How many have you read? (Reading the books on our group bookshelf)

June 2017 81 out of 186 = 43.54 %Aug 2017 86 out of 192 = 43.54 %
Oct 2017 88 out of 198. = 44.4%.
Nov 2017 92 out of 201 = 45.7%
Dec 2017 93 out of 205 = 45.3%
Feb 2018 96 out of 208 = 46.1%
March 2018 98 out of 211 = 46.4%
April 2018 100 out of 214 = 46.7%
May 2018 105 out of 218 = 48.2%
now on 98/220 = 44.5%I have increased my total by 10 in the last 2 months, comprising:
4 that I read at/near group-read time:
A Tale of Two Cities
Persuasion
Faust
A Wizard of Earthsea
3 "mined" from the list:
The Picture of Dorian Gray
All Quiet on the Western Front
The Caine Mutiny
3 picked that I've already read:
The Art of War
One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich
The Mill on the Floss
this means I will soon reach the Big 100
I'm currently reading Uncle Tom's Cabin, so that will probably be 99th
in line for 100th is To Kill A Mockingbird, but I might throw in a shortish historic such as Murders In The Rue Morge or Catcher In The Rye
the excitement mounts... ;o)
63/217 - This proves that no matter how many you read there are still so many more great books left ahead to look forward to :)

It's time for me to count, too. I've actually dropped behind this last year:last May -- 125/183 = 68%
now -- 145/217 = 67%
Let's see how soon I reach 60% :-\
I'm reading "Tess" now, that will make 123, or 56%. There are a few on our shelf I plan to read soon, like Lonesome Dove. I don't know if I'll gain much % -wise in the near future though, but probably will stay above 50%.
I'm at 132 out of 217, or 61%, the increase due to the group choosing to read two more books that I've already read. Eventually I'll tackle one of the fifteen works I have on my TBR list and increase my count under my own power. Eventually.
June 2017 81 out of 186 = 43.54 %Aug 2017 86 out of 192 = 43.54 %
Oct 2017 88 out of 198. = 44.4%.
Nov 2017 92 out of 201 = 45.7%
Dec 2017 93 out of 205 = 45.3%
Feb 2018 96 out of 208 = 46.1%
March 2018 98 out of 211 = 46.4%
April 2018 100 out of 214 = 46.7%
May 2018 105 out of 218 = 48.2%
June 2018 109 out of 222 = 49.1%
Just two books away from 50%. But I am reading The Wreath / Kristin Lavransdatter (buddy read) in June, so it may take some time yet.
I'm dumb in maths and don't know how to figure %? But I only have about 60 books remaining on the shelf to read. I'm currently seeking new classics to add to my personal shelf.
# books read / 222 * 100 = books read in %or simplified:
# books read / 2.22
since the current total is 222.
If you have read all 222 but 60, then you have read 162
162/2.22 = 73.0%
Oh thank you Flower for figuring that out for me!! I can probably finish that by the end of the year if I can find the rest of the books cheap. So good to know!
BAM wrote: "Oh thank you Flower for figuring that out for me!! I can probably finish that by the end of the year if I can find the rest of the books cheap. So good to know!"BAM, do you read ebooks? If so, you can find many classics for free, if they're in the public domain. There are tons of websites for that, but my favorite is Project Gutenberg. If you like audiobooks, the same applies for them, too - a great website is LibriVox. If not, I hope you can find cheap paper copies! I often buy used paper books, feel free to ask in case you need recommendations for online second-hand bookshops :)
I voraciously read ebooks, paper books, audiobooks I love all books! I've gotten many public domain books searching on my iPad and I also use Aldiko. It's saved me a lot of money. I recently found the app ThriftBooks and buy cheap used books on there. I'm sure to find everything I need one way or another.
I had my first look at the bookshelf to see how many I've read:79/222. That's only 35.5%.
I've got some catching up to do.
I haven't done this in a while. Last time I counted how many books I've read off our shelf we were only doing a number, not a percentage!Anyway, I've read 105 out of 222 which I guess is 47.3%.

