at Skyra’s open palm, harder than before. Her eyes glanced up to her friend’s golden ones. She wasn’t sure was she supposed to continuously jab or not.

((I'm glad you like it! I as well have felt the treacherous effect of school upon myself!))

Skyra nodded and let her hands down, her stern gaze sliding over to Sebastian. With a roll of those beautiful eyes, she stood in front of him, palms open. "Now you."

Skyra knew that if Sebastian pushed her to her absolute tolerance limit, she would handle him over to Fredrick and only train Sabine. It seemed like her close friend was tsing her more seriously and Skyra hated being ignored in matters like this.

message 448: by [deleted user] (new)

Sebastian mimicked her own eye gesture almost instinctively, making a point to get into the correct stance. His eyes darted down to check his footing, and he rocked back and forth for a moment until he had equal weight distribution. He wrapped his thumb underneath his curled fingers, forming a good fist. He kept them tight, before taking it back fast and throwing the punch at Skyra's fist. His aim was slightly off; instead of hitting the square middle, it was a bit off to the side. The throw landed on the base of her thumb.
He let his hand fall limply by his side and shrugged. "So?" He provided, crossing his arms. "What do I need to work on?"
It was really against his code to be trained by someone else, and he really didn't like that it was Skyra.

"Try it again like you mean it and I'll see," Skyra's tone was still the same, full of contempt but her eyes were disappointed, a flash really. Sebastian didn't need to give her such attitude about it. Then again, she had been the one to start it. To come of it, being around Sebastian was not proving to be a good factor for her right now. Her feelings were too... high.

message 450: by [deleted user] (new)

He repeated his steps, trying to focus some genuine frustration into his hit this time. It swung faster, that was for sure. His legs tensed more as well, and his pivoted on the ball of his right foot. It made a loud smack when it came into contact with Skyra's hand.
Sebastian kept his hands in fists even once he had finished the practice stunt, although he let them return to his sides. He raised an eyebrow, waiting for judgement.
