What are you reading? (part drei)
@Erica I also tried reading Spiders Bite by Jennifer Estep. But I couldn't quite make it work. Rather than force myself (I was only two chapters in) I put it to the side for now. It seems like a good book but it's hard to switch between different themes general. @Angie and Brenda I know what you mean about free ebooks. Whenever I log in my naughty index on my left finger likes to 1-Click. My bank account loves it even more knowing that I statesman away from those with a dollar sign.
Ugh predictive phone texting made my previous comment sound upside down ;( Forgive my inept App and touch screen.
I'm starting an ARC of
(only a day before it comes out cuz I suck like that...lol)Just finished
on audio and have moved right on to
Ok I really enjoy this series but is it just me or is the whole Sean and Georgia thing a little creepy? It seems like they love each other just a little too much for brother and sister. I get what the author is trying to convey (I think) but there were a few scenes in Deadline that made me shudder (& not in a good way). Oh and by the way....the change in narrators for the last book is annoying. Why would they do that after listening to these characters for 30 something hours in other voices?

ROFL funny how those dates catch you but hey atleast you are starting now ***grins***

I just finished
which I really enjoyed though I don't think I'll be rereading this any time soon because the body count was OTT as far as I was concerned (15 in the next to last chapter of the book alone). I have reread the previous two in the series a couple of times. I'm really looking forward to the next one, though. Hopefully it won't be so long a wait. I've started
.
LastBreath and Sandra, I HATE cliffhangers!!! But it seems like some of my favorite writers are amazingly awesome at leaving their books hanging so bad that I want to scream for the months until I can get ahold of the next one!! I must say, Laurell K Hamilton has to be the worst about it though, leaving fans of the Merry Gentry series hanging for almost FIVE YEARS!! I just read them within the last two years, so I can't scream as much as people that started reading when the first one was released, but I'm still pretty annoyed! I can't understand how some authors can crank out 5-10 books in a year, good books at that, but others can barely manage one. LKH has been going into her writing process on her blog recently, and what she's been trying to change about that process to bring back the love of writing, to work happy as she calls it, but I still don't get it. I'm very impatiently waiting for the next Anita Blake book, which is not made any easier by her going on and on about all these book and short story ideas she has for the series. Also H.P. Mallory, who I adore!!!, is the absolute worst (or best) at leaving books off on cliffhangers. She currently has three series running, and while I just bought Ghouls Rush In, I may wait until that whole series is finished before I start it. The other two, Sinjin and Bryn series and the Lily Harper series, both were left off with absolute edge of my seat type cliffhangers!! One has an attack that's going to happen any minute, and the other one leaves off with the hero of a sort needing the heroine to get there RIGHT NOW even though she's like a two day walk from where he is. BAH!! And no news on when the next one will be out for either series!! But, she's one of the authors that can crank out several books in a year, I think she's up to three or four already, with at least one up to be released in September. For the Sinjin and Bryn book, she had posted on Facebook when she had started it and it was published and on my kindle within three months I believe. That's from the first sentence being written to it being available on amazon. Pretty crazy turn around! It was pretty short though.
I'm definitely not a cliffhanger fan either Angie and I'm often way behind on series just cause I sometimes wait till they're all out, or nearly all out :)
That's a great plan! I mean, when I started Anita Blake, there was 20 books out, 21 was coming out in just a few days from when I started, and of course several short stories, so it kept me busy for quite a while, but now I have to wait a year between them. Hers aren't usually too bad for the cliffhangers, but there's still the implication of something big on the horizon. And even as fast as HP Mallory sends them out, when the cliffhanger is as big as hers are, it drives you crazy!! It's not like I'm not already hooked on the stupid things! No reason to make the ending into something that should barely be an ending of a chapter!! It just drives me crazy.
I'm just about finished About a Dragon and I discovered something. According to GR I've almost finished Dragon Dream as well. Which is pretty funny, because I think it's written in German! Who knew I was multi-lingual? I sure didn't.I would also like to point out some other trivial points of interests between these three covers
. The first cover does not marry up with the whole long silver haired dragon, Briec, that G A Aiken describes. Neither does the last cover portray how I thought Talaith would appear! Whoever does the cover art really needs to do some research. Just saying :)
btw all three hold the same story of About a Dragon.
I'm about half way through
now and it has finally caught my attention. Now if only I had some time to read lol. But I am glad I finally got into it.
I just started Spider's Bite, well I'm almost a quarter of a way through it, and for some reason, even though I know it's about an assassin, I didn't expect it to be so violent. Not that it bothers me, it just kinda caught me by surprise.
I finished
I was glad to see this series come to an end, in the beginning I loved this series but it kind of limped along for me.Now starting

