"The Golden Dragons are a rare elite species. Our energy is not categorized like Ice or Fire dragons. The best part is that you can't take their magic for it will upset the balance... You can control them." She said softly in the end. "Like your greatest weapon, an assassin of endless possibilities." Her body wanted to shake that she was revealing trade and sacred secrets. "If you find a way to take hold of a Golden Dragon, they obey without question. They will do anything and everything their master says." She closed her eyes. "Their presence adds natural strength to them. I'm sure you heard of Merlin?"

message 102: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments "The Dragon Lord," Fredrick acknowledged. "How could Tesir bind you, and could he, possibly, bind all of you, forming an army of your kind?" Greatest weapon, endless possibilities. That used to be his species. But who had made this one?

tara wolfprism (tarawolfprism) | 1061 comments Mod
"He can't bind more then one. He needs to have the highest ranking soul he can get for the most power. If that dragon produces offspring, they are automatically his." Skyra was not shaking, trying to keep her voice steady. "It's different to bind each dragon. I don't know how they do it." She looked at Sabine helplessly. Will he believe her truth? "I don't know." Her voice broke as she stared at her bleeding friend, she could feel herself breaking.

message 104: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Fredrick nodded, frying the ants off of his hands and pulling a potion from a barrel full of them, placing a single drop on his left hand before setting down the container and rubbing his hands together, the burning green fluid healing the stings. He put on his gloves, picked the potion back up, and poured it down Sabine's throat. The cut sealed, all damaged organs were fixed to a point in which they're actually better now than they were before she was cut, and even her blood cells were rapidly replaced.
"We need to find Darkness."

message 105: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Sabine only stayed half awake during Fredrick’s interrogation. She only heard certain things - naturally, though; she heard about the fact that Skyra was royalty, and Sebastian’s concern for her (which she will tease him about later) – but still felt very confused. What was happening? What does Fredrick want with them? Why was everything so cold and felt numb? The banshee didn’t know. She was just tired of it all. No longer was she able to fight. All she wanted to do was drift away...
Suddenly she felt someone force liquid in her already open mouth. Oh no, she thought as she had no choice but to swallow the foul tasting liquid, it’s poison. It’s most defiantly poison. Well, if it was indeed poison, she would recommend it to any ill man or woman. For she suddenly felt better. Her wound healed completely, and her eyes lit up once more. She blinked a few times, trying to make the black dots clouding her vision disappear. Then; “We need to find Darkness.”
“Why?” she asked. From what she heard, this Darkness guy didn’t sound like a large concern. And more importantly, she thought to herself, is he another wacko who will try to kill us?

message 106: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments "He's in league with Tesir. The dust will wear off in about thirty minutes, and then I can fry the dragons that are suspending you. Would anyone like to develop an immunity to fire ant venom? It'll only take about six months." Fredrick pointed his thumb towards the crate of fire ants, not seeing how anyone could turn that down.

message 107: by [deleted user] (new)

Sebastian, realizing his life wasn't exactly in danger anymore, frowned slightly when Fredrick mentioned the dragons fate.
"Could I perhaps keep the dragons? Rather than have them incinerated, of course." He offered, but then recoiled slightly. "Unless they aren't tamed. Or at least tamed well." Sebastian always fancied supernatural creatures, and down in Hell he had quite a few, though his Hell Hounds were the only ones he brought up. But those mongrels weren't very dog-like, or at least by human standards. Plus they didn't have any really cool attributes, except becoming invisible and being able to tear humans apart bit by bit to drag them into Hell. But dragons were cooler.

Skyra glared at Sebastian and then Fredrick. "Men. Unbelievable." She glanced at Sabine to see if the girl was okay. She certainly hope so. Her gaze slid back to Frederick. "Let me down." The shakiness was gone now.

message 111: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments "I told you, the golden dust that makes them explode when magic operates too close to them hasn't worn off yet. I let them out of the jar with a mission, that's the problem with these things. One use per dragon, which does not include stopping the mission. Left on their own, those dragons will keep you bound up like that for two thousand years before they finally decay into shreds of negative energy. Once the gold dust wears off, I can incinerate them. Be ready to catch yourself. It might've worn off already, but since all of our lives depend upon that bet, I think we should wait about ten minutes. No reason to rush. I could put some fire ants along your arm, if you want to do something constructive while you're bound up." Fredrick is a very results-based person, believing that moments of achieving nothing are moments wasted, which is their definition, so not a very big leap.

message 112: by Jasmine (last edited Aug 06, 2013 08:54AM) (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) “No thank you,” Sabine said to Fredrick. “Being stabbed was quite enough. And you,” she then turned to Skyra. “Let me make this clear. I will not – I repeat, I will not - call you Princess, Your Majesty, Your Royal Highness, or My Lady. I won’t bow, I won’t put my jacket on top of a puddle so your feet don't get wet, and I refuse to act any bit lady-like around you or any member of your court. But I will make the exception on calling you ‘Your Royal Hiney’ on your birthday and at Christmas, just because I'm really generous.”
This just clarified that yes, Sabine was perfectly normal again.

