Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Fredrick advanced, with a slow, cautious stride that exuded a deadliness that everyone knew he had, his mismatched eyes scanning the magical and physical world with a keen and focused gaze, not missing a detail.
((Where did her pendent go?))
He reached them and stood before them, releasing Seb's soul.
He knew he would regret it later, but he released it anyway.
"Ever hear the term, 'do not destroy what you wish to take?' Tesir wants your entire race, and the Queen, your mother, is surrounded by her people, who will fight him, and besides, he doesn't know where they are exactly. He does not know of the existence of the spillover energy from the Resurrection that created the New Dimension, where I'm guessing your kind live, I could never find a way there. So YOU ARE HIS TARGET. You are the only one of us who can lead him to your people, and if you go there, he will have no choice but to attack. Your people will be slaughtered, for if Tesir cannot capture you, he will kill all of you, for you are great threats. He has no idea what you are capable of, weapon, and therefore cannot afford to let you live. Sorry, but your choices are death for you and your people, captivity to Tesir, or Tesir's death. You don't strike me as an idiot, drake, and so I know you will settle for the lesser of two evils and trust me to have Tesir as my enemy, and not you. I wouldn't trust me to do much, but with a common enemy, I can be the best chance you have. Also, if you flee to your world, I will follow you and kill your entire race to keep them from becoming Tesir's soldiers. Do we have a deal?"
He was not accepting questions. He was not accepting negotiations. And everyone knew that he made good on his threats.

It's death or becoming a slave to one of them in simpler terms. Sure, Fredrick wasn't after we gifts, but blackmailing her was just the same in her mind. With a word, Skyra had sealed her fate, "Deal." Her voice was strong for she had put all her energy into it then repairing her weak state. Still, there was one last chance to save Sabine and even Sebastian. "As partners," she sneered, looking up, "I want them in a safe place so I can focus. I'll give you my word that I won't do anything foolish when they are." It was clear her word meant her honor and that she would never break it. Skyra valued that virtue, or perhaps vice, of herself. She closed her heavy eyes, not making eye contact with Fredrick or Sabine.

"I can make the Possessor a form, if that would help anything," Fredrick looked up at Seb and dipped his hand into the Possessor's soul to hear Seb's specifications.
AKA, he shoved his hand down a guy's soul so that he could figure out what he wants his form to look like.
It could go wrong, it could work perfectly.
((Which one dost thou wanteth?))

Sebastian was having a rough night, one could say. He was very drained and tired, his little cloud of smoke that held the shattered pieces of his soul had thinned out to a slight fog, a small red orb glowing in the middle of the patch. It was easier to see now.
Finally. A new host.
Red hair please. I like carrot-tops. Brown eyes are cool, but I also like blue, so you can pick. And then as long as I'm taller than Skyra, I'm cool. Oh, I'd also like washboard abs. He finished off his thoughts, smiling inwardly. It was a neat experience to be able to basically design your vessel.

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments ((Okay, so do you want it to work or fry?))
Fredrick let go of Sebastian's soul and tried to recall his father's notes on creating a Lesser Demon form.
True, a Nephilim had never made one, but...
He began spinning energy out of his fingers, first making the base out of burning green energy. He glanced at Skyra, discerning her height. Five inches should give me more room for error, he decided.
He'd tried this, once, to make a test dummy so that he could practice using his weapons on an actual human body, but the vessel had fallen apart with no consciousness and so now Fredrick used cowhides and criminals for that sort of thing (yes, he kills criminals to practice killing demons. That's what makes him awesome). He started from the face down, and didn't really care about Sebastian's eye color, so he made his left eye blue and his right eye brown. He figured he'd make the blue eye magic-world sensitive, so that Sebastian could monitor both sides of the supernatural spectrum at all times, like Fredrick did (it was supposed to be nice, but it will be a tough adaptation). He had never heard the phrase 'washboard abs' before in his life, so he just stylized them so that Seb could easily leap or roll to his feet with them, which would be very useful, considering the (lack of) fighting style the Possessor had. He threw a burning green robe over it once he was done with everything and tossed Seb into his new form.
"Okay, that thing's fueled and automatically healed by your magic now, so don't expend too much or it may fry from either carrying too much charge or just running out of power."
His father called demons like Seb (created after time rather than before) Lessers. Lessers called themselves "Young Demons" and most people called them that, too, after they were done becoming a huge army. Lessers were mainly made up of Possessors like Seb, who was suddenly not possessing.
Possessors are the most common because they're the easiest to make. Rather than fashioning a vessel and a soul, a demon need only create a soul. The consequence being that much of the soul's power was lost without a form to keep it in line, to the point that many Possessors combined just to keep enough power to stay alive (like Legion). Those taken over by more than one Possessor obtained something like multiple-invading-personality-disorder while the chaotic Possessors fought for control of the host, resulting in magic pouring from the human to the point that his body was escalated to superhuman levels before he inevitably burned from all the power being channeled inside of him. Modern-made Possessors do that less frequently, which is why they're tougher to spot if you can't see the magic spectrum.
Oh yeah, Fredrick didn't forget the red hair, but Seb won't like his haircut. It's really short so that no one can grab him by the hair in a fight or scalp him after putting him down (or not, scalping while he's still alive is a form of torture).

