Watcha Doing? Version 2015.5

That is very scary Lynda. I hope he recovers soon!

You'll do great Peggy. Keep focusing on how you want it to be rather than how you don't want to be - I find that makes a big difference to how I feel about something coming up.
A bit of dirt doesn't kill you. But a grubby book is grubby forever ;-) I get much dirtier now living on a boat what with muddy towpaths and coaldust. I've been out to the pub or to the cafe for breakfast, popped to the loo while I'm waiting for my food to arrive and noticed I either have mud all over my trousers or coaldust smeared across my face. What the servers must think I've no idea. Not to self - always look in the mirror BEFORE leaving the boat :-)

Us too with checking the mirror before going outside. I had to tell Lexx as we switched drivers at my work this morning, he had a chicken present down his front... bathroom sinks, soap and hand dryers are awesome!

Lol Travis! I think I would be the same though :D

That says all the right things about you!

I also wear readers over my contacts, so that's good to know. Hasn't happened yet, though...

"Chicken present" that is hilarious!!
I can't wear contacts so no readers to possibly improve my vision. :( I just take my regular glasses off when reading.
My husband is also nearsighted, but he swears he can't see up close without his glasses on. I've tried telling him his glasses aren't for close up vision, but he has himself convinced he needs them for everything.

My niece's husband was moved out of the ICU into the CCU today; his stroke was massive, but his stent surgery went well. They are keeping him under sedation to allow him time to heal, and are keeping him monitored. With time, and a lot of rehab, the doctors are hopeful he'll make a full recovery.

I hope the doctors are right and he recovers completely. He and his family are in my prayers.

Y'all aren't going to believe this. I dropped my cell phone into the toilet. (Don't ask.) Lost all my contacts. Had to get a new phone. Now have to get my contact stuff back. Pictures gone, grrrrrrrr.

I have a friend who perpetually drops her phone in the toilet. She doesn't carry a purse so keeps it in her pocket and voila! Toilet time. She's done it like six times in the last five years.

We had such a big wind storm last night, the tree we had in the middle of our house fell -The middle of the house is opened to the sky, so the garden is inside the house-
Time to take out my jacket from the old bags.

Kandice, exactly what happened! Was almost flushed too.Auto flush, when you stand up.) Was at Walmart, so I got home, tried to dry it out by using rice in a bag, but after 7 hrs., still dead as a door-nail. So, a return to Walmart for a larger phone with a SIM card this time.
@Casceil, No SIM card, had one of those Smart talk phones that held everything in phone storage.

We've not been listening to much music this year as all of our CDs are in storage at my parents and we don't have a stereo either. So we're in the process of looking at car stereos which we can mount in a funky box with some good speakers (also mounted in funky boxes) to use on the boat. I want a CD player but I also want it to play mp3, have a USB socket and bluetooth so I can operate it using my phone. It's going to be our Christmas present to ourselves and I'm really looking forward to it. I miss listening to music.

We had a cold night last night and for some reason our fire didn't stay in the whole night (typical) so I didn't get much sleep as my face was cold. My partner relit it before going to work so at least I woke up to a toasty boat. What a star!

Glad to hear that Lynda. I hope he continues to get better :)

The toilets are made of aluminum so I imagine he was down on hands and knees with his shirt rolled up and hand and arm down inside, trying to flush out his cell phone.
-- Jim Cameron, Connecticut Metro-North commuter council
NEW YORK (Reuters) -- Cell phone users have been known to complain about poor service, but one New York man's mobile literally went down the toilet.
The man was on a suburban train from Grand Central Station on Wednesday night when he went to the bathroom to make a phone call, dropped the phone into the toilet bowl and then his hand and arm became stuck trying to retrieve it, officials said.
Metro-North Railroad staff could not help the man, so they stopped the train and called police officers and firefighters to extricate him, a process that took 90 minutes using "jaws of life" rescue equipment.
"The toilets are made of aluminum so I imagine he was down on hands and knees with his shirt rolled up and hand and arm down inside, trying to flush out his cell phone," said Jim Cameron of the Connecticut Metro-North commuter council.
He said that because of the design of the train toilet, the mobile probably ended up in a chemical holding tank.
A spokesman for the railroad that serves the northern suburbs of New York and Connecticut identified the man as Edwin Gallard, 41, of New York, who suffered a minor injury to his arm as firefighters cut the toilet apart.
The track was closed and thousands of commuters were delayed during the evening rush hour.
The phone has not yet been recovered.

Totally jealous. We're experiencing record rainfall, and also setting records for the darkest days. Rivers are flooding, the hillsides are landsliding. So that's been fun.

I am back. the unread tally in unbelievable so I am marking all as read. so i will miss everything that happened in the last months.
Long story short. I had an almost dying experience. I do not recommend it if you had this one on your bucket list.
I am almost back to normal but I was so tired that after a day's work, I was too tired to read.
I am working from Las Vegas this week, soaking out heat before winter. Anyone here around LV?