Skyra wasn't in a good mood and though she originally didn't want to snap at Sabine, the girls comments brought her to it. "Let me make this clear," her voice was cold. Sharp even that the only one who wouldn't flinch would be the demon. "I didn't want to come here. I didn't want anyone to know what I was." Her eyes fastened on Sebastian and then mercilessly slid to Sabine. "I don't take pride in what I am. I'm a killer with a temper so I suggest you don't push it banshee." Skyra eyes seemed to be lit my an invisible fire. "I don't want to be called anything but my name as I was born. Call me anything else and I won't be afraid to knock my name into your head." It was clear. Skyra was very very pissed right now that the darkness in her was enough to call Sebastian's attention.

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) ((JEEZ LOUIS! That's a temper.))

Sabine recoiled, as if she were burnt. Well, in a way, she was. But she wouldn’t take her friends coldness likely. Skyra was the one who taught her snark, and she took it upon herself to use it. So, she head up her head and said, “Fine, dragon. Although it humours me that you think I wouldn’t knock my own name into yours.”

message 116: by tara, The Golden Heir (new)

tara wolfprism (tarawolfprism) | 1061 comments Mod
"Oh I know it banshee, no need to scream." Skyra had a cruel look in her eyes. Her face remained impassive but her eyes didn't leave the girl's face. Skyra could be this dangerous leak all day but with every second that dark thoughts passed in her mind, so was her being. Everyone would soon be in danger if someone didn't snap her out of this dark reverie.

message 117: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Fredrick stepped up to Skyra and threw 20 ants into her face.
"Snap out of it and grow some self-control," Fredrick told her. "That's the real lesson here. Take the pain, put it up inside you and learn to restrain your emotions to the point of not accidentally wiping out a medium-sized continent," Fredrick used to have that sort of issue.

message 118: by [deleted user] (new)

((OH MY GOD FREDRICK I JUST LAUGHED OUT LOUD THAT'S GREAT))

Sebastian had an outburst of laughter at Fredrick's actions, before turning to face both his friends. "I agree with him. You're both pretty; now shut up." He said harshly, wiggling in the dragons grips slightly. His skin was rubbed raw on the places they held him from his struggle once Sabine was injured. He blew out a sigh before yawning, trying to swing his feet back and forth but failing.

Skyra's temper cooled down and so did her body... Only after she shook them all of her face. Her wrists were bleeding gold blood but there was no pain featured. If she felt anything, she was good at hiding it. "Sorry to say I can't return a compliment." She snarled at Sebastian before cooly looking at Fredrick. "You are a major arse, you know that?" She would have gone on but the gold dust finally wore off her dragon and she fell to the floor... Hard. She stood up and brushed herself off, avoiding contact with her bleeding wrists.

message 124: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Sabine couldn't help but give out a snort at her comrades epic fall. She was always the sort to laugh when someone has fallen, then help, and then, on the rare occasion, laugh again. It depended on how funny the actual fall was.
She looked at her own dragons and saw them uncoil themselves away from her. Once they did, she landed on the ground on her feet. She quickly went to Skyra's side, asking, "All you all right?" despite how rude she was earlier on. Especially with that one comment; Oh I know it banshee, no need to scream. That hurt in particular.

Skyra flinched away from Sabine's touch to glare at all of them. It was cool and collected. "I have to say, I came up with a perfect plan." She paced around Fredrick so that she stood in a place that completed a square formation of all of them. "You three go find this Darkness and do whatever actions to save this pathetic attempt of a safe haven while I go home to a place that is probably full of hunters right now to save my people."
Sabine had been perfectly clear that royalty didn't belong here, unless she misinterpreted it... No she had to be right. She felt the anger. She turned and started away, the closest distance to Sebastian.

