Okay, thanks!
Okay, thanks!

Not only that are there challenges that this group is doing or going to do because I need something to do?

Let me know if you have any specific questions about any of those things.

Winter

I have revive what you send me I guess that I didn't read it through the list sorry for any trouble

I bookmark mine. I know I am not a mod but came to ask a question of my own figured could help.
do the challenge ideas that we come up with have to always fit one of the themes?

I bookmark mine. I know..."
Blagica, I wondered that too, and when I saw the theme for December 2015 was presents, I went Ugh. I don't celebrate Christmas or Hanukkah, and I know we have a few other Muslim members. At first glance, if felt like all the non Judaeo-Christians were being left out.
Then I thought, there is a way to twist this in my favor. Muslims (and a lot of other cultures) love giving gifts for any reason. If I ever get invited to your house, I promise I will bring you something. I never go anywhere empty handed. It's just something most eastern cultures do (my friend from Mexico says it's common where she's from too).
So, I made a challenge for me. The irony is I didn't participate, but I had a great time making it up.
So the point, our themes are very broad. A little creativity and a Google search can go a long way in creating a challenge that does what you and the group wants to do.

Goodreads counts books on the day you finish, and this group will be following that policy. So, it's up to you. If you want to count a book in 2015, make sure you mark the date finished before Dec. 31, and if you want it to count in 2016, set the date after Jan. 1.
I'm on winter break right now, and I start my reading year on Dec. 25, so even though I will probably finish a book or two today, I'm going to count them in 2016.
I hope this helps.

Update : so i found my corner and am bookmarking it!
Does anyone else find this overwhelming???

Bookmarking your topics is something I recommend to everyone!

How many books did you want to read Donna? I can help you find it. It is a good idea to bookmark it.
If you mean how you get them to count in the official challenge tracker you need to set a date finished (in 2016). In this group you just post in your personal thread that you have finished it and leave a review if you want to :)
Did that answer your question? I will look for your thread, but it helps to know which folder I should look in :)

Books published in the United States in English, including works in translation and other significant rereleases, between November 16, 2014, and November 15, 2015, are eligible for the 2015 Goodreads Choice Awards.

Cool, thanks! And I didn't realize it included books from December - that will add to my challenge:)

You have to set the date read when you review the book. Set the date to a date that's in 2016 aand it will count towards that goal. You should now see the book counted on the tracker. :)

That may be because we changed the name of the group. We have new folders for the 2016 goals. I can either move your old thread into the goal, or you can create a new one.

That has been a thing lately. I've had to do the same thing. I just type confirm with Facebook and move on. I'm sure the site is data mining because that is what Social Media does.

It's possible there is an answer to this question somewhere but my three year olds are not allowing for any down time today and I don't think I'm going to have time to look for an answer. Sorry.

Thank you in advance!

Lindsay, you can search topics by name, but that can be a little cumbersome (especially if you're on mobile). What I would recommend is bookmarkign your challenge thread. You can find a link to yours here: https://www.goodreads.com/comment/sho...

Sorry about the delay, Julie! Let me ping Zara. Thank you!

I do both Catarina :) I might not update the challenge itself for every book, but let's say a challenge has 26 books (A-Z)
I will post for example:
update message .. 1/26
update message: 3/26
If I have time I update, and I like to add it to my corner and personal topic every time, but if you want to read three books and then update that's fine too :)
Did that help some?

Yes, it was very helpful. Thanks.

You're welcome!

How many books do you want to read in 2016? It's probable that it's in the folder that corresponds with your number. Also if there's some days since you posted there it might be in the later pages:)
