message 2151: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (studioeastrat) | 571 comments My Christmas was great. Everyone enjoyed their presents and it was fun getting together with the family. I also got to watch the Doctor Who Christmas special which was fabulous as usual. Not sure about the New Years resolution thing. I am pretty happy with the way things are. I could stand to loose a little weight and we are working on some debt we have but other than that nothing much really comes to mind.

message 2152: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments That's great Jessica. Get any cool Dr. Who presents too? I think I recalled you mentioning the special before. But I bet a complete box set of one of the seasons would have been awesome too.

I hear ya on the New Year's Resolution thing. I hardly ever make them or keep them. So the most I'm planning in that direction is changing the sheets on my bed, get through studying this driving manual, and back to the job hunt. Oh and maybe get my hair done too. Pretty basic.

message 2153: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (studioeastrat) | 571 comments Oh I got some awesome Doctor Who stuff. It was a doctor who christmas. I got the six season to round out my collection, some tardis socks, two doctor who coffee cups (one travel, one not), and a 11th doctor plush doll. It was awesome.

message 2154: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Awesome, definitely sounds like you cleaned up. More pjs and wal-mart gift cards for me this year.

message 2155: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (studioeastrat) | 571 comments sounds like you had a nice christmas as well. I am always a fan of the gift card. Specially when you don't know what to get that person. I would rather they get something they like then just pick something for the sake of it.

message 2156: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Yep, as chilly as it is around here loves the flannel pjs for sure. I don't mind a gift card either if it's to some place I really like to go or shop from. Not to say we don't go to Wal-mart a lot and that I don't mind shopping there. Just have to figure out what to buy there. I'm up to date with my games and the book selections they do have rarely hold the new releases I'm after. So aside from candy and maybe some new jeans or something, not really sure.

message 2157: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Haven't done a list yet, as there are still presents trickling in... ;) but we had pjs and books, jewelery and perfume, bags, scarfs and other stuff...

message 2158: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Really cleaned up Manuela. :)

message 2159: by Manuela (new)

Manuela (manu21) | 2559 comments Yes, as usual. I have been a good girl, hubby has been good too. Best of course is the trip home and the flight to California at the beginning of the new year.

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments New Question: Who was your first villain crush? Can be from books, movies, tv shows, etc.

message 2161: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments i honestly dont even remember O_O

message 2162: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Ironically I do, just not sure why I was thinking of him at all. But it was Lord Zedd from Power Rangers, haha. Or maybe Shredder from Ninja Turtles. Hmmm.

message 2163: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments oh my gosh i forgot about him XD lol

message 2164: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Yea, he was creatively done. I mean never saw something like that before. Just awesome.

Shari-amor | 5275 comments i dont know about first but I remember loving Joker and Michelle Pfeiffer s catwoman from Batman.

message 2167: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Oh and Dracula.

message 2168: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I loved the Joker and Cat Woman as well. They were classics.

Shari-amor wrote: "i dont know about first but I remember loving Joker and Michelle Pfeiffer s catwoman from Batman."

Lol, I'm watching Michael Keaton Batman on AMC right now. Jack Nicholson's Joker is epic!

message 2170: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Yes!!! Loved Jack Nicholson's version.

I actually recorded that one and Batman Returns last week

message 2171: by [deleted user] (new)

Batman Returns is the one with Catwoman and Penquin right? I liked Pfeiffer but could not stand Penquin...I thought he was so gross! haha

message 2172: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Yep. I use to always forget that Joker wasn't in the same Batman as Catwoman and Penguin. I normally remember Batman Returns because Christopher Walken was in that as well.

So agree, Penguin was super gross. His mouth was just.....ugh

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Marta wrote: "Batman Returns is the one with Catwoman and Penquin right? I liked Pfeiffer but could not stand Penquin...I thought he was so gross! haha"

But I loved Penguin cause he was so nasty in that lol. I'm not particularly fond of penguins the animal in general. But yea Penguin the bad guy was great. Just nasty and loved his waddle lol.