message 126: by Kendra (last edited Aug 06, 2013 02:09PM) (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments "Wow. That is the worst perfect plan that I have ever heard," Fredrick has a talent for sarcasm because I happen to hate typing something that doesn't have enough sarcasm in it.
"You, the target, the easiest one to turn to Tesir's puppet, go out, alone, against an army of easily possess-able-by-Tesir humans, alone, while three of us go out to defeat Darkness in order to learn the location of Tesir, a mission in which the Possessor and banshee will just get in the way. I have, in the past, thrown Darkness around like a sack of peas. There's no reason to endanger you, no reason to send 3/4ths of us out to do what one of us can, and above all, no reason to take on the Hunters. They're going up against golden dragons, and if what you say is true, they're living weapons. We can let that well enough alone, they're destined to fail."

tara wolfprism (tarawolfprism) | 1061 comments Mod
"There aren't many of us," Skyra snapped. "We know we must sacrifice ourselves for the greater good!" Her eyes were passionate, "I'm going." It was clear she had to be stopped, but not too gently or harsh. She had a purpose in her stride.

message 128: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments "This won't help anyone. This is a needless sacrifice. If it's not, what difference does one soldier make? Our fight is with Tesir, warrior, because he is the one that possessed Supernaturals to kill the Hunters' loved ones and start this whole conflict, and he will just start over if we focus on the Hunters. How do you kill a weed, Drake?" Fredrick closed the mini-abyss that had been their entrance, trapping Skyra until she came to her senses. "You uproot it, and the rest of it dies. You take out its beginning, and the rest shrivels up. Besides, if your race is exterminated, Tesir won't be able to capture any of them."
Before she could fly off the handle at this, he added, "which is why he will not let the Hunters find them. He's figured out what you ard, and he want s to take the Queen and control all of you. Bur if he takes you, then he can kill the Queen and same result."
It was a brilliant plan, the kind he himself would have concocted. That's how he was certain that Tesir had the same ideas, because he was hiding in the banshee's mind, hearing everything. Perfect.
Your move, goldie.

message 129: by tara, The Golden Heir (new)

tara wolfprism (tarawolfprism) | 1061 comments Mod
Skyra froze, her eyes staring at the entrance. There was a great sin that she held in. To kill a fellow Drake is to take their power as your own. How could Tesir know that having a royal is the same as having the whole race? Thoughts flew through her private mind.
Pushing them out at last, she turned slowly, her features were expressionless. "Is your plan to make us wait here while you go of to defeat this Darkness figure?" She strides toward him, glaring all the wag near his height, for she was fairly tall. There was something in the darkness that made her a attractive figure. Her being seemed to be accented with a gold hue. She truly was a royal.

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments ((Ummm... I'm going to take a wild guess and say that he knew that control over the one who's in charge makes him the big boss.))
"Leave that demon in here? His curious fingers would activate the thread of death that would wipe out anyone in a thirty mile radius. No, I'm not letting Tesir's target," he nodded towards Skyra, "or the curious little Possessor, out of my sight. As for the banshee.... Why did you bring her?" he'd never gotten an answer on that purpose thing.

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) “I’m part alarm clock, part distraction-est – and I tell them when their plans are just plain idiotic,” declared Sabine when nether Skyra and Sebastian didn’t answer the question. “And trust me; what you need is to corner Darkness. If you do, he’ll be less likely to be able to attack. No matter how good you are, one against four is never good odds. The more of us go, the quicker and easier it is to take him down.”

Skyra hadn't said anything since she was glaring at Fredrick for the stupidity of his question. It would have been comical. I'm not going to be kept under lock and key.

Someone has to stab him with this after I disable him." Fredrick reached into a crate, casually sidestepped a gout of fire that came from the crate, and took out an obsidian knife, which would trap Darkness in physical form as long as Fredrick could keep him from clawing the knife out, so... indefinitely.

Skyra's ideas were dark and merciless. "Easy," she said in a murderous tone. "Cut off his hands and tie his feet, then stab him." Her eyes were cold but her face smooth and impassive. She needed to do something. Anything as long as it gets her closer to her mother.

message 137: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments "He regenerates, I'd have to keep hacking off his limbs while someone else stabbed him and held it in. I'm not letting you too close to Tesir's agent, the Possessor or banshee can do it." Fredrick held it hilt-first toward them for either one to take.

"You aren't letting me." She mocked his voice. Skyra turned around slowly, her eyes narrowed into slits, which where a big sign she disagreed. Her arms where still crossed in front of her chest, giving off the appearance of a leather clothed teenager with a serious attitude problem... if you ignore the fact it looked like she was about to throw some fire or whatever you can possibly imagine substance around the room.
Her mind whirled. What do you have in plan for me then Fredrick? She wasn't sure if the man had the ability to read minds. It was a nice trick to see. Sebastian was well to hide his and he's only a demon.

