He almost killed Sabine. He provided his excuse strongly, even making a point to check on his other friend. His eyes dropped to her stomach where she had been stabbed. He imagined it had felt as horrible as getting his own demented soul touched.

Skyra didn't know that she had put her warm hand back on his arm. Whether it was to reassure him or we she didn't know. Hell, if he was trying to reassure anyone, she was more cracked then ever. Her voice broke in his mind, showing the vulnerability she was hiding. It had been my fault, my stunnornd

((Sorry dropped phone))

...stubbornness that got her stabbed. Don't give us away by simply glaring at him. It was my fault. Hearing her own voice she immediately moved away, hating that she showed weakness. He didn't care, or at least she thought. Her face was aimed down, not like her high level self as she hurried ahead of him. Her dark hair framed her face, trying to hide it.

message 154: by [deleted user] (new)

You fail to realize I'm the one who brought us here. He spoke coldly, forcing himself not to lean into her touch. The demon felt sick to his stomach, having a horrible need to plunge a few daggers into Fredrick's heart. Or at least cause him the same pain he caused his trio. But for now they needed him. Sadly.

While we are at it, we can see who can win this little pity game. She sounded disgusted and amused at the same time in his mind. How could she allow herself to be so witty at a time like this? Something about Sebastian nerves her, disturbed her regular thinking patterns. What frightened her was of he touched her, her skin would feel electric. Touch. It was something so unfamiliar in this form. Why did she react the way she does toward his own body? His host? She hated when he was near but couldn't imagine without. Im so messed up in the head.

message 156: by [deleted user] (new)

He grunted aloud in response, flashing her a quick smirk before returning his gaze ahead. He didn't want to be the first to pull his hand away, so he kept it still.
He wondered if the three of them would remain friends after the whole thing blew over. Friend seemed like a weird word, but he supposed it was true. But he had an odd feeling about what was happening. A sort of "oncoming storm" feeling. Nothing felt right, he didn't feel it would end well.

Skyra's golden hued eyes were studying Sebastian's face through her black curtain of hair. She couldn't bring herself to pull away either... And it scared her. Her heartbeat quickened and she had to look at the ground with a feigned fascination at their even strides. Her hair, feathery and whipped black, brushed Sebastian's cheek by a wind passing through them. Your worries are written on your face Sebastian. I can assure you, Sabine will not break a connection with us, she's a kindred soul. She couldn't say about herself, something was changing within her. As if she was gaining the sense of humanity and not just honor.

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Fredrick's gaze fell across all shadows until one of them coalesced into the form of a demon. In about five seconds it was screaming in agony, which happened to be the signal.
Turns out when five knives go into your limbs and stomach and a tomahawk hits your head while being hit with hellfire, it's a basic reaction for any creature ever to scream.

message 163: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Sabine had kept her gaze to the ground until she heard a scream. She whirled around to Sebastian, to see that he was fine. She turned in front again, and saw some sort of shadow demon wither away, a shocking array of weapons in it's body.
She clutched the knife to her chest, casting worried glances all around her. She hopped nothing would jump out at her.
"Um," she murmured to Skyra and Sebastian. "Are you guys all right back there?"

message 164: by tara, The Golden Heir (new)

tara wolfprism (tarawolfprism) | 1061 comments Mod
Skyras face was impassive. She felt no pity of the demon creature. She was unstable herself though she looked fine outside. Only through her fingers could Sebastian feel her heartbeat, her mind racing unsteadily. She couldn't bring herself to speak and only nodded. She was starting to pull away from Sebastian, her only comfort at the moment.

message 165: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Sabine raised an eyebrow when she saw that Skyra was holding onto Sebastian, but said nothing. She shuffled on the spot, nervously, her grip on the knife tightening. "Please tell me there arn't more of those things?" she asked Fredrick.

message 166: by [deleted user] (new)

Sebastian's eyes locked on the demon, a slight pang of sadness filling his eyes. He was one of those things. Just with a more physical form, he guessed. He waited for Fredrick's answer, looking up curiously.

Skyra looked strange as she started straight ahead. She stopped moving and stared. The energy released by the demon swirling around her, arousing the darkness in her. The blackness started to tint her eyes.

message 168: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments "Banshee. Stab it. The entire plan revolved around you stabbing the demon."
"I have a name!" Darkness announced indignantly before, in two strokes, Fredrick took out all ten of his fingers. Darkness wailed in pain when the weapons in him set ablaze and flew back to their owner, Darkness screaching all the while.

