We're really behind in this team challenge. That's a good thing. I need the motivation. My TBR list is way too long. It seems for every book I read, 3 new ones show up on the list.

We got off to a slow start in this team and have had a hard time catching up. But we sure are having fun trying! And yes, this challenge does not help the TBR at all!
It's been a busy week for me at work and I'm not getting as much reading done as I was anticipating. We'll see what I can get done by Sunday. Here are the most recent standings:
Team C - 1324 books
Team B - 1298 books
Team A - 1257 books
Team D - 1175 books
Great job team!
Leslie I am having a blast on this team!!! We may be the underdog but we are having fun. Can the other teams say that?lol

The Captains vs. Team D UpdateAs of post #1337 Team D is ahead by 12 books (remember it was twice as many as The Captains)!
The Captains - 19 books
Team D - 62 books
Just two days left to post your finished books. I'm off to go and get some reading done.
Hi all, I have been away from this site for almost two weeks. We were getting ready for vacation, and now that we are here, it's been busy. I just updated the books I have read, and quickly scrolled through the posts to try and catch up. I have seen Round II mentioned, but I'm not sure what that is, and if I am supposed to sign up. If anyone could let me know, it would be appreciated. Thanks all. :)
Donna - Round II sign-ups are here: Sign-ups Round II The Moderators explained the following in Team C - Message 1401 "We go until one of the four Teams reaches 2,013 books. We will be breaking down into small, more manageable groups for Round II. (The race to the next 2,013 book finish.)
Also, it will be set-up in a separate group so that people can NOT mistakenly sign-up on the Home Page. Also, some people have signed up and then dropped out because of Real Life. It makes it very difficult to track."
Based on my rough calculations, Team C should be reaching 2013 within the next 6-8 weeks.
Glad you are back!!
My oldest daughter and 2 of my grandsons are here from Texas for the weekend, which pretty much shuts down any real reading for me, except possibly a little at bedtime. Ugh! On the other hand, they're so much fun!
Good morning, Team![image error]
We have been busy! And Rebecca and Vi and I have some catching up to do to beat y'all!
I finished
What a sweet sexy romance. Loved it!@Rhonda - enjoy your family!
@Donna - welcome back to the thread. Vacation sounds lovely!
@Marguerite - I'm so glad you are having fun. I think we have a great team.
@Gayle - I love historical fiction! I have two that I'm reading this month (or trying to!).
and
Sharon Kay Penman is one of my favorite authors.
Just finsihed
. A free book for review. I enjoyed the book. It is about a woman who's baby got switched at birth with another. There were times I smiled, laughed and yes I cried a tear or two. The ending was good but I feel the author should of took it a little further. A good read. A grey mini challenge and captain challenge.

which qualifies for the Captain's Challenge. The birds eggs are grey so it qualified for the grey challenge as well.
Finished:
I suppose I'll have to force myself to read the next one ;-)Please add to Captain's Challenge
I finished
(almost 1000 pages on the edition I had; any points for me?) and
. Both were awesome and count towards the Captain's challenge.
I finally have a few minutes to post - I finished
yesterday and
this morning which both count towards the Captain's Challenge.I really like seeing all the different book covers we've read recently and I love that there are so many different genres.
I've finally finished
- my first mystery novel for this month's challenge.I will be starting
today, hopefully.
I agree, Rebecca! What did you think of Warm Bodies? I'm dying to see the movie!Good Sunday morning, everyone! I tried to post something witty about the time change, but for some reason I can't make it work. So sad!
Anyway, have a great day reading, even though we lost an hour-
Leslie wrote: "I agree, Rebecca! What did you think of Warm Bodies? I'm dying to see the movie!..."Funny you should ask! I was just talking about this with my husband. I thought it was an interesting story but I think the ending fell short. I keep thinking that I am missing something. I am now even more curious to see the movie - there are some scenes in the book I really want to see acted out.

I hope everyone had a good weekend! This evening I was able to finish
and
These both fit the Many Shades of Gray (ghost and cloudy in title) and the Captain's Challenges. Merry, Merry Ghost will also fit the Mystery Challenge (39 people shelved it as mystery).

Oh dear, I've been away in Tenerife without internet and seem to have missed a lot - if I need to do anything now, advice would be appreciated!
Faith - hope you had a good time in Tenerife. We are still working on Round I so you didn't miss too much :)The Moderators are setting up for Round II with smaller teams and want to distribute the teams evenly. You will need to sign-up here: Sign-ups Round II
[image error]Good Morning, Team! Please post the covers of any books you have finished for Shades of Gray mini challenge.

and I loved it. I haven't decided what to read next. I brought a couple books home from the library Saturday - it's just a matter of making up my mind. Easier said than done!
Along with the other people on Goodreads today/tonight, I am having problems posting. I'm also fighting a migraine which doesn't help. I'll post the results of the Captain's Challenge tomorrow. Have a good night everyone!
I'm going to go ahead and start
Leslie - Your choice of
looks good. Have you read others in that series? I looked up the first one
. It's going on my wish list.
Rhonda - I have not read anything else by her. I needed a book that had an address in the title and it was available at my library. I've steered away from her, as I thought it would be too syrupy sweet. But I actually kind of like it. The writing is very easy and the stories about the people are interesting. She says in the beginning that you can pick them up anywhere and I've had no problems coming in at book # 7.I have Plum Island on my nook. Picked it up for free. I'm interested to hear what you think.
I just finished Boule de Suif for college, and I was impressed. This book of short stories was just amazing and Maupassant was able to transform his pessimistic feelings about his society into something entertaining to read. Now I need to read Le Joueur by Fyodor Dostoyevsky for my literature class.
Finished both my books today
and
Loved Mystery Man! What a hoot. And really enjoyed the Debbie Macomber book. Really different LOL!!
I'm a little slow putting together the books and the winner for the mini challenge. I am not feeling well today. So please be patient!
Alley wrote: "Finished

which won't count for anything."But it's the Demonica series, so it's all good! Love that series!!