I would keep reading the Sparks series. They are fun and the series gets better as it goes.

They aren't as bad as some, but there are some larger story arcs within the series.

I love the bleer, bliskey and the Vanna White and Black dolls. So funny!

Thanks Darcy. I'm enjoying more now that I'm getting used to the quirkiness. I love the tasseled socks :0)
Just finished Clockwork Angel and Clockwork Prince both of which were in manga form. The first one was difficult to get my head around. Probably should have read the novel before starting the Manga. But the second was a lot easier to grasp. Hopefully I'll be making a start on Clockwork Princess in audio this weekend.
Has anyone else read
? I just got to the OMG part and I need to talk to someone about it. That went somewhere I really did not want to go. Wth??

and I agree. It took me awhile to get into it but when i did I enjoyed the read. Probably will read the next one in the series at some point. Now I'm taking a break from UF/PR and reading
because its super girly and I like Nora Roberts when I need something girly and a change fro Uf/PR lol.

I will check that one out I think I have seen that at my library
50 something hours of audio later I finally finished the Newsflesh Trilogy w/
I really enjoyed the whole series. I plan to start
on audio soon but it's another long one and I need to cleanse my brain with some smut in between so I'm currently listening to
Will start Parasite when I'm done.Getting ready to start reading

I signed up with them when they were brand new and I got grandfathered into a plan they no longer offer. I get 10 audio books a month for $30. Since I can't beat that deal anywhere and they now have a good selection I just suck it up.

I hate it when my library audio books only come through one click or with cd's, because I don't have that option either.
I'm just about to start The Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I have my giant multi pack and Dark Bites to get me through for quite a while. I do have a question though, I noticed in the "Dark-Hunterverse" link on Me Kenyon's goodreads page that The Chronicles of Nick are interspersed within the Dark Hunter series, is that how I should read them? It seems very strange to me to have a spin off series that is YA from an adult UF series on its own, but for them to actually come up in the timeline of the original series really confuses me!! I made myself a list so that I have them in order of how it says on that goodreads page, but I'm up for suggestions. Hopefully I'll be as enthralled with them as everyone else seems to be, since reading to catch up will take me quite a while! Love to have my next book picked out with no decision to be made ;-)

I liked him, he is actually my favorite character and I think a lot of that is because I read about him as a kid.
Not sure if that helped you out or not, hopefully others will have an opinion too.
As for the DH books, I didn't really get into them until I hit #2-3.
Reading Night Broken by Patricia Briggs. I finally got it through the library on my Kindle. I'm 30% through it according to my Kindle and I seriously can't stand Christy! And so far Mercy is handling it better than I would.
Finished the latest Kitty Katt
It was back to how I like my Kitty Katt, now to wait for December and the next instalment.

Did you notice missing anything or knowing anything ahead of when you should by reading them first? I'm a bit o the way through Fantasy Lover, which I know it was said in the Dark Hunters' thread that it's an outside book, but e characters show up later in the series, so I could always stop after it and start one Chronicles instead of reading them in the order suggested on the Dark Hunterverse page.

You could read the books by publishing date and then get them in the order that Kenyon did in her head.