Skyra hissed as she started for the display, ready to help. She came into sight of Fredrick and Sabine. "You can do it Sabine," she whispered softly, the wind carrying her words to her friend as a gentle push.

message 170: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Realizing that this demon was Darkness, and hearing Skyra's words, Sabine raced forward, the knife in her hands. Her hart was hammering through her body, adrenaline pulsing through her veins. She was terrified out of her wits, but placed the weapon above her head, and arced it down to meet the demon's chest.

message 171: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Darkness screamed in agony again and tried to fade into shadow, but found that he could not. After his fingers slowly wove themselves out of dark energy, he reached for the knife hilt in him, but promptly lost both forearms, cut off at the joint.
"Where is Tesir?" Fredrick asked tiredly.
"So, the half-dirt comes to find me," Darkness spat. He tried to kick at his half-brother but then his feet were burned off.

message 172: by tara, The Golden Heir (new)

tara wolfprism (tarawolfprism) | 1061 comments Mod
Suspicion rose in Skyra immediately, her eyes sliding between the two. Brothers, or at least half. She understood the insult as it was spoken, not letting it slip by. So Fredrick was Darkness's brother. She turned, her broken state disappearing, and a determined one returning. Her breathing was even as she turned to connect eyes with Sebastian, relaying this information just through the look in her irises before turning back. The wind breezed past her, making her hair float softly in the wind. She took even strides to stand next to Sabine, fairly close to the evil demon injured. Yet she didn't speak a word.

message 173: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) ((Sorry! I went to the shower.))

Sabine stood feet away from the now injured demon, readying herself for whatever came. Out of the corner of her eyes, she could see Skyra beside her. She felt glade that her friend was near, but also gave her fear of something happening to her. She narrowed her sight between Fredrick and Darkness, waiting for what came next.

message 174: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments "Drake. The Golden Demon will find you. He'll kill the half-dirt, and then only Villain, who I have already beaten, will stand in my way as the greatest of Belial's sons! You will all die, the hunters will die, the angels will die, Tesir will die, in the end there will only be I!" Darkness announced.
"Well, now Tesir knows you're going to stab him in the back. He didn't tell you about his near-omnipresent awareness? He's always watching," Fredrick had no time to put up with the demon's constant vying for their father's affections. It was stupid. A fool's errand. And yet Darkness had spent his entire life trying to prove his worth to his father.
"So he's going to kill you next time he sees you. Unless we get to him first, in which case you may just live, if I don't have to torture you to death before we get his whereabouts."
"Why does he heap all of his praise on you, the half-human? Humans are made of DIRT!!! The Almighty molded them from FILTH!!!! Your mother was as significant and useful as DUST!!!! Your mother was-"
We'll never know what he was about to say, because at that moment, all of Fredrick's knives burst flaming out of their hiding spots and orbited around Darkness so close that most of them went inches deep into his flesh, spinning so fast they seemed to be discs rather than knives, hacking through his flesh like a weed-whacker. Eventually Fredrick disengaged the knives, to reveal a crippled and superheated Darkness, but only to begin hacking at him with Blacksblade, cutting off hunks of flesh, carving out arteries, weakening Darkness as only a living weapon knows how, each movement fueled by a blind fury that could be so easily turned against humanity, so easily triggered to wipe out North America, or, if he paced himself, the entire world, moving in Australia-sized chunks every three months or so. Fredrick controlled every motion. He didn't control a thing. Both statements were true as he strategically, repeatedly, fatally wounded the demon in an overwhelming fury.

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Sabine, upon seeing Fredrick's rage in all of his attacks, took a few steps back until she was inches away from Skyra’s shoulder. Now, she was officially terrified. But she refused to cower in fear. Instead, she only looked to the ground and didn’t dare to look up. She was responsible for the demons suffering, and she felt awful about it.

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments For near ten minutes, Fredrick hacked at his half-brother (is he a half-brother if one of them has no mother?) before he finally abated. Darkness was scrambling to magic himself back together, barely staying alive as his power struggled to regenerate him over the immense damage he'd taken. Finally he just ran out of power, still alive but unable to move or speak, reduced to a whimpering ghost of his former self, barely able to sustain enough power to live.
During the hack-fest, something had been knocked off of Darkness's person. It was a gun. A pistol, but with a huge opening for the shots to come out, though it didn't seem to have any ammunition in it. Fredrick and Darkness both looked at it. Then their eyes caught each other. And then it was a race. Darkness slammed his head down on top of it and tried to hold it there while Fredrick used his very gentle methods (you know, the killy ones) to try to pry it out as Darkness struggled to regrow his left arm.

