Heifer I have been calling you
Haha oh man, I was somehow hoping it hadn't reached all my challenge communities :PYes. 'tis I. The immoral, evil, destructive force waging war on the conscious of humanity.
Ah yes. When I was a youngin', dreaming of fame and fortune, I said to myself Cait...this is how you'll do it. :PI mean I have gotten a lot of free book offers and requests for reviews from the whole thing so that's pretty awesome. The rest of it....slightly...less awesome.

Lol! People keep sending me links to articles and blog posts and telling me it's being passed around at conventions and stuff. And I'm just sitting over here like "And what would I have done differently if I knew the entire world was going to read it?" Whole thing has been madness. Seems to be winding down now at least which I can't say I'm sad about haha

The funny thing is her review isn't bad/mean. I've written worse ones for sure. The author just goes nutso to the point where you wonder if poor Cait will bring on the apocalypse lol. What a moron because his reaction just cost book sales not her review.
maybe he thinks: 1) any publicity is good and/or
2) now people will buy/read it to see if it was a personal attack.
by writing a book an author asks to be judged, you did. (rather their work)

an alternative perspective from a struggling author's view
A friend of mine whose an author told me that when she gets 1-star reviews, she wants something more concrete like "too much sex and no plot" or "this book really needed an editor". She said Cait's review didn't even mention a single character so you can't even be sure she read the book.
Ezi's thoughts: I have read 5-star reviews and bought a book and thought it was crazy that people loved the book.
for instance Stella ╰☆╮ Mistress of Gorgonzola Goodness╰☆╮ and I read Dark horse on a BR here on TCF, I gave the book a 1.5, maybe 2 stars. I HATED the book. Stella gave it a 5-star and continued the series. I thought I would rather drink rhinoceros piss than read book 2. We both wrote a little blurb and other readers will have to decide which review to give more credence :D
**that's just they way it is.
I have seen people give BDB 1-star (if I meet them on the street, I will probably hit them, for real).
I have learned to look at the GR friends who have similar tastes to me.
@Jenne
Ezi still hates Jerricho Barrons---unknown supernatural creature who cannot be verified as on the side of good!!

My thing was...honestly, when I finished that book, it felt like my brain was melting out of my ears. I have never hated a book as much as I hated that book. But more than I wanted to explain why, I just wanted the experience to be over. So I wrote the review, put it on the read shelf, and moved on.When he started berating me, I offered repeatedly to write a long, well thought out review to expand on what I thought and why so it would be constructive at least. He informed me I was far too immoral to do such a thing.
So he can just sit with the one I gave him. I could have done far, far worse.
