Question Of The Day

SN: That is great Nette. Way to go girl!! Sounds like working on those trains is the way to go. Oh and I did look on Amtrack's website. They didn't to be offering work in my area. Which sucks. But maybe once I do get some money saved up can travel to an area where they are more available to me. Thanks for the tip though. :)
New Question: Do you remember how you first learned about taking care of personal finances? Your parents teach you at home with real life bills? Or did you have a class learning about how to do it?

SN: T..."
LOL dude i wanted to die when i had to do a speech thingy in front of fam x.x.
my parents taught me about finances when i was younger

I've learned a bit when I was younger from my folks and other part in school.

SN: T..."
I learned from my parents. Dad's lesson... "See the money. See the bills. Now see, there's no money." ...LOL And that, was economics 101!!

LOL
I had to bring my dad a budget before I was allowed to move out on my own. They didn't want me to come back like a boomerang. I picked up things here and there but I have to admit that for a long time I didn't know what my parents were doing for a living. I mean I knew they were working and I knew their professions but not what it really involved.

LOL
How are you? feeling better????

We had a lady here in Australia who was morbidly obese and she was so ashamed of the way she looked but she wanted to do something about it, so she started walking around the clothesline in her backyard. I think she wrote a book about it. Maybe I can find it, or a link to it.The Clothesline Diet So sorry to hear about your job application. I had success with my (exactly) 100th application. About 50% didn't even reply and the rest send nice letters "sorry, but no and good luck with your future career". That is so frustrating. I am so close of walking out on my job but the economy and the politicial environment force me to sit it out again. Hang in there, sweet cakes, there is a job out there for you. ~hugs~

What kind of work are you looking for, if you don't mind my asking, Carlena?

Yes, it was. Money didn't go far in our home. I have 6 brothers and 5 sisters. So I learned very well how to stretch a dollar and wrestle my brothers over a hamburger...lol

Yeah, the rule in our house was, the first one done eating got to "help" the others finish their plate...lol Let's just say I learned to smack a guy around really good before I left home...lol When I joined the Army at 17 and did boot camp my Junior summer, I already knew how to eat fast...lol

Yes they can. I perfected the art of a headlock with my right arm while feeding myself with the left hand...lol My sisters were rough too. I'm the eldest so I left home first. My youngest brother is 18 y/o. He just started college.

He would have drawn a nub back if he'd tried to eat off of my plate...lol I'm down right violent when it comes to my pork chops...lol

I would love to take my 6 y/o son to see the Lion King. Can't though, due to my allergy to popcorn butter...lol
We have to watch videos because I'm defective!

LOL well I wasn't taught to fight but to get out of really weird positions. My brothers used to tie me up and I wiggled out of all sorts of bindings. That is why I learned to eat fast and why I have been struggling since with weight. When I was single I was in the gym three to four times a week. Mom said just recently to me:" I have never been like now (overweight), when I had a gram too much, I would put in a rice day or go on a diet!".

defective? Why don't you bring your own food? Or is the smell/breathing in already affecting you?

Well we didn't really fight. Just wrestled and tussled around. My sisters would go to blows with each other. That's when I would and could pull out the popcorn and watch the smack down commence...lol My brothers and I would take bets on who would win each go around. Nothing beats live entertainment at home...lol So long as you didn't spill my popcorn everything was alright!
Ding ding ding!! In this corner...

Omeffingg, that sounds hillarious. I loved growing up with my brothers.

It's the smell of popcorn that makes me violently nauseated. If I go near a theater I vomit soon after. I did not have this problem until after the birth of my last child. He ruined me...lol The little sugar bug! He ransoms my kisses(which we call sugar in the south)...lol
I tell him that since mommy can't eat popcorn that I need some sugar/kisses in it's place.

I absolutely love nachos and all of the fixings that go with it. Yummmy!! I love and eat popcorn, too. Just can't go near a theater. Probably because the smell is so concentrated. And that is so upsetting because my youngest son doesn't get the same outtings that my two eldest got.

I love my sugar but he's stingy with them...lol He tells me that his sugar is for his daddy. I tell him that I'll just get my sugar from his daddy then. So he says "I'll give you some sugar if you don't kiss my daddy." LOL
He is such a mess. He'll kiss me to keep me from kissing his father! What a chore, right? LOL

that is right, Carlena, she's got such a cute boy. I'd love to have one myself.

Thanks and ladies. He is my sunshine that makes my day.
Manuela,
Kids are so worth the effort and they are truly a gift.

Oh wow, sorry to hear about that with you and the popcorn Nette. I think that would totally break my heart. I love that buttery popcorn smell and the taste is even better. I just don't like those darn pesky kernels though. Cause without fail I manage to get several stuffed deep down in my gums when I eat popcorn.
Wowza too on the 12 kids there. Large families like that always amaze me. But as you mentioned there has been quite the learning curve on things with your family there for sure lol.
Haha, that sounds like a good trade off. Kisses from the son or the daddy in exchange for the popcorn.
No way to foster a children for you Manuela?

I love Chocolate bars (candy) and vegetables (health food). I'd rather eat potatoe mashed up with carots and peas, or brocoli and corliflower and beans than meat.

I guess I never think about it. I'm usually talking (to myself at times...lol)to people in the passing so it doesn't matter. In front of a crowd of 3 or 300 makes no difference. Just as long as someone listens...lol
Oh, and by the way, I passed my Final with a 98%. Yay!!! Now all I have to do is pass my signals and railroad rules and then I get to play choo choo you...lol
