Greta (goodreadsgreta) | 4545 comments i'm sort of bummed. i thought catching fire released this weekend :/

does anyone else think the height difference between josh hutchinson and jennifer lawrence seems to be growing!

message 3602: by Tati (new)

Tati Greta, it did release this weekend, but only in Brazil.

message 3603: by Tati (new)

Tati Have to say I was a bit shocked to learn the Brazil was the first country to screen Catching Fire, as movies usually release here on the same day as the US or a couple weeks later (in some cases, the movies release here months later)

I just don't like Josh Hutcherson at all!"

i think he looks like a nice guy, and that he's believable as Peeta....but i guess i just don't find him super attractive. :/

I agree. I don't think he's all that attractive either. He grew on me a bit while watching The Hunger Games, but I don't think he's really all that handsome.

I kinda liked Peeta in the books (view spoiler)

Greta, I think that has something to do with the fact that Friday was a national holiday. Maybe they wanted to take advantage of the fact that all the teenagers in the country were home.

And no, I haven't watched it yet. I was going to watch it today with some friends, but they couldn't make it.

You should try re-reading something that you really loved the first time you read it. That always works for me ☺

message 3612: by MB (new)

MB (welcometomb) | 80 comments Sarah's right. But sometimes, I only re-read the parts wherein I really fell head over heels then I will return to what I currently read. :)

I sometimes get that way if I've had a string of bad books. But like Matthew said, sometimes I don't even have to read all of one of my favourite books to get back in the mood. I only read the first chapter of Stray (Shifters, #1) by Rachel Vincent a couple of weeks ago, and it broke the bad books cycle for me ☺

Buddy reading always helps me too ☺ If someone else is excited about reading a book it helps to motivate me!

message 3615: by Stormy (new)

Stormy | 2515 comments The hunger games is my favourite book

message 3616: by Abi (new)

Abi (abi_gr) | 27659 comments Like everyone else, i reread a few chapters of a book i loved... but sometimes i do the opposite!

If i read a few chapters of a book i really hated, it makes think "It could be worse" so it helps me get through one i'm struggling with. :)

message 3617: by MB (new)

MB (welcometomb) | 80 comments I think reading wouldn't be interesting without "bad books". So, we really have to deal with them. :)

Greta (goodreadsgreta) | 4545 comments Tatiana wrote: "I think that dystopian trilogies don't end well..."

i think you're right. it's very few dystopian series that end really well.

Greta (goodreadsgreta) | 4545 comments Natalie wrote: "The hunger games is my favourite book"

have you read Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee
i remember reading it and not being able to put it down. a super quick read. or
Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky, #1) by Veronica Rossi that was another all nighter for me.

I see what you mean, if we didn't have bad books to compare them to, the good ones wouldn't seem so good ☺

I'm not really an anime otaku but being surrounded with people who love anime more than their lives? It tends to have some effect on you.

I'm currently having an anime marathon. I'm currently resting on my reading. :D

*sigh* I seem to have found that the bad thing about turning towards the beautiful faces of anime guys is that.. well... I look at guys in real life and am severely disappointed.
That awkward moment when you fall in love with a drawing and can't seem to love a real person. *le sigh*

Marie | 257 comments I think the last book in the Penryn & the End of Days series is suposed to be released in may 2014 so the wait shouldn't be that bad this time....I haven't started this series yet, I was waiting until the second book was out but since so many people seem to love it, my expectations are very high!

Matthew, you're safe. this one doesn't end with a cliffhanger like the first! After finishing Angelfall, I wanted to kill the author, compared to that, my reaction is very mellow about the ending of World After!! ;)

message 3645: by Rosal May (new)

Rosal May Ruda (rmruda) | 11 comments I really have this weird trait. It's weird that I'm weirded out by my weird trait. So anyways, about that, when I really like something, emphasis on really, I tend to curse. I don't know about you guys but when I like the guys in the novel, I tend to say "You're so hot, -----. I really want to kill you." or "He's so awesome. Can I kill him?" These things I say when I'm very interested but when I hit 9 on the Richter scale, hell breaks loose in my mouth and I am sure I would burn off the ears of a priest.

I'm really and absolutely troubled by this. :)
