thanks for the response :)
I noticed that the last two books I finished reading that each were counted as two books instead of one in the count for the challenge. Is there a way to correct this?
Tim wrote: "I noticed that the last two books I finished reading that each were counted as two books instead of one in the count for the challenge. Is there a way to correct this?"Hi Tim,
If you click on the "edit" in your bookshelf you can change the date started and date finished, and whether or not it's a re-read. Somehow it has registered that you added two dates. Hope it helps :)
Question about the TBR buddy read system: you have March sign up as the current thread (saying it will close on the 24th), but is this for books to read in March, or in April? I'm interested in participating in April (currently reading a long book) so should I sign up now or sign up later? Thanks!

Ben, if you're interested in April, here's the link to sign up: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Can you please tell me how to join a challenge? I posted in the color challenge to join but haven't heard back.
you were most likely added to the list Gretchen, generally you just tell the challenge leader you want to join and they add you to the list
Hey Gretchen. You post in the challenge as you probably did? I lost my grandmother and haven't been able to focus much while waiting for the funeral so that's why it's late. It's getting better now so updates will come very soon. Thank you for joining :) We try to update as often as we can manage, but if it's a bit late sometimes it's usually because life happened. But if you notice the leader has written an "updated" post after you post it, it's likely we missed it and then it would be nice to tell us so that we can add you :)
Do we post directly to the mod to be included in the challenge or do we post this in the body of the challenge?
Nancy from NJ wrote: "Do we post directly to the mod to be included in the challenge or do we post this in the body of the challenge?"Nancy, you post in the body of the challenge. If you just write a message with how many tasks or books you'll be joining the challenge for, the leader will add you to the list of participants as soon as they get the chance :)
Hi, I was searching for the randomizer button but can't find it? See all kinds of ways to sort my TBR list but random doesn't seem to be one of them. Maybe you can help me out? Also, I thought I'd better start with reading the books I already own (one of the ways to sort your books) but all the books on my list are listed as not owned. Where can I change that?
Thank you so much for your help!
Hi Suzy, Are you using the Goodreads app ? The random feature doesn't seem to be available on it, so you might have to be on a computer.
In the browser version, there's a bar at the bottom of the screen when you go into "my books" where you can click the "sort by"-button.
I'm not entirely sure about your second question though :(
Hopefully other members know and can assist?

I think you have to put in for each individual book if you own it or not unfortunately. However you could do what I have done which I really like because it gives me a great overview. It's also very helpful on our secret santa in December.
I have one shelf called own-them-tbr
and one called don't-own-them-tbr.
Hope that helps a little :)

Hi, Suzy! Winter is right that in order to use the goodreads owned list, you must edit each book to show that you own it. She is also right that it might be easier to create your own shelf to put your owned books in. Having said that, here are the steps to mark a book as owned.
1. Click on the title of the book. (I like to make sure i have the right version.)
2. Click the Edit link to the right of the My Actvity section.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see a check box in front of the sentence "I own a copy of this book."
4. Check the box. Another set of fields will appear but you do not have to complete them. Simply choose Save at the bottom of the page and the book will be added to your owned list.
Hope that helps!
Thank you Mary Pat :) I haven't really bothered since I love having the two shelves so I didn't know exactly how to do it.

Hi Lisa, yes I'm using the app. I do most things on my phone so the app is most useful for me. But you were right. Both problems (and some others) I was experiencing were due to the use of the app. Thank you so much!

Hi Mary Pat, yes that did help. Thank you so much!

Hi Winter, that really sounds like a great solution! Thank you so much!
You need to inform te goodreads librarian group. Follow their instructions for how to add the book. Happens to me all the time with Norwegian books.
I'm confused on how to mark spoilers. Didn't it used to be that you could click something in the comment to mark spoilers?[spoiler testing the spoiler /spoiler]
If I have an idea for a monthly challenge, is there somewhere to suggest it? Since April is National Poetry Month in the US, and I have a few books of poetry on my list, I'll be reading them as a personal challenge anyway and would love company! I could be the person keeping track of the thread too, if that helps.
Wayne is absolutely correct! You need to use the <> (carats) not the [] brackets! So it would look like "<"spoiler">"text"<"/spoiler">" without the quotation marks.

I may need to modify my goal for the year, but doing so will cause my "corner" to no longer fit in the 1-50 category. Is there a way to move it to another section?
Meghan wrote: "I may need to modify my goal for the year, but doing so will cause my "corner" to no longer fit in the 1-50 category. Is there a way to move it to another section?"When I changed my goal I was able to move it myself. If you go to your thread there is an "edit" link next to the name of the thread at the top. From there you can change the name and change what folder the thread is in. Hope that helps!

Fantastic! Thank you :)
Hi Mods,Is it possible to create a new discussion thread under the General Group Discussions about The Handmaid's Tale Hulu show? I know we read the book as a group in March, but I'm dying to discuss the show with others who have seen it and there are some major changes from the book. Let me know if this is possible or if you have any suggestions for the discussion. Thanks!
Kara I've been away from reading again and want to restart can I still be paired with a twin/buddy even though today is 4/28

Catherine, you can start a discussion about the show in our Let's Chat section of our group. I would join in because I love the show and would like to see what others think of the changes.
Thanks Kadijah! I wasn't sure if we were allowed to start our own threads for general discussion -- I've started one now. :)
Hello everyone. Is there a quick way of finding my comments without going through the whole list. I'm sure there must be, and I'm sure I have been given instructions before but I can't remember.
