Hi Wanda. This unfortunately seems to be a recurring problem with goodreads lately. I would recommend you ask the goodreads feedback group as it is an issue with the page.

No Catarina, you don't have to read anything in this group, you just read exactly what you want to read :) If you want to participate in a group read you do, but it's not a requirement at all!

I'm not quite sure what you mean Martha. Did you set a goal? Do you have your own topic, or could you tell me where you updated? :)

I have a a goal of 60 (or maybe 70??) books in the 50-100 books challenge. I had set that goal earlier this month. So, I wanted to post an update as to my reading so far. I found (with much difficulty!) my original post of my goal and then updated it with my progress. I think this might be wrong. I did this earlier today. I cannot figure out how to explain better then this. I am very new at all of this and appreciate your help!

I think you do it perfectly! There's no rules on how to update, we do it a little bit different all of us :) I admire you for reading so much Joyce t once! I read an Artist last year, and it's enough Joyce to last me a while I feel :)

Hi Rachel, this is a known issue with Goodreads. Unfortunately, I don't think there has been much resolution from them yet. I would advise posting in the Goodreads Feedback group or emailing support@goodreads.com. Sorry we can't help more with this!

I think that depends on your computer? Personally I click on a star and it turns yellow and I click on my map for reading. Goodreads in itself doesn't have a bookmarking feature so you have to do it through your computer..

Yup, bookmarking is a browser feature. If you let us know what browser you're using (Internet Explorer, Chrome, etc.) we might be able to help more. :)

Hello. New to the forums, apologies if this should go elsewhere. Due to the release of Brandon Sandersons final Reckoners volume, Calamity, I have decided to reread the series. Just finished the first book but I can't get it to count towards my reading goal. The only thing I can think is that I finished it June last year (towards my 2015 challenge), is there a time limit (or a read limit) to the books?

Hi Dan!

Welcome to our group! For a book to count towards your challenge it needs to have a "date read" in 2016. Since you read it in 2015 it is likely the date read is there. We have just have a discussion about what to do when you re-read books, I will find it and link it for you when I get on my computer later. I think you can use a new edition to have it count.

Would have been neat, but when I learned to place my bookmarks in folders it worked well enough :) I also have a link in my Personal Challenge thread to my Corner.

Hi! Just feeling new here and am just a little confused with information overload :-) I made a topic in the 101+ Discussion (Rebecca's 200 Books in 2016) and I made a topic in the 2016 Member Corners (Rebecca's 2016 Reading Corner). My question is, do I keep a copy of my 200 Books in 2016 in my Corner and that topic also and update in both places? Or can I just keep it in my Corner and update it there? I also want to set up a Listopia list. Would I also duplicate that in the Listopia Discussion and in my Corner? Then, we do a new topic in each place when we update and update the original topic? I just want to make sure I understand because there seems to be a lot of duplication. Thanks in advance for your help :-)

Let me see if I can answer all of your questions.

You can keep track of your books in either your "200 Books" or your "Reading Corner" it is really up to you. I would suggest look at how others keep track, and decide what is best for you. I personally like to keep a list of my books and reviews in my "52 Books" discussion and keep track of my challenges in my Member's corner.
My Reading Corner has a link to my challenge log if you would like to see.

You are welcome to set up a Listopia list and share it in your corner. You can also add it to the "Let's Chat" folder as well.

As for updating, again, I would suggest looking at how others do it and find a way that works for you. I am running some of the yearly challenges this year, and as a Moderator and a participant, I find that posting a monthly update with the original message number and number of books complete works best.
Ex: Update message 55, 10/26 completed.

Nadine, do you usually read in English, French or Arabic? (I noticed you are from Morocco).
I would suggest some books related to the things related to the genres you mentioned in your profile. Try The Hunger Games, another book you might like is The Butterfly Mosque: A Young American Woman's Journey to Love and Islam, or our recent group read, I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban. Also, I truly believe you can never go wrong with anything by Jane Austen.

Is there any way to have the second (or more) reading of the same book count toward the yearly reading challenge. I love some books enough to read them again, but hesitate since they don't count. If there isn't there should be since I'm probably not the only one who wants this.

Goodreads has been working on a re-read feature for quite some time, but I don't think there have been any recent updates on that.

I know some other members have had success with adding a separate edition of the book, and setting a new date read. You'll have to be careful not to remove the duplicate, though.
