Janice (jamasc) | 59890 comments Thanks Sandra!

Let's go with the first one - sharing favourite recipes.

message 2154: by Joan (new)

Joan a recipe thread is a hreat idea. Even though I don't cook and I don't like eating really I enjoy reading recipes. I really enjoyed the writing of a writer named MFK Fisher (or something like that).

message 2155: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Yeah for a recipe thread!!!!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Also, I hope you all are safe if we have anyone in our group here in Paris.

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments First time having to pick a sick kid from school. You just know it isn't good when the janitor is waiting by the door of the room so when you get kid he can get on clean up. Trust me on this.

CFDeeDee It's been so long since I've posted anything over here !
Well, a lot been going with me lately, I just finished my computer course two days ago and I passed with an A+ :D but not sure when my certificate is going to be approved since its coming all the way from Dubai !

I went to the bookshop as a self-gift for such a great accomplishment and got myself few books from what I've been recommended. To my surprise I found more than 5 books which were on the recommendation list, actually half list, and I picked the most 3 I liked ! Perhaps I'll go for the rest of the list during the book fair which would be held on March .. Can't wait till March is here :D

I had couple of job interviews so I hope my unemployment days would be over soon! Some income would do me good these days ..

Just this morning I had my mirror cube delivered by mail .. Been waiting for it for so long :D I opened it right away and mixed the cube up and solved it in less than 20 minutes LOL .. I couldn't held myself on not solving it :P

Mirror cube ~> https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/...

I'm crazy about Rubik's cube, but not a speed cube solver ^^"

So glad I'm done with exams, they were consuming most of my time !

message 2167: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I am sitting in a chair at my library, on the second floor, looking east, through the picture windows, watching a rain cloud dump rain over the west hills. I could see the hills a few minutes ago, but they are gone now, under the sheets of rain. The storm is moving north to south and it is lit by the sun, behind the library. There is a park with ponds and walking paths below and the trees are all glowing, dressed up in their fall colors, at least those that still have leaves. I am listening to Temeraire #8.

message 2168: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11261 comments Sounds so good, Cherie. Enjoy.

message 2169: by Berit☀️✨ (new)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) I'm just seriously impressed your library is open on Sunday! :-)

message 2170: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11261 comments My local library too, Berit, from noon to 5pm, except in summer, that is closed on Sundays.

message 2171: by Berit☀️✨ (new)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) My library is closed on Sunday and only open every other Saturday :-(

message 2172: by Anne (Booklady) (new)

Anne (Booklady) Molinarolo (wwwgoodreadscomAnneMolinarolo) | 1282 comments Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for my family, especially for my sister. She's not doing well. I think she's still in shock.

@Sandra Yum, recipes! :-) I'll look tomorrow and add some. I'm really tired. Hopefully nothing else will happen for a while.

message 2173: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Sleep well, Anne. Sometimes we get so caught up in looking after those we love, we can forget about ourselves. So please make sure you have a good rest. You can't help your sister if you're exhausted.

note this is written by an outsider, but one who has run herself ragged looking after people in the past and can speak on the outside looking in.

Lots of hugs and thoughts still going your way and your family's.

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments For years I've swore to never join twitter. Yesterday I joined twitter. Maybe it's the apocalypse

message 2175: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11261 comments I'm with Rusalka in this, Anne. Rest and try to find someone who could support you too. Then you will be able to better support your sister. Virtual hugs. You and your family are in my prayers.

message 2176: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11261 comments @Travis, I see you ending being a twitter star!
I don't use social media other than GR, really. I set accounts in twitter, tumblr and google+ for my blog, buy the only thing I do is to post the link to the new review.
I couldn't bring myself to open a facebook account, though.

Sandra (sanlema) | 11261 comments And the winner of the most creative title award is...

The Sales Assassin: Master Your Black Belt in Sales

message 2178: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments That is a funny title. My wifes boss told her t create a job title for herself. She said she wanted to be supreme master black belt of physical therapy. Never did ask if she got it

If you ask me it sounds more appropriate for a chiropracter than physical therapist

Hmmm. I suppose could share my own special recipe of stuffed cuttlefish in lightly spicy tomato sauce...

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments @Milkman_trav. Have not tweeted yet and still strangers I don't know follow me. It appears a gimmick to me. People follow you hoping you will follow them. Like reverse psychology

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments You've summed up about 80% of twitter.

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Ew! There's dog poo in our apartment building, on the ground floor carpet in front of the mailboxes. Yuck, who lets his dog poo inside? And why not clean it up?!?! So glad we move out in 2 months!

message 2189: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Interesting how most of us are assuming it's a man walking his dog. Also, imagine his apartment. Maybe his dog ran out of places to poo there.

message 2192: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Oh no, could be a woman. I was just to lazy to add /her while typing on my phone. And in Dutch 'his' in such contexts is often assumed to sort of cover both sexes.

message 2193: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Ew! We get people around our apartment that don't pick up after their dogs even though their are poo bag stations :( sometimes people are in a hurry...or just lazy ;)

message 2194: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments It happens outside a lot too, and we have those stations too. There's poo right next to those stations even. I hate it, especially now that it's dark when I walk back from the train station. I always have to think 'there was poo somewhere in this area this morning' and then walk very carefully. I tend to walk on the road when it's dark, just to be safe (from the poo, not so safe with regard to cars ;-))

message 2195: by Berit☀️✨ (new)

Berit☀️✨ (berittalksbooks) Do you have sidewalk??? I just thought about that, I don't think it is everywhere, or maybe isn't called sidewalk everywhere, LOL!

message 2196: by Joan (new)

Joan Travis, I call my PT THE GRAND WIZARD because he works magic on my wreck of a body.

message 2197: by Joan (new)

Joan A town called Barking and Dagenham in the U.K. uses DNA to track down owners who leave dog poo around! Ironic nsme for the town. I saw that in the news last spring; I think Tel Aviv does too.

message 2198: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie My hometown is having a bad windstorm tonight. Winds have gotten up to 70mph. Crazy!!

message 2199: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments We do have a sidewalk Berit, that's where the poo is!

We also had a storm here last night. Especially along the coast the winds were very strong.

message 2200: by Travis (new)

Travis (travistousant) | 6011 comments I like that title Joan
