D.G.: yes, characters who separate and get back together will count for plot.

As for moving in together or getting married, I'm going to say no. I think the spirit of the song is more about the separation or on-off aspects to a relationship than the getting together.
D.G.: I'd missed your post with congratulations. Thank you! I've been offered (and accepted) a new job :-) I start Monday week :-D
OK, now I have a question for one of the other Mods :-) I'm wanting to read Voyager. It's a re-read for me from yonks and yonks ago, and I know for a fact that the hero's name is James Fraser, but he's always referred to as Jamie. The character link for him HERE gives his full name, but if it doesn't actually mention "James" specifically in this book (given that it's a #3 and the author might not feel the need to mention his full name again), would that still count for the name link?
Yes, CaroB, it is well established that Jamie is James Fraser in the previous books. (Doesn't change his birth certificate. ☺)
Haven't read any of the Outlander books *gasp!(Iknow!) If the books is a stand alone, then I would say no, but if it's a continuation of a story arc then yes because at some point in the story it was clearly stated that his name is James.Does that make sense?
Of course we all know Jamie Fraser's name is James. It counts :) Gisela, go get Outlander. Read it now. It's wonderful! I have chosen not to read the rest of the series cause I liked how book 1 ended :)
Ugh I couldn't get through the first Outlander book. Everyone raves about them and I just found it to be waaaay too long.
I liked the first one well enough but I haven't started the rest of the series. I feel like I ought to but.. How is the rest of the series, CaroB?
Other Mods, I have a question about the plot of my book...my heroine is married to someone other than the hero. Her husband can't have children and needs an heir so he holds a tournament. The winner gets the privelege of sleeping with the wife (who is against this idea). I'm at 52% and the husband is obsessed with his wife and the guy having sex. He's gone so far as to drug her, strip her and leave her locked in a tower with the guy, who's naked as well. I have a feeling the wife and guy are going to fall in love during their time locked together lol Anyway, can I get plot points for this? I'm thinking his obsession is definitely part of a dysfunctional relationship.
Melissa wrote: "Ugh I couldn't get through the first Outlander book. Everyone raves about them and I just found it to be waaaay too long."I couldn't get past th's first chapter! I might try the audio if there is one. There should be something good about it when all of you gush over it so much: D
Melissa wrote: "Ugh I couldn't get through the first Outlander book. Everyone raves about them and I just found it to be waaaay too long."Me too, Melissa!!! It's one of my secret romancelandia shames LOL!
Guess not so secret now, though ;-)
I saw the question before but I couldn't find the answer. Does the character have to be the hero/heroine or could it be another character that plays an important part of the story?
Susanne, it had to be one of the main characters. For a romance I would say that would be the hero or heroine. For any other type of book, I would say that would be the protagonist and the antagonist. Hope that helps!
Lisa Kay wrote: "Yes, CaroB, it is well established that Jamie is James Fraser in the previous books. (Doesn't change his birth certificate. ☺)"Totally agree! We all know that his name is James Alexander Malcolm McKenzie Fraser.
Yes, I know his full name by heart. In my defense, they say it a lot.
ShoSho wrote: "I couldn't get past th's first chapter! I might try the audio if there is one. There should be something good about it when all of you gush over it so much: D "The audio for Outlander is wonderful. It's one of the best narrations out there.
A word of caution though. Outlander is definitely not for everybody. I wouldn't call it a romance per se - the story is too complicated for that - but Historical Fiction + Time Travel with an Epic Romance. Yes, the romance is a big part of the story but the historical details are a big driver of events. That's why the books are so long (minimum 800 pgs.)
So if you don't like that sort of thing, then you might be bored.

CaroB wrote: "Susanne, it had to be one of the main characters. For a romance I would say that would be the hero or heroine. I'm reading The Magic of You and the hero from the last book James is on every other page so I could not not ask xD
CaroB, Dawn said that you might need some subs. I'd be interest. This looks pretty interesting (a bit confusing but interesting...lol). Let me know if you need me if not I will definitely sign-up for the next round :)
Fantastic! Thanks Jennifer:-) We've had some volunteers overnight, but could I put you on as a back-up to call on in case we need another player further in the game? The game is only on its 2nd week and there are always changes of circumstance at the beginning of the year.
LOL, we're working on minimising the confusion!

LOL! Love it!
You could put me on backup for later in the game as well if you like. This sounds interesting and I will sign up if there is round 3 as well.
I just wanted to say hi to everyone.I'm new pink cupcake.
My training wheels are still on so please have patience with me. ☺
I made that same comment on the Green team thread. Last week I think there was already a stamp by Saturday wasn't there? Maybe that was just first week excitement.
This week it is sooo close!!! We have 5 teams with only one player left to review!!!! Who's it going to be?????I hope you're all getting a song ready!
I refuse to go to sleep till i've requested our stamp, guess I best go and make some coffee its almost 11pm.I have my song ready as well
I have 5 songs ready, LOL! And I made sure that a lot of them mention a place in the song, too! I'm a genius that way. ;)But I'm not sure we Cupcakes will make it this week. All those carbs makes one groggy, LOL!
Hahaha well i've realised the version of the song I was going to choose is from 1971 and I may cry if I have to read a book from then.
I might be wrong but doesn't this mean the songs will be selected by whoever finished first and not necessary the first team that finished?http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...