I reread Little Women/Good Wives and although this was a great favourite when I was young and I read it more than once unfortunately, no..."I felt exactly the same way about Little House on the Prairie - I remember loving these books as a child, but when my son read it for the Mensa Excellence in Reading program I found it very preachy (he liked the book, however).
165/75% I’ve been cramming this week. I think I’ve read maybe 10 books this week from the list? I’ve also been collecting as many of the ones that I didn’t own so I can read those as soon as possible
Did I do the math wrong again? I’m so not good at it. I thought I followed the formula but I guess not.
4 more in last month, pushing me through the 100 Barrier! The Good Soldier Švejk
Uncle Tom's Cabin
North and South
To Kill a Mockingbird
making 102/224 = 45.5%
I broke the 100 mark, too. Last checked in around mid-April with 96 books completed. I've managed to knock another 10 books off the list for a total of 106.
I also broke 100 which stinks. Now it will beharder to keep track of the number. June 2016 14/148 - 9%
Dec 2016 44/168 - 26%
June 2017 64/183 - 35%
Dec 2017 85/201 - 42%
Apr 2018 95/217 - 44%
Jun 2018 105/224 - 47%
Not sure why Apr and June had the same group total. Apr must have added the books early for May and June? - edited to include new total.
If you're going off the group Listopia, it wasn't up to date. I just added the missing books. We're up to 224 on the group bookshelf.
Melanti wrote: "If you're going off the group Listopia, it wasn't up to date. I just added the missing books. We're up to 224 on the group bookshelf."there goes my percentage ; ) Thanks Melanti for updating!
Melanti wrote: "If you're going off the group Listopia, it wasn't up to date. I just added the missing books. We're up to 224 on the group bookshelf."what other list were people using by the way? Maybe that one is easier to count

I usually use the group bookshelf.
With the update, I'm at 136/224, or 61%. Stable for now.
I keep a list of what I have read in a thread in the Personal Challenges area and use the group bookshelf for the totals. The group bookshelf always gets updated on the first. The Listopia generally gets updated when someone comments on this thread and reminds me it hasn't been updated in awhile.
If I go by listopia ive read 167.im not doing the math. I always mess it up. But those books don’t match the bookshelf at all. So I’m really confused.
BAM wrote: "If I go by listopia ive read 167.im not doing the math. I always mess it up. But those books don’t match the bookshelf at all. So I’m really confused."That's 75% if you also count next month's group reads too. Your math is just fine.
The listopia should be the same as the group bookshelf, just in a completely different order. Most recently read books tend to be towards the end and the really, really popular ones at the beginning.
Melanti!!! THANK YOU! I feel so much better with you having said that. My OCD has been freaking out lol
So, I've tried the thing again using the group bookshelf instead of the listopia, and apparently I've read 123 of them + 4 DNF's and 1 currently reading. Seems a pretty good number, but don't make me do the maths because I suck at it ;)
That is a good number and I feel you about the math. Up above I think it was Katie who explained the math to me. I took a photo of it so I don't forget
Congrats Tammy, Darren and Sue for breaking the 100 mark!June 2017 - 32 out of 186 = 17%
June 2018 - 48 out of 224 = 21%
Next (humble) goal: 30%. At this pace, I would probably reach that over two or three years. Good, lots of fine reading to look forward to.
I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that we have lots of voters this month. If something drastic doesn't happen, I'll have nothing new to read in August. I may reread something, but I may take that month to catch up on my Netgalley arcs.
Counting my "need to reread" books: 51.5* out of 224 (23%)Not counting NTR: 8.5* out of 224 (4%)
Whelp. :'D Hopefully I'll be able to knock some of the NTR books into read before the year is out.
* The ".5" is Goethe's Faust because the version on the listopia includes both halves while I've only read Part I.

July 2018 110 out of 227 = 48.5%
Still looking at that 50%. Almost there....
4 more recently, pushing me closer to 50%...2 read:
A Room With A View
Lonesome Dove
2 chosen that I've already read:
Cold Comfort Farm
Sorrows Of Young Werther
making 106/227 = 46.7%
I'm at 127 of 227, so still at the 56% I was in late May. I'm also reading 2 more (both long ones), Once and Future King [added to the bookshelf in 2012] and Lonesome Dove, which would make about 57%.It helped that I have already read four of the July & Aug books- Great Expectations, Cold Comfort Farm, All Quiet on the W. Front and Giovanni's room..
