To put it simply, King, any dog who likes me. That said, currently I like Ami , a Pit Bull therapy dog who belongs to my friend Pastor Corey at Trinity UCC in Belleville. Ami's such a gentle giant he can only kill you either by anaphylaxis (severe allergic reaction) or what I call DBS. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anaphyl...DBS means "Death By Slobber" and ALL breeds are capable of it. Basically it means they KISS you to death.
Ami's a brindle. My first, and so far only, dog was an apricot and white Cockerpoo. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cockapoo (Despite wikipedia, the grammatically proper name of the breed is COCKERPOO) . Her name was Buttercup.
I noticed quite a bit of dog talk and had to weigh in. Like, Amber, I'm also very fond of all breeds, though bloodhounds (Duke, Beverly Hillbillies) are possibly my favorite.
Hi D.B. I like bloodhounds too. They're cool dogs to have especially for hunting. My grandfather own land in Bowling Green Kentucky and he has one.
Hi My name is Paige and I am a woman who loves to Read books! Mostly Mysteries and Historical Fiction, sometimes Biographies.
I also like to knit - my three dogs are a big part of my life, two poodles and one Chi-Chinese Crested mix name "Beanie" he only weighs 5lbs! A Sweetie.
Paige

King wrote: "Hi D.B. I like bloodhounds too. They're cool dogs to have especially for hunting. My grandfather own land in Bowling Green Kentucky and he has one."I unexpectedly "fostered" one for a few months. Nearly broke my heart when he disappeared as randomly as he materialized. Apparently, Merlin , the name I'd assigned him, suited him well!
Did you pick him out from the "Honorable Mentions" list in the watchmojo.com Top 10 Giany Movie Monsters coundown? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Eex1...Mine's Gojira.
King wrote: "King Kong"He's no kaiju! He's American (though he starred in a deplorable Godzilla movie).
I would give Godzilla greatest, but my personal favorite is Rodan.
Gamera (but not a Toho creation) gets friendliest.
Mothra gets best sidekicks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Y9B0...
I give kudos credit for coming up with Yongary! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETbxd...
Never heard of the last one. Kirsten. The Godzilla movie you mentioned that we Americans know as GODZILLA VS, KING KONG was one of the Honorable Mentions in the vide I spoke about earlier.
I hated that one. How a dumb ape could beat something as smart as Godzilla. The last one is pretty obscure. I'm not sure it's on DVD yet. My dad was a big fan of these movies and found it on late night TV. We now have the VHS tape.
....are we really arguing over who's smarter Godzilla or King Kong????Nerds of the world...eat your hearts out.
I love this line of reasoned debate over such stimulating subject matter. I'm in the Godzilla camp. I grew up watching Godzilla take on all comers without flinching and kick some serious butt. I'm pretty sure he's indestructible and fierce as all get out. King Kong would put up a decent fight but would ultimately lose.
Since I have never seen a Godzilla movie and barely remember King Kong, I cannot offer an opinion on this serious debate :) so I will just introduce myself:I am a newbie to The Good Thriller group , about a month, and I have just participated in one of the best discussions: VOID by David Staniforth, a thought-provoking book about memory and David was great about checking in w/ us and providing his insights into his book. I liked the comraderie among those who posted comments and ended up with a very good feeling about the group as a whole!
I am a retired middle school English teacher and live in State College, PA, home of Penn State University, a great place to live! So many stimulating activities always going on here in a college town = great theatre/music dept. performances.
Of course, I love to read, and I'm a pretty eclectic reader. I keep up with current popular literary fiction, loved Boys in the Boat, Swans of Fifth Avenue but also love a good thriller! Stephen King is probably my all-time favorite, not particularly his horror stories, but IMO , he is a master storyteller w/ such well-developed characters! On the other hand, my favorite male contemporary character is Reacher of the Lee Child series. I must stop as I can feel your eyes glaze over :)
Looking forward to our chats and hope to get to discuss our BOTM's with you !
Hi Betsy. t's OK if you don't know anything about Godzilla and/or King Kong, the question was basically aimed at the older members of this group. The older members of this group know I think new members can learn more about me by listening to my playlists. So here's my current video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bE2Fk...
Actually, their both members of the Actors Guild and get together for snacks and poker between movies...
What was that reference about the "older members of the group?" Ouch! I don't feel that old! I was just a little kid who watched monster movies with my older brothers. But I thought Godzilla was the coolest of them all.
Well...King Kong was made in 1933, so I wasn't around then and Godzilla was made in 1954 so...I was about 2.I was a kid to!
I've also missed this stuff, Mike hahaYour comments did make me have a little laugh out loud as well. :)
Hi Betsy!
Thanks for making me feel welcome here !!You guys and your creatures :) And speaking of "older members of the group".... I am older than all of you as I "turned" (sounds like sour milk) 75 last month = egads!
hi I live in florida, used to live in puerto rico I love books and music. I'm also a mod in quiz town.

Well, belated birthday.
Amber wrote: "King...Gojira is an atomic T-REX! Therefore he is an atomic DINOSAUR. Dinosaurs are NOT lizards!"Dinosaur mean "Terrible Lizard in Greek" I like the first meaning because they look like giant lizards to me:)
Amber wrote: "I guess noone's interested in sharing who their favorite kaiju is."Abura-akago (from Japanese artist Toriyama Sekien's famous Gazu Hyakki Yagyō series, published in 1779).
Glen wrote: "What was that reference about the "older members of the group?" Ouch! I don't feel that old! I was just a little kid who watched monster movies with my older brothers. Or someone old enough to have had parents who were snot nosed teenagers when the Beach Boys got started.
Betsy, you're still a baby compared to people like my Dad's aunt Betty...she's in her 90's and still busy!
King: I KNOW what it means but just because the name "dinosaur" is Greek for "Terrible Lizard," DOES NOT make them lizards, biologically speaking. And yes, you're also right about Gojira looking like a big, scary mutant lizard but at least he isn't gonna kill you by being sugary sweet like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man after he got roasted by the Ghostbusters! *giggle*
D.B.: 1779! Damn! That's wayyyyyyyyyy before our time, even Betsy's! PMSL!
Hello from the state of South Carolina. Avid reader here who will read anything. Love mysteries and classic literature. Looking forward to meeting many of you on this fantastic book site!
My internet is so slow I give up trying to post. King Kong. Personality, intelligent, fury. Godzilla has none of that.