I think they had Batman Beginnings or something like that on during or around the time of Christmas.

message 2174: by [deleted user] (new)

Did you guys like Val Kilmer's Batman era...I fell in love with that series at that time. Wasn't a fan of the Clooney era. But as we have moved forward, I have to say that I like the Dark Night trilogy with Bale. Best in my opinion.
Sorry if I got off topic :)

message 2175: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments No prob on off topic stuff. But I actually liked Kilmer and Keaton's era. Either way though I think they chose great guys that had yummy mouths when in that costume. Wouldn't mind a few upside down Spiderman kisses with them all 'batted' up, lol.

Dhfan4life wrote: "No prob on off topic stuff. But I actually liked Kilmer and Keaton's era. Either way though I think they chose great guys that had yummy mouths when in that costume. Wouldn't mind a few upside down..."

Omg for sure!! Would love to touch those lips

message 2177: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I loved all the different Batman excluding Clooney. It wasn't that he was bad but all the others managed to have a mysteriousness about them. It was like you knew they had a secret or it was more to them. Clooney didn't exude that at all for me.

message 2178: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 03, 2014 06:14PM) (new)

My problem with Clooney was that he was Dr Doug Ross on ER for me. That kind of killed it for me for him as Batman.

message 2179: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments I liked Clooney's debonair air to the role. But I agree he wasn't very mysterious though. Just some rich guy that could get a beautiful woman. Either of you liked Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy? I'll be honest in regular movies she sorta reminds me of a ostrich kind of pecking around. But in fantasy type of movies she is really graceful an actress as a villainess or something.

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Marta wrote: "My problem with Clooney was that he was Dr Doug Ross on ER for me. That kind of killed it for me for him as Batman."

Really? He was just Clooney to me in that. Like his real life identity was bigger than his role as a doctor. Just like, "why is Clooney is in these scrubs right now? Oh you say he's acting? Right I forgot. What's the role again?" lol Same for Benjamin Pratt when he was a doc on there too.

I guess I am just a big superhero fan and I didn't think that Clooney went outside his role out of the scrubs. Don't get me wrong, I love Clooney..just didn't do it for me as Batman.

Uma as Ivy was awesome, loved her in that role.

message 2183: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments I love Uma!!!!!!! I adored her as Ivy. She was geeky, strange and sexy.

message 2184: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Yea she rocked my socks off like that. She wasn't half bad either as Medusa in the first Percy Jackson movie.

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments See totally has the face to be seductive and interesting like that. Great lips too. ;)

message 2187: by [deleted user] (new)

Back to the original question, I have been searching my brain for a villain I first fell in love with but I can't think of one so I am going to fast forward.....

Anakin Skywalker aka Darth Vader/Hayden Christensen

anakin skywalker photo: Anakin Skywalker Anakin-Skywalker.jpg

and Harry Osborn aka Green Goblin/James Franco

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Good choices. And was thinking of tweaking the question. So it would be which villain do you just LOVE to hate?

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments New Question- If you ever won a ticket to visit a planet of your choice. Which would it be and why?

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments New Question: What is your favorite thing about starting fresh in January?/The beginning of the year?

message 2192: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Best answer sis. :)

message 2193: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (studioeastrat) | 571 comments Um...I don't really know. I like the beginning of a new year because that is the start of award season and I really like watching award shows. Plus, all the new material starts coming out be it books, tv, and movies. :)

message 2194: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Same on the shows are back and I just enjoy the fresh start over to accomplish what you want to.

We have enough aliens to see here...lol

message 2198: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments If you could change one event in history what would it be and why? Also what would you change about it?

message 2199: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments If it were me, I'd go for the invention of all the under cage support of women's clothes in the Victorian. I'd change it because, although the stylings of the women's outfits at the time did need some legit support to give them the desired style affect. But I would want them removed, cause all those super tight stays and what not was totally cutting off women's oxygen and I think in essence making women seem far more simpler of mind than they really were. And don't think a woman needs to have her air cut off for fashion.

New Question: In your opinion, what were some of the worse book to movies/tv show transitions?

message 2200: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 1747 comments dont hit me ppl lol but i think twilight was better in the books. i heard queen of the damned was one of the worst books to movie but never read it so idk. the host was a good movie but they left out too much stuff imo with a certain thing. atm off the top of my head i would say twilight was the worst book series to movie (i did like the movies tho). cant think of anything else off hand. sorry e.e. lmao i would like to comment on game of thrones but never read the books.