Sebastian smiled after being stuck into the still-warm body. He patted his hands all over himself, but when he opened his eyes he stumbled backwards. "Holy shit! Dude, you're making me trip balls!" Sebastian himself had never tried acid, but he assumed this is what it would look like if he did. "Jesus, is this the weird vision that lets me see powers or whatever?" He asked, stabilizing himself before running a hand through his hair. It dropped short, and he frowned. "Man! C'mon, Freddie, you should be better at this!" He moaned, his hand falling flat to his sides. He wasn't digging the robe, either. He'd have to go steal some new clothes, and probably get a new haircut. Maybe a mohawk. He probably wouldn't be allowed to get one, anyways, with his three new "partners" nagging on him all the time.

Skyra finally opened her eyes to take in Sebastian, new body and all. First thing she noticed? He was not even the same height as her, but taller! Over six feet! Of course, her face showed her drainage and not the shock she was feeling inside.
What really attracted her attention was the eyes. Before, she had only seen them as the poor hosts imprisonment. Now, they seemed his one. She couldn't understand what abilities Fredrick gave, her hearing only just awakening. Her body shivered from the chill of the wind. Slips sometimes just sucked.

message 261: by [deleted user] (new)

Sebastian took a step towards Skyra. "You alright?" He asked, shoving his shiny new hands into the two pockets of the robe. He was developing a headache- or something similar to that- near his left temple. It happened to be the same side the blue eye was on.

Skyra opened her mouth to speak but couldn't bare to speak any words. She had to conserve her energy for her body instead. Therefore, her lips closed, a dark red as she started to stand, her legs screaming in pain. Hair fell forward to hide her face, benefit since she felt like cringing. Her breathing was slightly labored as she brought herself up.
Her mind was on a different matter though. If it weren't for her, they wouldn't be in a bigger mess then they started. She couldn't bring herself to look into Sabine's eyes, Skyra didn't want to show how guilty she felt for dragging the one true friend she had into this. Skyra made her eyes look into a pair of enthralling ones instead, as eclectic as can be. Skyra couldn't read the emotions of the demon but her head registered something else. She was about to fall. In such a mundane matter, her feet tripped and her splayed hands met Sebastian's firm chest. Heat radiated through the soft robe and she felt it running through her cheeks as well. He was so tall. Stupid power plays, now she would have to look him up in the eye.
She felt confused what to do. It wasn't like she wanted to depend on him to be her support, to be in that position but why was the alternative? Fall? Have Fredrick help?
It would only be a little while, Skyra had to reason, seeing the glow of life in her hands again. Or perhaps it was the flattering free slip on her bringing out her skin color.