Skyra let out a long annoyed sigh. Her fingers were drumming on the side of her thighs, then switching to lay in her leather jacket but alas, she didn't have one. Speaking of which, they needed to change after this. As much as she didn't want to, it wouldn't do them any good to be walking around filthy and causing suspicion.
Even strides making her way, Skyra's temper got the best of her. Growling, she kicked Darkness's head aside from the gun and snatched it up swiftly. Out of reach of both brothers.
"Interesting model." She murmured, her face flashing a grin to Sabine who looked like a frightened duckling. Poor girl.

message 191: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Fredrick pricked Darkness's neck with the tip of his sword.
"The handgun. What does it do?"
"You'll never know," Evil's least favorite son managed to croak.
"Destroy it," Fredrick ordered Skyra.
"No!"
"I'm not one to let weapons of unknown power go unchecked. Destroy it."
Darkness rasped, looking absolutely pathetic in his current state.
"You're more demon than human, brother. You'll grow into a monster worse than me, worse than Villain, worse than Lucifer himself! He fears you, Fredrick. Not because you could kill him, but because you could be his replacement. Just ask the Possessor, the one you've been torturing. Or the banshee, who you nearly killed. Perhaps the Drake, your little pawn. Remember who tried to put you on his chessboard? You've already started becoming The Devil." Strangely profound for Darkness. Insanely brilliant words from the brute.
"Who put those words in your mouth? Villain? Predator? Tesir? No, it was father, wasn't it? Always watching me, always too proud to end my life."
"You're not worth the energy it would take to kill you!" Darkness, whose main goal here was to kill Fredrick, snarled.

There was a click as the gun was aimed at both of them. A slight shift of hand to aim to either brother. "Let's find out, after all, I'm tired of being played with." Her eyes glowed powerfully, energy just begging for her to release it.
Her eyes never left the pair in front of her. "Sebastian, Sabine, behind me. Now." It was time to pull a trick.
You aren't the only one with hidden abilities.

message 193: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Fredrick could easily destroy the weapon from where he was standing, and so he launched a bolt of green lightning into it and it exploded, raining 20 globs of energy onto nearby lifeforms. A butterfly, a lizard, a squirrel, Sabine, three bees, a hawk that was diving toward a rat, said rat and its eleven pups. These twenty then convulsed, consuned with the pain of rapidly changing skeletons until they could stand again, ten feet tall, wolves, their very minds overcome by the savage monster.
"Even if your plan had worked, it still would have been stupid," Fredrick relayed to Skyra.
"You couldn't have just split the gun in half. You had to force me to use my powers, all of which can trigger explosions."
"To be fair, you did plan on using her as-" Darkness stopped talking when his throat was torn out.
"Restrain Sabine," Fredrick ordered the dragon and demon, turning toward the largest group of wolves, the ex-rats, weapons ready.

Skyra hissed and the ground beneath Fredrick heated naturally from her fiery temper. "Use me as what? Bait?" Her eyes were fastened on Darkness though she could spot where Sabine was out the corner of her eyes. She silent moved toward the poor girl, body tense, energy humming in her ears.

Sebastian stayed on edge, ready to pounce. Whether that be pouncing out of his vessel or out of the situation, he didn't know for sure. His eyes flashed to Sabine, but he did his best to keep them locked on Fredrick as he made his way towards his friend.

Skyra placed a glowing gold hand on Sabine, ceasing the pain and the tormented agony. It was quick, like a flash of pain. Knowing Sebastian was looking, she spared a glance down at her beloved friend and realized something. They were in perfect condition for her to do her trick to get them out of here. Slowly, she took Sabine's hand and then Sebastian's.

message 198: by Jasmine (last edited Aug 11, 2013 04:08AM) (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) ((Ooo. I can work with this. :) ))

Poor Sabine had no idea what had happened. At first she was just standing there and the next she was doubled over with pain. Something had struck her in the chest, and now she felt like she was burning from the inside-out. Screams rolled out of her open mouth as she slowly turned back to her banshee form. Her pale skin showed lines of black veins criss-crossing along her body. One clawed hand grasped at her chest, her nails drawing blood, while the other was held by Skyra. Her body trembled with the sheer agony.
Biting her lips to stop screaming, Sabine looked up at her friends, her eyes begging that they escape. Her sharp teeth bit down harder as another swell of pain washed down on her. Saying that she looked deranged was the understatement of the century. Dark blood now oozed from her lips and chest. Her hair was matted. And her eyes were almost black, with grey rings surrounding them.

Skyra saw the plea in her friend's eyes and nodded softly. She controlled her breathing pattern to regular even pace, affecting her heart beat as well. The wind started to pick up, swirling around all the beings in the area. Skyra's eyes never left Sabine as they turned into gold irises, rimmed by black. The wind roared even louder and with a soft grunt, she threw Sebastian and Sabine in the air. Pretty high as they can go.
With a growl, Skyra let her true form come over her. It wasn't as big as she could go, given the area. A golden slender beast was in the area now where she once stood, wings majestic as they caught her two companions. She rolled them onto her back, it narrow just enough to wrap themselves to hold on. Her eyes seemed to pierce into the brothers. She looked beautiful, magnificent, and overall dangerous.