Sabine sighed and took the hilt of the knife Fredrick held out. It was heavier then expected, but she could manage. "Will you stop fighting?" she said, her eyes bouncing between Fredrick and Skyra. Skyra rolled her eyes, looking normal like the girl who befriended Sabine back at the dorm. When none of this was truly on their heads and choices didn't seem to have consequences no matter the situation. How did everything change so fast? From safe to dangerous?
Skyra held her hands up to Sabine, a sign she would stop. She started toward them, getting out of the trains way like Fredrick said but there was something bout the way he was staring at her like he had dark plans in mind. Did he not think she would catch this look of his? She felt conflicted inside about her own motives, her mind tired.
Glancing at Sebastian, she smirked, "Why so silent Bast?
Taunting him made her feel a bit better. Hey, she said she wouldn't argue with Fredrick, not stop baiting Sebastian.

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments The mini-abyss reopened and Fredrick led them out of it, cautioning them to stay a fair bit behind him. Darkness was after him, and he was using himself as bait.
"Stay a fair bit behind me, the demon will scream in pain and that will be your signal to keep up."

Jasmine (jasminethetallirishflower) Sabine looked at the knife in her hands. She didn’t want to kill anybody, but what choice did any of them have? She looked up at Skyra, glade to see she was more like herself, and then looked to Sebastian, who did seem quiet. She hoped her two friends were indeed OK.
The banshee walked towards the abyss, taking cautious steps. It didn’t look safe, and she didn’t trust Fredrick one bit. So far, he had only used people for his own needs and wishes. She did as she was told, though, and kept a respectful distance from the man.

Sebastian remained silent the entire argument, but retained his signature scowl. That was Sebastian's trademark; he either sported a scowl or a wicked grin.
During their argument, he looked rather focused. His arms were crossed, his brown eyes dark with unbridled attention. He would raise an eyebrow at some points, or perhaps frown deeper at others. Nonetheless, he didn't seem to be enjoying the current situation at all.
When Fredrick mentioned Sebastian being the alarm, he felt his stomach drop a bit. He was tired of being the torture device. He noticed Sabine glanced back at him, and he glared at her out of instinct.
He moved though, taking ginger steps, afraid the floor would fall out underneath him, and also anticipating unbearable pain any second.

Skyra intentionally was side by him, taking equally measured steps, her eyes wary and full of caution. She gave a quick reassuring smile to Sabine. Then she did something that she would have never done if not given the situation. She didn't trust Fredrick at all, and could you blame her? After all with the gutting Sabine and throwing ants at herself, he was as reckless as her, and ruthless as well. Caution was to be present.
Her surprising action was taking Sebastian by the arm lightly, her naturally warm touch clashing with his cold skin. She didn't have the energy to form a private conversation with just Sebastian without touching him. Especially since she didn't know the extent of Fredrick's powers.
Act natural. Skyra reassured, not wanting to surprise him and give herself away. Why do I feel as if pieces are falling to place instead of us changing the plan to our advantage? Fredrick is no doubt using himself as bait as the moment but I can't tell whether it's been set up or he's actually willing to help a bunch of "kids" that he keeps telling us we are.
On the outside, Skyra appeared to be breathing normal, if not slightly quicker. That way, if one were to look at her, she was looking to the demon for comfort. Very unlikely but everyone cracks and she did enough of that tonight that it wouldn't be dubbed strange if she did one more mysterious action.

He had flinched at her warm touch, as it felt as though he had been lightly burned. He felt oddly comforted by it, and his brown eyes flashed towards her momentarily. They looked tired.
I can't exactly see an easy way where we can flip this so we're on top. It's kill or be killed at the moment, I say we just go with it until something good or bad happens. His words matched the tone of his eyes, and with his free arm he ran it over his face slowly.
I'm just sick of all of this. The last part came in a whisper, more to himself than to Skyra. But he walked firmly, giving nothing away. His eyes did seem to burn into Fredrick's back slightly, but that would be expected after watching his friends get tortured. Maybe not from a demon, though.
Sebastian felt oddly guilty after revealing his last thought. He shouldn't be sick of it. He at least shouldn't admit to being sick of it.

I know how you feel Sebastian. Her voice sounded tired and helpless. With being paranoid, none of them had had the proper mind or rest needed for one and she to be truthful hated the feeling. She could feel a stronger connection to Sebastian's temper and once again she matched his pace and bumped shoulders with him slightly. Stop glaring.