((Helen anytime now XD))

((*silently waits for an awesome confrontation scene from adorable Sabine*))

Sebastian had almost taken a step backwards to avoid Skyra from falling onto himself, but instead his hands went and gripped her shoulders to steady her as she leaned on him. Concern radiated from his single brown eye as he shifted her to his side, wrapping an arm around her. He attempted to look nonchalant as he eyed Sabine for her next move.

message 264: by tara, The Golden Heir (new)

tara wolfprism (tarawolfprism) | 1061 comments Mod
Skyra's angled head hid the soft breaths, quick and shallow. Her way of dealing with pain. "Thank, you." The words came out as a whisper but it was enough to express her rare gratitude. She let herself lean, let the energy finally flow from the core of her being to her legs. Sebastian's arm around her waist was the only thing keeping her uptight. Another thing she noticed, he was stronger too.
Finally, she brought her eyes up to Sabine, letting the concern for her friend an the guilt on her face pass for a laconic moment. "Forgive me." She wasn't sure it was loud enough to e carried along but it was the only effort.

message 265: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments Fredrick could immediately tell that Skyra would be worth nothing in a fight in her current state, and he'd just burned a lot of power creating a working body, as well. He yanked some camping equipment out of a mini-abyss, along with some clothes more suitable for fighting (sorry they're all his size, apparently slightly larger than the girls (how tall is Sabine?) and slightly smaller than Seb) for the others, himself constantly wearing battle-ready clothing (or something not at all suitable for a fight, but we'll get to that later). He began pitching a tent, explaining to Seb about the 'mismatched eyes' thing. "You'll get used to seeing the world like that in a bout a week. Until then, close one eye when examining, depending on what plane of existence it resides on, until you can constantly perceive both streams of information. When you're trying to blend in with humans, I recommend an illusion over one eye or an eye-patch over your magic eye. Skyra, I think we should develop a less I-torture-my-allies system of finding information. You ask a question, I answer it and ask you a question. You answer it and then we repeat. You go first." He was, at this time, inserting the sticks into the tent flaps, silently willing no one to help him (it would disrupt him), figuring one of them, probably the banshee, would try to justify the oxygen they were taking by contributing something.

How about when you became a asshole? Skyra allowed the snippy question run trough her mind before saying aloud, soft, "what are we gonna do?" Skyra hated how he sounded. She was the leader, but it would be nice to know her "ally"'s motives. Skyra didn't move from Sebastian's side, her legs gaining strength every minute.

message 267: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments "You're going to have to be more specific than that," Fredrick responded, finishing the first tent for two and beginning on the second.
"Today, you and I regenerate the huge amounts of magic we expended. Tomorrow, we break camp and invade the Abyss to discover when the demons will be prepared to take an attack from the angels, and that will be our deadline. Then we have to find Tesir and kill him."
He proceded to ask his own question, propping the second tent up.
"How much do your people know about the dimensions?"

Skyra answered truthfully, "My mother and her counsel knows. I was to learn about it as well. Or at least awaken the knowledge from my soul. Sabine had just about to pounce out and lash at the dragon, when all of a sudden Skyra shoved her off her back. True, she tried to be careful, but the banshee still slid off unelegantly and still landed right on her face. She lid there, too enraged about the fact that her face was on the dusty ground to notice that everything carried on without her.
But then a silly fly buzzed near her ear, and she soon started to chase it like a wild animal, growling and hissing at the small black dot of a bug. Skyra felt too light headed to do any good. Her head turned into Sebastian's chest once she realized that communicating with Sabine wasn't possible at the moment. Skyra took in all the warmth, trying to find a way to transfer it to her chilled drained body. Her eyes lay on the tent and she immediately started for but stumbled back.

Sebastian watched his dear friend Sabine with slight curiosity. For a moment she reminded him of one of his hell hounds, though instead of chasing flies viciously it was normally human souls.
He kept a close eye on Fredrick and Skyra's exchanges, only nodding slowly when the man explained his eye situation. At the moment he didn't care to put up the illusion, but he found it tiring and frustrating having to close his blue eye most of the time. Eventually he resorted to using his free hand to just cover it up for the moment, other arm still wrapped around Skyra.

