AH | 2271 comments Hi! Hope everyone is keeping toasty warm!

Any ideas for team names?

message 6: by Megan L (new)

Megan L Harnett Hi Team 3! I hope everyone is doing well and staying warm! It is 3 degrees here this morning with a high of 12 degrees expected throughout the day! :)

message 7: by AH (new)

AH | 2271 comments So where is everyone from? I'm from Montreal so I'm in the Eastern time zone. It's -26C this morning which is really, really, really cold. Too bad they don't have stay at home under the covers days here.

message 8: by Megan L (last edited Jan 23, 2013 06:00AM) (new)

Megan L Harnett Hi AH,

I am from Albany NY, just 3 hours south of you! It is also cold here too but not as cold as where you are!

Anyway I will offer to be team captain if nobody else wants to. And I will offer up some team names as soon as I can think of some!

message 9: by JennyWren (last edited Jan 23, 2013 07:41AM) (new)

JennyWren (guinivere87) | 174 comments Hey Megan. Thanks for offering. I second!

I'm from Plymouth. UK not US. It's quite chilly here, we even had some snow this year.

What about "Three To Get Deadly"?

It's a title from the Stephanie Plum Series, nothing to do with fantasy. I just like how it sounds. I'll think of some more.

message 10: by Megan L (new)

Megan L Harnett I like "Three to Get Deadly".

Another option maybe - "Triple Crown"

I don't know I am not very good with team names.

message 11: by AH (new)

AH | 2271 comments Three to get deadly works for me. Thanks for offering to be team captain.

message 12: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (Reading is Better With Cupcakes) (imjustcupcake) | 255 comments Heh. Reading what temperature it is for all of you makes me feel bad...I live in SoCal...not very far away from Disneyland... It is overcast today (pretty rare) and apparently in the 70s...

I really don't have any ideas for a team name. Three to Get Deadly works for me though if you guys want to go with that. And who ever wants to be team captain can go for it =)

And Jennifer.. I know! And we are also team 3 again! Liz is also on another team with me in another group. Apparently Mr. Random likes to keep me with people I know.

Lizz (Beer, Books and Boos) | 1193 comments It was 76 here in Texas but we are going back down this weekend :(

I feel that way too about Mr. Randoms

message 15: by Megan L (new)

Megan L Harnett Hi Lizz!

Ok so I guess I will be team captain and our team name can be "Three to Get Deadly"? Unless anybody else has any other ideas for names.

message 16: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (Reading is Better With Cupcakes) (imjustcupcake) | 255 comments Sounds good to me.

I'm ready for this game to start. I'm having bingo withdrawals, hoping this helps with that.

JennyWren (guinivere87) | 174 comments Megan. Thanks for being Team Captain!

I can't wait to get started. Is it the 27th? I'll have to read the rules by then ;-)

Stephanie (Reading is Better With Cupcakes) (imjustcupcake) | 255 comments Yeah AH I have been thinking about my colors. I know I have a whole series in red, and another whole series in blue (dante valentine and jill kismet series) and then I think i have a couple yellow....I dont think I really have too much green, but I have a book I have been meaning to reread for a long time if it comes down to it. I haven't read it in years, so maybe this game will get me to do it...but maybe not =)

Stephanie (Reading is Better With Cupcakes) (imjustcupcake) | 255 comments I believe move drawing time is based on Japan time, which means that it technically happens for us tomorrow (saturday)! Pretty stoked!

Megan L Harnett Ok Ladies Steph posted a set time between 6am-9am on Sunday for a start time. This is between 4pm-7pm here on Saturday for me in Eastern Standard time. I am thinking we can draw early like between 4:00 and 4:30 pm today. Does this work for everybody or would you like me to do it at 7pm? I am flexible.

Lizz (Beer, Books and Boos) | 1193 comments River Road (Sentinels of New Orleans, #2) by Suzanne Johnson by Suzanne Johnson
Finished: 1/27
Stars: 5

It was just wanted I needed to read at the moment. I love this series. I am glad I don't have to wait that long for the 3th book. Just 7 months. I like the characters a lot. I still don't know who I what DJ to be with Alex ,Jake or Jean Lafitte. I liked the twist and turns in this book. It had me guessing through out the story. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book

That the next one is right around the corner makes me happy, but I still need to buy this one and with how many books I have recently acquired I can't let myself buy it yet.

AH | 2271 comments 1/28/13 - Finished my FREE read - Deep Betrayal - 4 stars

If you've thought mermaids were beautiful women with fish tails, you are partially right. The mermaids (and mermen) of Deep Betrayal are kind of like sea vampires, sucking up happy emotions from humans. Deep Betrayal is the sequel to Lies Beneath and in my opinion a much better book. In this book, people are disappearing and are thought to be drownings or victims of a rip tide. Lily and Calder work together to find out who is responsible. There is a nice integration of mermaid poetry and native indian mermaid lore into the narrative.

Megan L Harnett Return to Paradise (Leaving Paradise, #2) by Simone Elkeles by Simone Elkeles
Read: 1/29/13
Review:★★★★

This is the sequel to the book Leaving Paradise. Overall this series is pretty good. Simone Elkes does a really good job of describing and gives you a good sense of the characters. I really liked this book but I wish it might have ended a little better. It felt it was a little rushed to tie up all the loose ends. Overall really good little series!

I enjoyed the first book in that series, the second - not so much.