Skyra whispered near Sebastian's ear, her breath slightly warm, "When I can, I'll find a way to lessen the irritation." She knew having new sighs to adapt to could be difficult and the fact that he was hiding her was fair enough for her to help him in return. "I need to get into the tent soon, sleep this stupid weakness off quickly."
The flight had taken a lot out of her with the rough transformation.
"Fredrick," her returning cold glare shined on him. "My turn, what's your past with Tesir? Detail please."

message 286: by [deleted user] (new)

Sebastian stiffened a bit at her words, before rolling his eyes at her offer in a teasing manner. Sebastian wasn't one for others helping him, but he huffed a content sigh of appreciation. He did, however, look up at her next questions, eyes bright with curiosity similar to a young puppy's.
"Yeah, what was the deal with you two?" He echoed, inclining his head.

message 287: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments "I have no past with him. Remember, Sebastian, when I could not give you a description? The reason I'm fighting him is that if I don't fight, my inner demon grows restless. If I fail to satisfy my bloodlust, it will become strong enough to take me over and go on an indiscriminate murderous rampage. You don't have that, Sebastian, because you are only one species, whereas I a a crossbreed betwwen a human female and a demon. Those two species were cursed to be at odds at all times until one of rhem was eliminated, so I suppose you could say that Tesir's a distraction to keep me from annihilating North America." He said this coolly, a simple statement of fact, answering the question that they meant, not just what they said, because he hated trifling with technicalities.
"If Tesir were to enslave your race, what army could he face with it? Bear in mind that you previously believed that a large enough band of Hunters could pose a threat." He did not move from his position pinning Sabine down, continuing to send her calming thoughts.

Skyra knew the power each of the few golden dragons held. "Having us under control can eliminate many sorts, in many different ways." She scanned him up and down, "Even you, but I suppose you aren't to hot headed to believe you are invincible against my kind."

message 289: by Kendra (new)

Kendra (madamejade) | 1693 comments "You didn't answer my question. What can your army do? How big of stakes are we playing with here?"
Despite the reasons he gave, he certainly did not want Tesir to gain an army that would let him take on Lucifer. If Tesir took command of the demons, his first move would be to eliminate Lucifer's most loyal General, who also happened to have great influence and magical prowess, a.k.a Fredrick's father.

"Okay first, you can't take on heaven because in heaven there's Someone who can unmake all existence and then remake it infinite times with a thought there. Second, Hell exists purely as a holding cell until its prisoners can be moved to the Lake; there's nothing to fight but tormented souls that won't fight back. Or, if you mean 'Lucifer and his followers' by hell, let me tell you right now, one of his assets is a spear with enough power to create a thousand worlds like yours over and over again till the end of time, along with Ba'al, who could have torn you to bits in the amount of time it took for you to explain how superior your people are, as well as the demon that has discovered ninety percent of all magic spells ever, has mastered enough strategy to outthink Tecumseh, Hannibal, Julius Caeser, Little Turtle, Crazy Horse, Napoleon, and pretty much every other successful general combined. If a good night's sleep doesn't cure her homicidal rage, we'll have to leave her, he decided to himself before to climbed into the other tent, laid down, set his mental alarm clock for two hours (that's how long he sleeps, it turns out only an hour and a half of an eight-hour sleep is the part you actually need, while the rest lets you grow and stuff. Since he's done growing, he now ONLY gets the kind of sleep he actually needs. He actually gets a half-hour more real sleep than most people. Skyra lifted her face as she began to walk, trudging slowly. She gripped onto Sebastian rather tightly. Once they entered the tent, everything went limp. She fell into the make shift bed and looked up at Sebastian. Her smile didn't reach her eyes.

message 300: by [deleted user] (new)

The place was nicely furnished. For a tent. Sebastian didn't smile back at Skyra, though. Instead he narrowed his eyes at her, before speaking.
"I hope you get better soon." It was said more as a statement than a suggestion. He retreated to his side of the tent, collapsing onto the air mattress in a rather comical matter.
Demons didn't exactly need to sleep, and Seb still had to fix his wardrobe matter and his hair. But he simply didn't have the energy to complete a full-frontal teleportation series at the moment. For the time being, using the extremely human-method of sleep really appealed to him. His splitting headache only helped sway him.
"'Night." He muttered, eyes already closed shut as he lay on his stomach, the blankets sloppily covering the small of his back, allowing his bare feet to feel the chill of the Tunnel's drifts of wind.
